I’ve found that leaving the nymph in the water at the end of the cast for a little bit longer encourages the take. The nymph rises in the water column and looks like an emerger. Some trout will follow the nymph down and when they see it rise , they smash it. Edit: did you notice most of your fish were caught down river at the end of your cast.

Nice work Tom. Very enjoyable . . . this saves me going back to enjoy 'my' river . . . for a few days, anyway. I knew you'd produce one in that drop-off into that corner at the end. Not sure that I have ever missed one in there. Top effort . . . Edit: It was a ripper fish . . . as good as I've seen in that stretch. Strangely, in that (deepish) corner, it's nearly always a rainbow. 👍

46:33 - Classic Northeast Victorian sticky situation on the double rig. Also, every time I watch that net wrapped up over the top and then see you land a fish on the trampoline it creates, I want to buy you a new net. lol Great video, Tom. Tight lines.

haha, i've seen that net in person, it's... umm... something to behold. Reminds me of those awful swim shorts with the integrated mesh undies. I've worn those before and it makes me glad I'm not one of those trout...

Haha thanks man 😊 Sometimes it’s a mistake but sometimes I do it deliberately with the smaller fish so it doesn’t tangle the droppers and so I can get them back in the water straight away
