How to use the Euro Tunnel Crossing when touring with a car or motorbike.
The Euro Tunnel otherwise known as the chunnel connects England to France and is the easiest and quickest way to ride or drive form the UK to France. To save money on the Euro Tunnel purchase your ticket in advance and try to travel at off peak times.
Do you need to strap your bike down on the Euro Tunnel? - No you don't, simply begin your European motorcycle tour by riding onto Le Shuttle and stay with your bike.

Yeah they really are, Wales especially for us as it's even more familiar 😊. It sure is! Especially the first couple of days, it's like mental overload being able to hear and understand multiple conversations at once 😄

Welcome back. My wife and.myself.did the same.of.passing duty free.on the way back from luxembourg. Park up.and wait to get on the train. Bikes are always last to get on. We had one where the bikes where the only ones on the lower deck. Daddy sauce is another option.

If you wait a few years, you will be able to ride 18km below the sea, in the new Tunnel from Denmark to Germany, by your own!! The only reasonable way to do it!!! And not waiting for a - Train instead of waiting for a Ferry, but at any time wanted!!!! Also with two tracks for Electric Trains, of course! Finn. Denmark 😁 And you don't need to change direction, when ending on the other side. From that a train is fine!

Wow that's a big project for a short cut -impressive! If it's being built where we think it is that will save a lot of time. The channel tunnel is 50km long -probably best they keep the train system could be a nightmare if something went wrong. The Gothard tunnel in Switzerland is 16km and that you can drive through. Good point! The train does help with the change of road sides 😊

Hi Johnny, this was such a fun tour! it's going to be 4 weeks through England, Wales, over to Ireland and up to Belfast to get the ferry to Scotland. Ride the NC500 all the way around and drop back through England and onto North Wales 😊. About 8500km

So much better than a ferry and they normally let you on an early train. Despite living near Newcastle it’s worth the long southerly ride. Shame about the delays post Brexit as it used to be so much more straightforward.

Yeah agreed, so easy and fast. That's a fair journey down south from there. We have often taken the Hull - Rotterdam overnight ferry which is not bad as you arrive fresh the next day. Although that's got a lot more expensive in recent years.

If you are travelling up through Wales and heading for Holyhead for the ferry to Ireland ,try either Buckley Tyres or Colwyn Bay Motorcycles for your tyres,both know what they are doing, safe journey.

Hi Andrew, thanks for the suggestions! We take the ferry directly to Scotland from Belfast so will look for tires in Glasgow. Actually used to use Buckley tires many years ago 😊

That's good ,can't be throwing mileage on tyres away they are too expensive, if you are coming up through Wales I suggest a great road for you ,I have done a 225 mile loop today from North Wales down through Machynlleth to Llandrindod Wells ,the A483 from there to Newtown is epic,enjoy.

Never has a big breakfast been needed so much!! -almost went back for seconds lol. Couldn't believe we left the rain in France to be greeted with Blue skies and sunny weather! ........believe it or not almost all the trip had good weather!! Oh yes a flyby would be awesome!!! 😊

Yes that's correct, there is no land route to the UK from mainland Europe. The 50km long tunnel has been open since 1994. There are also ferry's running but they take almost 2 hours to cross.

Oh really, wow. I guess the added security isn’t a bad thing but hopefully they speed up the process. We had to wait a while at Rotterdam -the Dutch borders seem to be very strict. Tunnel is great and as you say nice to have a chat and you’re off 😎👍🏻

We just came back that way from Berlin. The UK Border Agency are useless jobsworths even getting us to take off our helmets - which the French don’t bother with. That’s what holds everything up for no good reason.

No way! Can't believe they asked you to take the helmets off! -We have never ever been asked to take them off at a border crossing. I don't even think the French border guards even look at us - too busy having a nap lol. Yeah we did notice things taking a bit longer than usual, also delays getting into the Netherlands.

@@SeanandEmily and yet our only issue with travelling into and out of the Netherlands was the exact same bit of road (A67) in Germany (A40) being unrestricted, down to 100km/h in the Netherlands and back up to 120km/h in Belgium (E34) :o

It is a “good reason”…..SECURITY, they check your face against your passport. A lot of people want to get into UK illegally, not only by dinghy across the channel !
