The Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft is a multirole jet fighter aircraft developed by a consortium of European air companies: Airbus, BAE Systems, and Leonardo.
Originally the Eurofighter Typhoon was designed as an air superiority fighter, but has been further developed to function well in ground attack and reconnaissance roles. The Typhoon is a highly maneuverable aircraft, and is powered by two Eurojet EJ200 turbofan engines. It can reach a top speed of Mach 2.49 (2,495 km/h or 1,550 mph) and has a range of 2,900 km (1,800 miles).
