Saka are my favorite faction in DEI for Rome 2, and I enjoyed them in EB1, but I can't figure them out in EB2. They start out losing 3k per turn with no way to stop it in sight. Does turning into a horde make units free upkeep? That's a lot of military you have on turn 10 for 0 income and you don't seem to be losing money. I'm playing Baktria now and oddly, they have access to Saka's entire unit roster minus the heavy cataphracts. Seems like it's easier to simply play Baktria and not worry about hordes and sacking.

yes, you could, i guess. units are free upkeep when horded, yes, and it gives you freedom to roam the map and build your warchest, which Baktria cannot do. the only issue i foresee arising is some confusion with their government buildings but those should (hopefully) be explained in the guide/manual.

@@HistoricalGameplay Oh my I didn't know Med2 hordes had free upkeep, I've only played horde factions in Attila which had their own building lines and economy including upkeep. I'll have to try Saka again knowing I can become a horde, but I don't like the idea of running around causing lots of trouble and then probably having to disband many of my veteran units when I settle because they are too costly.

@@SarcasmsesI don’t think you will necessarily have to disband them. If you watch a couple of concluding episodes of this series you’ll see I didn’t have to and was in fact making good money. Depends how you play it;)

what is a purpose of this? if you migrate, than you won't have your factional nor sakan local units at a disposal. So you esentially become dependant on other local units?

the purpose is to make money through plunder!:D in all seriousness, is that so? i assumed you can settle and then through building of native admin/govt building access your factionals (as well as local)? may need to double check the manual, though it hasnt been updated to 2.4 yet.

@@HistoricalGameplay The Saka have their own unique governments and reforms so I'm pretty sure you'll have some of your nomadic units still

@@HistoricalGameplay you need to settle. i assumed ( badly as it seems) , that you intend to migrate far more west, than into baktria.

@@Sulejmis yeah, i generally play by ear. it seems too early to settle just yet as we only recently migrated. i want to plunder rich seleukid east as well before deciding;)
