Europe has sooo many great songs, it is crazy that "normal" people know just that 1 song, and Joey is a great frontman, very likeable, his smile makes the audience smile as well, wish they come back to Poland very soon:)
Right? And this the last song I ever listen to. They have better songs. LOL Just like Warrant. Most people say Cherry Pie but their catalog has better songs too
your a really cool guy , then later in life you end up on a couch talking to these 2 , thats when credibility flys out of the window hahaha, its a all a con
I recently became a fan of Europe because they seem like genuinely good men who compose good music. And what’s really impressive is that they’ve stayed together for several decades, in all of the ups and downs throughout their journey. They deserve the utmost respect and I look forward to enjoying more of their music.
@@pietjepuk9575 Don't be ridiculous. The fact they had No. 1 in the UK with "The Final Countdown" doesn't mean it's one hit wonder as they play together from the 1970's till today with lots of different songs and styles in the pipeline. Cheers.
@@adamadamczyk8296Carrie, Seven Doors Hotel, Stormwind, Wings of Tomorrow, Scream of Anger, Prisoners in Paradise, Ninja, Sign of the Times, Superstitious among countless others!
@@vinaymulukutla358 it’s because we have spent the last hundred 150 years extremely secular so we have left religion to the past focusing on beeing more humane and strive for knowledge and treat each other equal. I think the outcome is sophistication
What a gentleman Joey is. The presenter couldn't have been ruder by saying that's the only song they were known for. Where exactly has that guy been hiding? Despite that Joey answered like a true professional. Can't wait to see them in London in the Fall.
Just saw them perform tonight in Utrecht The netherlands. Almost 2,5 hours! It was fuckin' great performance and the crowd loved it!! Those guys can still perform at top level in their 60's!
We went to see them in Newcastle on the 19th of October they were awesome, a really excellent show , Joey sounded excellent live , and the full band had a really cheerful positive energy , I'd love to see them again 10/10
Europe is such a class act, still! It's really amazing their quality is still here compared to many other band from that age. Saw them on Graspop last year and was still blown away. Great stuff!
Amazing Joey! Saw Europe in Rock imperium cartagena. Dream come true. Been waiting to see them for 36 years. I will make sure I see them every year from now! Amazing band! Europe forever.
This song was playing on the radio at 9pm while I was on the highway, heading to the hospital to have my baby girl…feb 27 1987. This will always be remembered as her birth song hahaha
Joey is one of the most underrated singers ever. He has a huge range and an incredible dramatic flair in his performances, but he is seldom appreciated. The whole band is phenomenal (John Norum, Kee Marcelo, Jens Johansen were there) and talking about "one song" is just unfair. Carrie, Rock the Night, Sign of the Times, Superstitious, Seven Doors Hotel. All of these were amazing songs. They influenced me as much as Bon Jovi, Mr Big, Whitsnake, Deep Purple, Guns n Roses, Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth and Helloween did.
Don't forget Devil sings the blues, Spirit of the underground, Walk the earth, Turn to dust, America, Light it up, Break Free, In the future to come... Man, there are so many masterpieces!
Absolutely. He NEVER sings a bum note live, even to this day he delivers every word with a resonant, flawless technique. His voice has matured and he prefers a much wider vibrato nowadays but amazingly they have only tuned down a half-step during the last 20 years.
When I was 13 I was so in love with John Leven that I taught myself English so that when I would meet him I could speak to him, which was my life goal. Still haven't met him but I'm very grateful because this language has open so many doors. Joey looks amazing. Keep rocking... blessings from Costa Rica 🇨🇷✌️
Yeah, I agree. Their very first album from 1983 - which they got to record after they won "Rock-SM" (the swedish national music championship, back in the days...) is still my favourite album of theirs. Unbelievably powerful and timeless rockmusic. A true masterpiece.
I’m still waiting to see this amazing gentleman , covid mess up my first chance to see live . Rock is never dead , and some of us have listened since the 80’s smiles ❤❤❤❤
Europe is unique, I've been a fan of Europe and Joey Tempest since the early 80's. Joey Tempest is a fascinating extraordinary musician with many talents. And Joey Tempest is Extraordinary Lovable Musician and Man. all songs from Europe and also from Joey's solo career are unique. I have all the songs and I listen to Europe and Joey Tempest songs every day as well as John Norum songs. Europe Accompany me every day. Forever Europe I love you ❤️
Your eyes shine when you talk about music or Europe , just like you I think it's an honor to still be in force after 40 years and on the road with the same guys from the beginning.🙌. It is an honor for me to follow you on this musical journey, to accompany you in this celebration that is so important for your career. Eagerly waiting for the documentary and everything they have prepared.❤
Great interview Joey, it's great to see you talk about Europe and your musical inspirations, you are also a great musician who has inspired many in his musical career, not everyone knows that the handsome guy from the 80s who sings in the band Europe is also the author and composer of most of the songs that we all still enjoy from that time, I admire your perseverance and I really appreciate that you stick together as a band. 💌🎶
Such an enjoyable interview! Your eyes Joey simply sparkle whenever you talk about Music, the Rock community and Europe! 🤩 Very nice to hear you mentioning the recent concert with Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard in Switzerland that I had the pleasure to attend! Such a great day! 😃
Hello , from USA, LOVE!! EUROPE!!! Frontman, Mr. Joey Tempest, very talented. LOVE THIS MAN!!! Appreciate all the hard work and dedication !! Love to watch you do your thing!!! #1 . Stay safe!! Lots of❤❤❤
Joey ❤️ What a thrill to see Your interview... Thanks for sharing it ❤️ I'm so glad You had a Great time there.. I loved seeing the emotion and passion with which You talk about everything you love 🥰 .... all that emotion and passion goes beyond the screen and reaches here.. because that's what we... " I " ☺️ also feel when we see your achievements... and listen to The Best Music since ever 💪✨👏...... Besitos to You Joey 😘🌠❤️
Hi Joey, warm greetings from "Europe" fan from Poland. I have your album and - as other say here - I love all your songs, not only "The final countdown". For many years I was doing gym listening to your songs because they gave me the "kick" and helped me to stay motivated. So I mixed your songs with Rocky soundtrack and exercised like hell :) Actually, these songs was kind of reward for doing the training, I mean I loved them more than training :) All the best !
I saw Europe in Portland, Oregon way back in 1988 or 89. Luckily there are lots of videos online of Europe performing and interviews. Joey is and always has been number one for me. ❤
Best of the best. Every concert in Poland is a dream come true. Joey is an extremely talented artist❤. He respects his fans a lot. This is very important to me🥰. I appreciate his very friendly contact with the audience. Culture, talent, class and personality😍. I am waiting for next concert in Poland💓.
...Tony Reno on the drums was great on the first two albums..and for me..Wings of Tomorrow is still their best album..saw them live many times on that 1984 tour..👏
Europe is one of the greatest bands, they are authentic. I love their music and the crystal clear voice of Joey, i've been listening to Europe since the 80's. I remember during the lockdown they made various sessions remotely on RU-vid for the fans, for the people, to lift our spririt up, and it really helped our psychology and mood. I'm very grateful. Good guys! Rock is alive, it lives in our hearts and we'll pass it to the generations to come. This is music and it brings people together.
One thing I’ve always appreciated about Europe is their studio work is always polished to perfection, and there’s not a lot of bands that can pull it off at the level they do. But when they play live, there is a rawness there that exceeds the polished studio affect. Like for instance, John Norum’s guitar really rocks and is so much more raw and distorted. What a great band. 👍👏
Yeah, it's ridiculous how one song stands for this band. Back in the day when that song was in the charts, me and many of my metal head friends thought: this is pop BS. But boy were we wrong about it. If you know their other songs, especially the era after the 'Final Countdown' and 'Out Of This World' you realize that this is a full blown hard rock band with tons of heavy songs. And they are a 100 % butt kicking live band. Can't wait to see them in Stuttgart in October.
I watched this in the UK when it went out. Great interview Joey. Yes The Final Countdown is a classic and always will be but your fans know just how much more Europe is and continues to be. Love everything you’ve created and look forward to future work. Love you guys so much. Lisa (Cambridge)
Europe is easily on my all time favorite list... i liked em when i was just listening to the music without translating the lyrics.. when i started to understand the lyrics i LOVED em.. awesome band
Sleeeepy...❤🤗 dear Joey (Mr.Larsson)😉how sweet he is😊... but this interwiew was so early, Mr.Tempest was great as always! Please 🙏come their in Vienna!😍🥰😘
Started listen to Europe when i was 6. Im Swedish and my mom always liked them... Seen em twice, and they are Swedens greatest rock band! So sad they seem underrated for many, especially Swedish people who haven't heard so much of their great songs...
I would have loved to see you live again. My first ever concert I saw more than 30 years ago was Europe and it even got the E tattooed because Europe shows marked sich e important phases of my life. But there are only seats in Stuttgart and Munich and sitting during a concert just isn't the same.
Nice, modest guy. Saw them couple of years ago, during their comeback tour. They worked very hard to earn the audience again… and that’s admirable when you where once the biggest band in the world.
@@Ineedahandle75 simple minds. U2. Madonna. Duran Duran queen. George Michael. Elton John. I can go on. EUROPE we’re one hit wonders. Even aha are bigger than europe
