Live at Shepherd's Bush, London is a official DVD and Blu-Ray release by the Swedish hard rock band Europe. The main feature is a concert filmed at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London, England on February 19, 2011
So John Norum didn't do the finger tapping or any other of the ''flashy'' stuff that Kee does,WHO THE FUCK CARES?!The guy has an amazing playing style, super melodic and has a super beafy, agressive tone,he's like M.Schenker meets Gary Moore. Not to mention he writes bad-ass songs, check out his solo albums, specially ''Face the Truth''
.and kee marcello is perfect and have a precision in the touch and in the tecnhic that norum don't have and the good musician you can see him in the concert and not in the studio...
John has his own interpretation of the solo. Still keeps the essence of the great solo from Kee.... and of course, we all miss that tapping...mabbe they should invite him to play this solo in some shows...:). Damn I miss them...one of the most under-rated band in the world only remembered for their glam stuff like Final countdown, which was not a bad glam rock song anyway...
@@orkunkoksal8711 no thats just a rumour. Acording to Marcelos biografi he went in to a deep depresion when he understod that they caryied on whitout him.
Norum playing is great, he just played that solo his way. I prefer Kee's playing on this one but I dig Norum's tone a lot more. So stop fighting, kiddos.
he isn't...he is good only in studio...not in live ,when do a lot of errors and change thekee's solos because he don't have the kee technics...if you say this ,you're not a musician ...for sure
i just have to say if Europe will keep doing more of these lost jewels of their discography(others are til my heart beats down your door, girl from lebanon, tower's calling, coast to coast, sweet love child, and many many more) we,their fans will be soooooooooooo much happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goddamnit you don't do that ! You don't play that particular solo that horrible way. If you're not ready to work something decent out, More than Meets the Eye is better off left alone and forgotten...
I repeat, different styles an' chords of inspiration..but, anyways, the virtuoso & wild, the genius & talent through John's fingers make Europe's Music one of the most Awesome an', most of all, Original..a great guitarist doesn't play all stuff the best..John's not a simple executor.. :)
with the exception of the first 2 discs in Europe (final countdown maybe some songs) John Norum is better at solo albums than bands he participates in, don dokken band is an example, lacking feeling, missing shred, everything getting very simplified, but the "total control" and "face the truth" are 2 of the best hard rock albums I've heard.
John Norum and Kee Marcello are BOTH FANTASTIC! The two play very differently, however, so there's no right or wrong it's what is to your own taste. Personally, I prefer Norum because he kept Europe from losing their rock edge, but having said that I think Out Of This World is a great album just a step down from what came before it. Europe are a great band and I get pissed off by the slamming of them and their music. I don't care about videos, image, any of that bullshit I just want good music and Europe make great music. For me Joey Tempest is among the premier rock vocalists- few can ever hope to be as good as he is. So why don't you stop fighting and Marcello and Norum and just love and respect the musical behemoth known as EUROPE!
Europe went with the tide! When they disbanded, it was the golden era of Grunge and Norum has nothing to do with it! Nor with their "revival", it never really happened mate... You know that, don't you?
Sebastian Slick I've gone back and listened to them with Kee. It's still great I love all of it, but Grunge as you say killed them off with all the other great music and great bands. Their "revival" has been good for the classic songs, but the newer material is disappointing. It doesn't sound like Europe anymore!
Benjamin Blake Mitchner I think they're still in there somewhere but you can't expect bands to not change after so many years! I mean how many bands actually stay together this long? I agree with vocals although I think Myles Kennedy would rival Joey although different! I think they still sound great and it really annoys me that people call them one hit wonders without knowing any of the music.
John Norum is a great guitar player but Kee Marcello's guitar lines are just beautiful in this song. Just like Norum's final countdown solo, this solo is perfect the way it is when played exactly however Norum didn't do so, the feel is missing in Norum's interpretation of the solo
Main issue in this amazing video of course is guitar solo. I am trying to learn kee marcello solo by the book and it totally belongs to a professional musician approach. Very hard for someone that does not have studied music as well. For rock n roll is more value someone with stronger sound than technique. Simple difference. John Norum alive sounds killer even not playing with a classical and perfectionist style. He has what we need to conquer souls. That is what Kee lacks, however his musical knowledge is deeper. We have to learn from both ones.
John is very short on Kee Marcelo, both guitarists should get together in the band and tour together sharing the solos, I think Europe is in decline and that reunion could attract a much larger audience, I personally think, and if they suck it to John Norun that's his problem
The favourite Europe song that I just wanna hug. Put me to tears as I see this being done very decently live. Joey's vocals didn't screw up live, remember; this song requires his vocals to be in quite a range in the recording. Actually all his songs back then..:) he played it safe but its a great effort live. I'm proud of them.
I prefer kee!! Norum left the band in the shit when he walked out just as they hit the big time!! Whatever the reason it was a shitty thing to do!! He sat back and got paid the royalties still!! Kee had only few weeks to learn to play Norums solos for the 87 tour!! When he did his own stuff for out of this world album it was amazing!! Then he got dropped for their comeback in 2004!! Seen them live 6 times and Norum ain't all that live!!
Different styles an' approaches, too different I think..you're right,but..TFC, Carrie, Danger on the Track, Ninja, Rock the Night didn't seem no more the same beautiful songs without the great John..NORUM 4 EVER.. :-)
you say bullshits.1 : joey write the songs and not norum that wrote only aphasia...is a demonstration that you don't know nothing about europe if you say this idiot things.norum don't do the right kee solos because he don't have the kee technics, instead kee done always perfectly the norum solos.without change and without execution problems.only for few songs he changed completely,as the seven doors hotel solo.norum do some good things only when he plays in studio, but in live do a lot of errors
