I think another reason for the houses to be build in this pop-out style is to stack wood underneath which will dry out from summer til winter and then be ready to be burned to warm the inside via traditional ovens.

Nebet Tepe is 6000 years old. The title mentions 6000 year old ruins. I also mentioned Plovdiv being around since 6000BC which makes it 8000 years old.
