They gave up their sovereignty when they joined the EU as all EU member states did. They didn't like being under the heel of the Russians when they were part of the former Soviet Union and the first chance they got of real freedom they swapped Russian masters for EU masters. Now the EU masters are telling them what to do just like the Russians did and will the EU use military force to bring Hungary back into line like the Russians did. If you join an exclusive club then you have to obey that club's rules and you don't get a choice. Freedom that they longed for, for so long would allow them to make their choice free of any constraints like the EU but Hungary doesn't seem to like true freedom.
Hungary should join the BRICS as soon as possible, no point to hang around, this sick EU leadership all together. Europe is finished, they good for nothing, with this unelected leaders, they all can only go lower, and deeper in the mess.
@@MrReubenTishkoff They are sovereign, but only partially, they agreed to relinquish partial control over many areas such as border control, there's still some leeway though, as seen during covid, so it's not really as extreme as you're saying, it's just that there's a balance and that really varies depending on the matter at hand.

Orban, with the right of veto, has been bothering the EU stopping a lot of major rulings that are shared by most countries, and all of that while being the head of one of the smallest, weaker state. I was in Brussels 7 months ago and the 'multicultural' neighbourhoods I saw on the train ride in were as graffiti-covered, ominous and ghetto as anything I've ever seen- a look that extends well into historic downtown areas. My local Brussels guide had warned me not to get off at two particularly dangerous stations "at any cost" where announcements warned "pickpockets and luggage thieves may be in both the stations and the trains". This is practically open blackmail. It's a joke when this court is afraid of the rule of law, when it itself goes beyond the legal framework. I would like to know on what basis the amount was calculated, and what other countries will receive as punishment after this. The checks and balances disappeared from the EU, it became an open dictatorship. If Russia subjugates Ukraine, they will be in big trouble. Sadly Poland not as strong as Hungary. They now have Tusk as their PM. I think they still have their own currancy though which could leave them an escape route when the Ukraine fiasco comes to an end , unless Tusk forces them to adopt the Euro.

As a Pole - I think that protecting the country's borders is way more important than what any European judge or panel of judges has to say about this. If the EU officials do not allow us to protect our citizens, I think it's really about time to say goodbye to the EU. Yes - it will have a terrible impact on our economy, but at least we will keep our country.
