John Norum, as a part of a forgotten band, is very underrated, but he's one of the best guitarists i've ever heard. People thinks Europe today too, do 80's music, so they know only The Final Countdown, but not the albums from 2004 until our days, in which the music is much better as 80's one.

Not sure why people are knocking Norum here. He plays that solo pretty accurately as far as I can see. People should remember when it’s live and stage volumes are very loud it’s not always that easy to hear what your doing and it’s not always going to sound exactly the same as the record. Kee Marcello was technically excellent and had a great live tone, but he had so much delay going on most of the time it was quite hard to tell whether he was playing it note perfect or not. Both good players.

kee has a classical,jazzy,pentatonic,melodic,& metal styles.his melody have courageous and cheering sound and feel.idk bout' jazz.he uses pentatonic adding tech.on it.his classical as far as i know is like yngwie malmsteen you will find it in his lesson video.he has heavy riffs &rhythm of metal/ norum he has also have melody,blues,pentatonic,& hard rock.his melody shows sad feelings with blues on it.he uses triplet scales of pentatonic had fast rhythm & riff.kees melody style is what i like

Or Seven Doors Hotel, Kee's version of that solo was one of the most atrocious things i've ever heard, and he gets a pass, but when John's messes up on ONE scale he's the worst guitarrist of all time

Well, everyone has their own opinion. But i agree with you, the music always comes first. I still believe he could of given me a more civilized respons than calling me an idiot for disagreeing with him though.

In fairness, Norum does a good job on Kee's songs...but...Kee is THE MAN! Kee did better versions of Norum's solos live! Kee is No. 1!

@@nemchymantzel9906 actually europe suits best with john norum, that's why they picked him up, where kee was their solo guitarist that time...kee is really too melodious, but for Europe, u need rock and heavy metal, which they chose now... And hence, john is best for them

he actually did not, well when they have a break in the 90's yeah. But when they had their reunien they took in norum and didn't tell kee. so much i know, heard it on an interview in a channel in sweden.

@jonike6 concuerdo con vos, kee es mucho mejor que norum me encantan los dos discos que grabo kee con europe, es una lastima que se haya ido, el disco the final countown me gusta norum y todo europe pero los dos discos que grabo kee en europe me fascinan, de todas formas soy fans de def leppard...

Jon Norum just doesn’t have the chops of Kee Marcelo. He gave it a good attempt here though. Just a little sloppy, comparing to Kee of course

@gor2dj mas que extrañarse es que el solo es completamente diferente en su parte mas rapida y exigente sencillamente porque norum no puede tocarlo igual , no es tecnicamente tan bueno como kee

As for the solo: slow passages OK, fast passages... Norum really messed 'em up. Kee Marcello playing is a lot smoother.

ipojuca22 your right kee was a much quicker accurate player he fit the band much better John s good but kee was excellent in the band wish they would get him back he could play norm s stuff slot better
