@@krisztiank2678 People in all countries will defend their country if there is a real danger but people are not stupid. If the government tries to fool them, they will not participate.
Russia is no threat the biggest threat is our own goverments dont want war simple just declare your country neutral why join the army to die for what i cant say more because Y /T will cut me dead i am getting sick of 24 hour bans i served my country with pride and paid the price would i do it again NO BECAUSE MY NATION AND GOVERMENT ARE NOT WORTH THE SACRIFICE.Disabled ex service man .🇬🇧242.
I am a veteran and used to think "My Country, Right or Wrong". I was wrong. I would not fight for the UK now, in fact I would be more likely to support Russia where they still have freedom of speech.
I also live in the UK and I have never seen anything like this before. It’s like you almost get a prize for speaking against this country. If you dare saying something good about it you are immediately ostracised.
To be completely fair, we don't have 'freedom of speech' in the way most people in the west understand. There are still laws that prohibit you from publishing some things; the long-standing one is anything promoting the NatSoc ideoogy, and from the more recent, any false information that aims to discredit the military. Then again, it's in the slavic culture to 'watch your mouth', so to say. Then again, it's generally fine to prevent any info not backed up by evidence, the problem is in actually getting said evidence.
It's not only about loving ones country, it's about trusting the government to make correct decisions, and we can see the idiotic decisions they've taken that did NOT benefit the country they serve. Who on earth would chose to join the army and potentially give their health and lives for that?
MUST WATCH 12 min video: "Turns Out The Petrodollar Deal Didn’t Expire on June 6 After All | Prof Richard Werner". and this short one: "The Truth About Israel" from Ken
I think most people in western Nasions would rather fight their own Governments than fight Russia. I live here in Britain at 71 I can honestly say I have never met a Russian who has done me any harm but plenty of people in the government who have going all the way back to the 1960s.
I absolutely agree. My dad US Army (and us) was stationed in Germany, when the Berlin Wall was being build and never felt any anger towards Russians, I knew for a fact that they were the ones that won WWII. We used to live in one of the last towns to fall to the Russians during that war. I'm 77 1/2.
As a military veteran (a brief career many decades ago) the rationale was simply because my country was actually under attack. It was not a theoretical risk or a political motive. It was real. As you say, politicians demonising Russia, or any other country, is not sufficient reason or justification for joining the military. I would take the view that no politicians deserve such allegiance today, as it is they who are destroying countries from within. But that is another story!
Military service is done voluntarily when one has to fight to protect one's land and one's family. A soldier dies if necessary but protects his land and family. A soldier who fights for money never wants to die, so he cannot win.
I agree with your statement, but people need to realize and accept the following: what land? what family? Women abuse men. Schools punish boys. Workplaces discriminate men. Women are passed around like rent bicycles. It is almost impossible to buy a home for a young person. Food is unaffordable. Young men gets ignored by women and are alone. Why should any boys or men join the army to fight for the people who abuse them?
Here's my thought;- Many young men joined the military with the dream of "serving the country" but will find out soon that is false since they will be serving the politicians in power and they are nothing important to those politicians except as cannon fodders. As to mercenaries, there is a good reason the Geneva Convention don't take them as soldiers since they fight not for their country but rather for pay.
Most soldiers are guilty of rape, murder, genocide and hardly ever fight for the right, choosing instead to fight for the lowest frequency people on the planet like van der liar etc etc FOH 🔥
Just look at the military recruitment ads of Russia and the USA and the European countries. That’s all you need to see to know why recruitment is so low in the west.
Yeah, that's why russia has 15K volunteers DAILY and the west can't even manage minimal numbers to be able to say they have anything resembling an "army".
My Grandson will be old enough to fight in 3 years time. I live in Germany and luckily we have national elections within the next 3 years, so I hope that we have the AfD in power by then because they are anti war. All we can do is hope that the right politicians are in place soon to stop this nonsense.
Chinese and Russian recruitment ads make me want to join their army even though I'm a fat 44 years old man, American recruitment ads make me go WTF is going on with that country?
Seb, just keep going because the Western EU is going mega nuts but you're keeping to be level-headed, objective & logical. Excellent video. Thank you and wishing you a jolly good time this weekend!
Quick solution .....stop fighting other country's war.....they want war let them do it......just to think, Europe would still have industry and Ukraine would still be in one piece..... Van Der Layen.....work for Europe not Washington.
Seb, you probably don't understand how soviet union used to be, the people's mindset, if you never experienced it. People miss those times, and believe it or not modern Russia's values and not that different from those times. People were a lot closer, looking out for each other, you could ask your neighbours for help, and they would instantly be on it. People used to care, used to contribute towards the society, towards making their world a better place to live in. That alone is bigger than one self. People are social creatures, we strive Together! And that is why Russia does not have that problem as much as western nations do
Here in Lithuania (nato country) we still have conscription to the army (but only for men). I'm still studying and I got enlisted to the army. They said studying is not an argument to postpone military, because it's not a university. I have no motivation to serve 9 months and get 200 euro per month lol. Will try to dodge it as possible.
I'm even be in McDonaldn's I'm stop using or baying made in America . I'm getting very sick when I hear the word American.GOD bless all of good people.
I honestly believe that the horrors of war are everywhere nowadays online and the pictures are graphic! Youngsters had never imagined what war was but with TV and then social media and podcasts etc they now know there is no glory in war....
I think we should create a tournament where a selected elit enters. These people would be elected by their people, lets call them politicians. These politicians would enter pre selected areas all over the globe and they would fight 1on1 until only one remains. The victor of this tournament could decide the fate of the participating nations. Let's call this tournament Mortal Kombat.
I ain't fighting for a governing body that i havent voted for, moreover who wants to fight Russia can get the train to Ukraine they'll even give him free gun and volunteer payment if he lives to take it...
No one wants to fight for a corporate owned group of Commissionaires and a leader the people have seen being found guilty of corruption BUT still re-elected over what should be a trade group.
No army no wars, politicians imagine they have the power to play with people's lives and by not joining the military that power is extinguished completely.
If you don't own anything in the country and on your return from the battlefield the situation will be the same, noone sane would risk his life so the rich people will keep their riches and their lives. And without common soldiers war will be lost.
Seb, just keep going because the most EU is going mega nuts but you're keeping to be level-headed, objective & logical. Excellent video. Thank you and wishing you a jolly good time this weekend!
I cant understand how we can talk about nationalism required to put your life on line while living in a global world. What I mean is I was born in Pakistan, I left the country because I was not overly enthusiastic about the place of my birth. I now live in Europe. I work here, pay taxes, pay into economy but I fully understand the country I live in is not my country. I just live here because it has better economic benefits. If war breaks out, why would I put my life on line for a country which isnt mine. To whoever saying but this country provided you home needs to understand, I pay taxes and I make the country more money than most of their own population, which is why they tolerate and embrace me. If my nationality or residence is financially based then anyone thinking I would be interested in participating war is just illogical. This applies to all countries with high level of immigration and this immigration logic applies to historic German or Polish population. A polish person living in Germany would not be ready to put his life on line. We dont immigrate because we are aligned with a culture or country. We migrate for financial reasons and we are allowed to migrate for financial benefit by the countries. If war breaks out today, Im the first one buying my ticket out. No hard feelings.
You chose poorly. The country you migrate to should become your new home e.g. you must be fascinated with its language and culture and potentially see your future as a citizen of it. Most migrants have "away from (sth bad)" mentality, not "toward to (sth good)" mentality.
do not underestimate the stooopid who are already brainwashed and the ones that are either lazy or scared shitless and would not go to vote, but if there would be a referendum the V4, ex yugoslavia /except albania and the part of serbia they call otherwise for some reason/, catalonia, eastern germany and bavaria, bulgaria, romania....yup, they would like to have stable smart government that has life costs under control and has properly set up borders to keep vermin out
Given that European countries are subservient to US hegemony I prohibted my sons to sign up to our military in order to be abused for our political leaders proving their fealty to the US hegemony.
What killed the British army was the end of the Cold War when I joined in 1989 we had 153000 in the ranks with 55000 stationed in Germany roll on 2024 we now have 73k and struggles to fill its ranks it used to be a job for life well 22 years but now you can leave whenever you want 🤦♂️
The United States has military recruiting problems as well and none of the military services except the Marine Corps met their recruiting goals that last couple of years. They have lowered the requirements like having a high school diploma and are taking illegal immigrants promising citizenship when they complete their enlistments. In Europe, families know that it is ludicrous to think that Russia is interested in invading west and just wants to do business there. They advise their children not to buy into the hype. If Europeans open their eyes, they will realize that they are in much greater danger from the United States which has already captured their energy markets and wants to trap the Europeans into buying american goods. That's one of the reasons why the U.S. oposes the Belt and Road Initiative.
Young soldier Dunka: ''Wearing this uniform includes a sense of pride''. Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing ? Where have all the young men gone ? They're all in uniform. Where have all the soldiers gone ? Gone to graveyards every one. Oh, when will they ever learn ? When will they ever learn ?
US has the same problem. You say people need to love their country to join the Army. That's not enough. They have to trust that their *government* is representing their country, and with the US government displaying nothing but hatred for the demographic that traditionally filled their combat ranks, that demographic is not showing up at the recruitment offices.
Meanwhile...russian recruitment ads are hitting all the right spots, literally fantastic. Heck, they're making ME want to join and I'm not even russian!
You are exactly right, $$ is not the answer although maybe it is for about 8-10%, but Patriotism is the key factor. But the Vietnam War is a perfect example for your reasoning. Without the forced conscription, or Draft, the US could not have entered the war. And now Thousand's of Vet's are either dead, homeless, and starving due to the lack of concern by the Government. Vet's are considered nothing more than GI-JOES, GI means General Issue, meaning, "Disposable or Scrap," Not worth savaging !! Semper Fi!!!
when I joined the army as a volunteer it was also only because I wanted to become a soldier. But after your training you soon notice that there is no money available for further training such as identifying armoured vehicles of both friends and enemies. There is no money for decent shooting exercises and so on. Respect from your superiors is sometimes hard to find, theft and deceit is the norm towards subordinates. Intelligence is often hard to find among the officers who during exercises drive their own people to "death" through ignorance. After 3 years I had enough of it and returned to civilian life. When I saw my then company commander on TV as an observer in Kosovo I knew immediately that he would not be around for long. And I immediately got it he was the first blue helmet to be shot down.
Sebastion, My two Daughters and 2 grandchildren are bigger than me and they are the most important thing in my life. I would give my life for them in the twitch of an eye. Lots of men feel the exact same way as I do and this is what drives military service mostly and very often. I also joined the Army and served 14 years. My service to my country was NOT for my country but for my parents who were having a hard time. I could send money home for them. Lots of men go to war and conflict out of love for country and family, NOT for the hatred of the so called designated enemy.
Thanks for this great comment and for the insight. I totally sympathise with your position. Family always comes first as it should be. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I wish you a fantastic weekend !
In a nutshell, the ongoing military aid to Ukraine and the potential shift toward conflict with China are driven by the military-industrial complex, which uses war as a means of job creation and profit under the guise of patriotism and national security. This cycle of conflict is fueled by defense contractors who benefit from sustained military engagements, at the cost of human lives and global stability. As tensions with Ukraine reach a critical point, these interests may pivot toward China, escalating a dangerous new front that risks catastrophic global consequences. To break this cycle, the world must prioritize diplomacy, cooperation, and sustainable development over conflict-driven economic growth. I firmly oppose any approach to job creation that involves the cessation of human lives. The idea of sacrificing lives for economic gain is morally unacceptable, and I reject any system that justifies war or conflict as a means to create jobs. Human dignity and life should never be compromised for profit or employment. The global leaders who orchestrate forever wars also control the creation of money and have established a monopoly over it. This concentration of power enables them to profit from conflict and manipulate economies for their own gain. Supporting such individuals or systems only reinforces their dominance and perpetuates a cycle of exploitation and violence that benefits a few at the expense of many. The psychological impact of this manipulation on society is profound. It breeds distrust, fear, and a sense of helplessness, as people are conditioned to accept conflict and inequality as normal. This manipulation erodes critical thinking, fosters division, and perpetuates a cycle of anxiety and aggression, undermining the collective well-being and mental health of entire populations.
I joined the British armed forces many years ago. I believed we were the good guys, and our sole purpose was to defend our homeland and territories from potential foreign invaders and tyrannical regimes. It is now abundantly apparent that we are not the good guys, we're not defending our homeland from foreign invaders, indeed we have a tyrannical regime in control, supported by a minority of the population, which is acting against the interests of the people of these islands, and actively facilitating and encouraging the ongoing foreign invasion and colonisation of our homeland against the interests and stated wishes of indigenous Britons. There is no way I would join the armed forces now, and I would discourage my children from doing so. Not that they need any discouragement, they're smart enough to know better.
I think people have caught on after fake war on terror, they don't want to star in hurt locker sequel or look like a testical after face burned off... They get plenty of compensation to buy all the bottles of booze in shop 😭
Ask not what you can do for your country, ask what your country can do for you. In a democracy the government officials should work for the benefit of the citizens of that country. When these government officials use their power to enrich themselves by stealing the wealth created by the workers of a country, they become the enemy of the people. The working people of a country in a truly democratic society, should never be asked to sacrifice their lives for the benefit their exploiters. Nobody has given a better definition of democracy than Abraham Lincoln did when he implied that democracy was government of the people, by the people and for the people. Our elected representatives should be servants of the people. Your servant is never your boss.
one thing everyone throughout Germany, in fact throughout Europe, would be absolutely certain for the last 50 years, would be that there is no chance that Russia would attack Germany, just as Antarctica would not attack Germany. it never happened, and why would it? i actually heard this mentioned as a problem in 'the economist'... as a problem! probably 2017 or 2018.
Politician - we want soldiers. why people dont volunteer? we will mandate military service. - citizens - why? you want to send your children and relatives to war Mr Politician? - Politician - No. of course not. I will send yours
You are actually right when it comes to trust in the power above you. Served in Singapore army, and the culture has been effort and responsibility = priviledge. Yes there are many people who are less motivated and just want to get through the mandatory service, but if you put in your effort it actually becomes a valuable experience for growing up into society. You can say that asian culture is different from the west when it comes to liberalism and boundaries, but it is also on a common value of respect that I personally see the western culture today seem to lack. It also comes down to how much the system rewards your contribution equally. You see fewer inconsistencies, feel less manipulated, and the rules are aligned with common morals and rights the best they can. For example, safety regulations considered seriously especially in training (they even emphasize history to why they exist in the first place, written in blood or by deaths in such incidents). Just like politics, it is always the verifiable results that gain the people's trust. It is not hard to see that the country does what it can to allow the country to prosper even if not perfect, while western critics always say that it is an authoritarian dictatorship. Does this ring a bell like what one side of the war in eastern europe is facing? Which would you trust? Results or claims? Do politicians believe that the people can't sense their inconsistencies? IMO, it is the flaw of western culture today which is trying to worm its way into every corner of the world, thinking that it is the best. Where is the general respect for every one as human beings?
Ever since I was a boy, I wanted to be a medic in the US Marines (it wasn't until later that I realized they had "Corpsmen", who were actually USN personnel assigned to Marine platoons but, I didn't care). I was going to at 17 and get my HS diploma early, accepting it in dress blues but, was advised to wait by veterans who wanted it to be a VERY well-thought-out decision, and my parents, who wanted me to serve a proselyting mission as an Elder in our church (Mormons). I waited and did my ecclesiastical duty but, by the time I returned to serve in 2017, that dream had soured. Why become a warrior who'd be deprived of 2nd Amendment liberties by his country for the psychological damage endured in the wars he fought, ostensibly to protect, at the hands of the government who put him in those situations? What fraternity was there in a Corps. filled with men whose childhood shrektual trauma had twisted their attraction, and activist women who resented my gender for existing while happily trick-turning their way up the command hierarchy? What good would I really be doing, forcing Iraqi and Afghani tribesmen to abandon the traditions of their fathers so they could be homogenized into corporate consumers and "Global Citizens"? What glory was left when you could no longer seize land to farm, war-brides to marry, or even trophies from slain enemies? Other than a faulty G.I. Bill, less freedom, and a lifetime of mental and medical problems...what did I actually get from serving in the Corps. War used to be a transcendent clash of dominance between tribes, fought by warrior-aristocrats who were granted much for their sacrifice if they survived, where men could bond without fear of getting pumped by their fellow dudes or reported for making a joke by gals who had no business being there. The Cult of Victory and the honor of triumph used to mean something! The citizenship won by decades of hardship was rewarded! Now? It's a joke. Only mercenaries are honest with themselves and I wish them the best in their reveries.
The thing is Russia seems like a better country with good values, most ordinary peolpe would be better off under russsia at this stage. I like Russia becuase they don't do the LGBT and BLM stuff
Agree with patriotism, it is absolutely necessary. But why is Reuters concerned with Eastern Europe? If Russia was to "attack" then it becomes a NATO problem. Or does Reuters suggest that eastern Europe would become the sacrificial lamb?
