1750 zackspeed in that MK2 , the same engine they used in the zackspeed capris, not as much power though as the capris on the tarmac were pushing 600BHP + but 420 in the little escort must have been fun without the fancy driving aid tech they use these days. but goes to show the cosworth lump was and still is one of the best engines ever.
It depends on the circuit, they de tuned it for this race but on the less technical majority tarmac surfaces it was full tilt 650bhp+ my old college tutor was part of the scene back in the day until he went into tutoring in mid 2000s as he stated the series went to the dogs from late 90s
