I'm a multi-generational East Tennessee native, with ancestors living here before it was a state. You should find a video tour of Cades Cove. It's an area in the Smokey Mountains that's been preserved as a National Park. It still has the log cabins and rustic churches and other buildings that were built by the earliest settlers to cross the mountains, and their descendants. Colonial Williamsburg preserves a small American city as it was at time of the Revolution and Cade Cove preserves an isolated rural community as it was between the late 1700's all the way up through the early 20th century.

Hello! Native Tennessean here. A few quick things I would mention: 1) The area shown here is Nashville & surrounding (Franklin). It’s fun for tourists or a visit but most Tennesseans will agree that Nashville isn’t really representative of the rest of the state. That said, we do have a lot of natural areas and hiking and other outdoor activities are popular and plentiful. 2) If you think Nashville is beautiful, Google East Tennessee (Knoxville and Chattanooga, for example). We are right at the foot of the Smoky Mountains (part of the Appalachians). Glad to see you’re enjoying what you see of our state 😊!

Franklin is a suburb of Nashville. It resides in Williamson County. Williamson County is one of the ten most wealthy counties in America. This is where most of the country music stars, music executives, and professional athletes live. Everyone from Dolly Parton to Luke Bryan has a house there. As you can imagine, it's pretty expensive. You may or may not know that Nashville's nickname is Music City since most of the country music is recorded in and around the city. Every major record label has a studio in town on Music Row, and all the bars on Broad Street have live bands playing every night, all year round. It's also home to the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Country Music Awards. It's a pretty big tourist city for Americans. It's also a major destination for musicians who want to make it big in the music industry. The bands who play at the bars all across the area are generally really good because the talent pool is so deep. Many of the famous country music stars started out playing in these bands. There's also plenty of other types of music, not just country music, but country music is the bread and butter of the music scene in Nashville.

I have to say first of all to all the University of Tennessee, congratulations on winning the national baseball championship title!! I am from Nashville Tennessee, (TN) the city that you saw with the Parthenon. That building was built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the city of Nashville. It's in the middle of a park called centennial, which is walking distance from Broadway. Radnor lake is very near Nashville and the downtown Broadway area which is mostly for tourists. Where the Nashville predators play ice hockey and where we have lots of concerts. The Cumberland River also runs right down by the end of Broadway and it's really beautiful and that's where you saw all those bridges and we have a big river boat that you can go on and all kinds of things. Most of her video was in Middle TN. Our state is much wider than it is tall. There are three stars on our flag and they represent the three geographic sections of our state because they are so different. Middle TN Is rolling hills some of them pretty big but they're still hills, lots of lakes some very big, and lots of rivers. It is beautiful I feel very blessed to be a native of the state and to have lived here most of my life. I just travel a few hours to the west and I'm in Memphis where there's great Delta Blues music, and the Mississippi River. About 4 and 1/2 5 hours to the east are the Appalachian mountains which we share with North carolina. I hope you get to see some videos of both of those areas. In one of her videos they are having breakfast at a restaurant just about a mile from my house called the Loveless Cafe. My son works as a server there. Great southern cooking and a fun atmosphere. Some other things we have to do in the Nashville are Nascar racing lots of University sports, festivals, professional Baseball, the Sounds, Hockey, The Predators, and Football, The Titans. There's plenty to keep you busy here. Many people love it it's one of the fastest growing cities in the country, partially because the state of Tennessee has no state income tax. It also helps that we have a couple of major medical centers here. If you ever decide to make it to Tennessee I hope you let your fans here know and we'll be glad to welcome you and make sure you get to all the great and fun places that are not just for tourists!!

Tennessee alone has almost 60 state parks and 85 nature and scenic areas. I live just West of Nashville, and we have a beautiful state park here named Montgomery Bell State Park. They have a gorgeous hotel on a lake and private cabins you can rent that are beautiful. They have hiking trails from beginners trails .3 miles long to experienced trails up to 10 miles long. I think they have 9 separate trails. I'm originally from Louisiana, but I've been here 12 years, and if you want to experience good Tennessee food, try the barbecue. I think if you want to try really good food, go to South Louisiana and try Cajun cuisine. Tennessee does have very beautiful scenery and beautiful creeks and rivers. They have places you can rent kayaks and float the rivers. I've been here 12 years and I take random drives to places I've never been and I still get surprised at how beautiful Tennessee can be. As far as parks go, in this country each state has multiple state parks and national parks. Each park has its own official stamp and my sister travels to different state parks in the country to fill up her state park stamp book. Getting stamped is free. The park pass port she mentioned in the video is a state park pass that you pay yearly and you can visit state parks an unlimited amount of times which is much cheaper. People of retirement age and disabled people get to go to state parks for free but you have to sign up for the free pass. I don't think people from across the pond realize how big our country is. When I lived in Louisiana it took 4-5 days to drive to my grandmother's in Seattle Washington. Flying is much better at around 7-8 hours. It's 2,700 miles from where I lived to Seattle. I highly recommend visiting Tennesse and Louisiana. If you can afford it, come see all 50 states and go to a state park in each state. All 50 states have something beautiful and interesting about them. I've been to 36 of our 50 and I enjoyed every one. Y'all come on and visit us!!

I did my undergraduate work in east TN. I god back almost every summer for workshops at a craft school in Gatlinburg. It is beautiful in the mountains. If you go, I'd recommend staying on the Townsend side rather than the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg side, unless you like traffic and crowds. In the spring, the dogwoods come out and trillium, lady's slippers, dutchman's britches, jack-in-the-pulpits and bloodroot bloom. In June and July the rhododendrons and azaleas bloom. (The Andrews Bald Trail is amazing this time of year.) In early June, the synchronized fireflies are incredible. You can drive around Cades Cove and see how the early European settlers lived in the area or go over the mountains into NC to Oconaluftee Village and see how the Cherokee lived in those days. Outside the park you can go tubing on the Little Pigeon River.

I can not recommend The Great Smokey Mountains national park enough! You might even be able to see a wild black bear up close. They are mostly docile and friendly to humans as long as you respect their space and don't feed them. And when it comes to country music I dont think I can recommend anyone else but the legend herself Dolly Parton who is from The great Smokey Mountains area, she even has an amazing amusement park named after her that I visit at least 6 times a year.

Seeing a black bear is nice. For the sake of the bears, I beg you to stay in your car away from the bear. While you will be a responsible visitor, as recent videos of bears interacting with people in downtown Gatlinburg will attest, too many bears are losing their fear of humans. Once that happens, their time on this earth is short.

I am a Tennessee native. I live in north east Tennessee. First, there are no wild alligators in the state, we are too far north for them. This video only scratches the surface of our state. The Great Smokey Mountains National Park is the most visited national park in the USA. Nashville is known as the home of country music but Bristol Tn. is the birth place of country music. Bristol is a city that sits partly in Tennessee and also in Virginia. Memphis is the home of the Blues and it is on the Mississippi River so, to say that there is a rich musical history here might be an understatement. Another fun fact, Tennessee borders more states than any other state in the nation. Please, come and visit us some day.

The National Park Passports are bought once a year and let you into All National Parks with up to three passengers in your car for $80 for a one year pass. Doesn’t cover things like parking fees and things like that. Yellowstone entry is $35 for a week. Yosemite is$37. The Grand Canyon is $35. So you can see that at least in the West visit three parks and you are ahead!

Out here in the country there is very little crime, and almost no violent crime. Nashville and Memphis and any of the larger cities are nothing like the Real America here in rural Tennessee. There is no racism here, no wokeness, just good people living in a community. It was like going back to the 80s. Could not be happier! Also, it is beautiful here. ps Tennesseans'; don't worry, I left CA for a reason, and left it in the rear view mirror.

Some are lazy and vulgar, but that’s not very common. I have found my final home here in a small town of 1400 people and I love it. Don’t like Nashville or Memphis. Too rushed. Too many people. Too much noise and too much crime. But Gleason is peaceful and quiet. It’s just like Mayberry in the Andy Griffith Show. You can almost see Andy, Barney, and Opie walking down the street.
