The issue with the moat: The AIs have a certain unit they use for digging, mostly pikemen or slaves and they only recruit a certain nimber. That‘s why when Lionheart attacked with growing numbers, he always kept only a few pikemen for digging who got killed very easily. Other Pikemen in the „main army“ are not used for digging. Therefore the rest of his army just stood around useless when the first pikemen were killed. Also, the AIs only recruit these digging units when they target another AI with a moat. That‘s why the Abbot or Frederick used pikemen, which they normally wouldn‘t recruit at all. Many bugs and other issues can be resolved by using the Unofficial Crusader Patch. Have you tried it?
Im not sure, but Nizar as solo opponent seems weak, but as support ally he's really good. Good economy,, fire balistas, and if its right time, his horse of assasins combine with other lord's troops are really dsngerous
