That house is being fumigated. It either has termites or another bug problem. The house can be tented and sealed, then they spray the inside with some sort of insecticide. It doesn't happen very often but it is effective. The people and pets leave for a 24hr period. Gas and electricity is turned off at this time.....

There a scene in the TV series Breaking Bad, where the meth making team needs a new place to make their product, and before they locate their next permanent lab location they pretend to be a bug extermination company. The rationale being that no one will bother them while the house is being "fumigated", nor will they question the smell of noxious chemicals.

Why would someone complain about having someone wait on you hand and foot. It’s one of the best things about the U.S. We love having our orders taken in a timely manner, we like being able to make special requests, have items made to our specific taste, not having to wait for water or drinks to arrive before our meals, not to have to eat food that sat on a counter to get cold because the staff was apathetic about their jobs, receiving more than enough for most meals, getting to-go bags, wait staff that service the table throughout the meal to ask if you need or want anything. Etc, etc. Dining out is suppose to be pleasant and relaxing. American eateries for the most part make that experience happen. And, we usually don’t have to wait an hour for a disinterested lazy staff member to bring our checks to us. Thank you to all restaurant staff who work diligently to make our dining experiences stress free, enjoyable, who put a smile on their face when their feet, legs hurt, are having a bad day, personal issues, etc. And, those that like to chat up their guests for a few minutes of fun and laughter which generally Americans enjoy. It’s much appreciated! Foreigner’s that don’t enjoy or complain about our dining culture are fine. They can do it their way. We will continue to do it in a more cordial, pleasant, relaxing, atmosphere. 😁

It's why tipping at restaurants has been so successful. Most like to pay (and reward) for good service. I guess our culture may be changing, though, with all the low wage talk (or I'm watching too many European Reacts videos). Servers used to make good money, and if they were in a restaurant that wasn't producing the customer base to make the tips they want, they'd move along to another restaurant. My friends that worked in restaurants were "rich" compared to me, and many had their days free if they wanted, and they were easily able to switch shifts with people when they wanted to go do fun stuff...seemed pretty glamorous...oh, and there were always hot girls around.

It's probably just a culture shock for them. Some things we have grown up with, so they just make sense to us. It's hard to wrap your brain around a concept that is foreign. I am sure most could be won over by the experience if they lived in the USA for several years.

Dining in Europe is a very relaxing experience. You can actually take your time and enjoy our meal, sometimes for a couple of hours. American restaurants want you in and out as quick as possible so they can seat more tables and servers can get more tips.

Beer in gas stations varies state by state. Each state has its own liquor laws. They are generally becoming more permissive. When I was a kid, alcohol in Pennsylvania wasn't sold in supermarkets but only through distributors or state stores. They recently passed a law to allow beer sales in markets. When I was in college in Tennessee, the county where the college was located was dry. They didn't sell alcohol outside private clubs. Now, beer and wine is the markets. When I started grad school in Texas in the late 80's, they sold beer and wine in groceries and had drive through bars, that could serve passengers. It was a shock for me. Now there are much stricter container laws in Texas.

The price of gas does vary quite a bit from state to state, but it really has more to do with taxes, and access to refineries, than oil production. Texas does have the cheapest gas, currently at $2.69 per US gallon, while California is the most expensive at $4.70 per US gallon. This converts to 0.69 Euros and 1.12 Euros per litre.

Some states, particularly Louisiana has drive throughs for alcohol. You can get daiquiris with high alcohol content handed to you with a straw without leaving your car. Also most every gas station has a beer cave that you walk in and pick out you're favorite 12 pack of beer. Practically all gas stations have beer. In Louisiana all gas stations also have spirits (whiskey, Bourbon). Golf- I have a part time job at a golf course (I work there for tree golf) . And yes we have alligators on the course. They often feature these small ponds called "water challenges" and have big, grassy areas to bask on, so there are a lot of alligators on golf courses in America. The building wrap is a pest control system. The house was sealed so that it could be fumigated. It's flooded with poison that will harm the pests (usually bedbugs, termites, or certain kinds of roaches), but sometimes it has a side-effect of destroying the oxygen inside the home because some critters can survive just about any commercially available poison. So if the poison doesn't snuff them out, they'll die of suffocation. Got to keep the fresh air out, the bad air and the bugs themselves in.

Of course they have bad days, who doesn't, but even people who don't get tips are friendly and helpful. How would you explain that if it wasn't normal? Yes we do sell beer at the gas station but we also have open container laws, if there's an open container within reach of the driver that can get you arrested. My favorite is we sell milk, icecream and pizza at the pharmacy. You can go in the pharmacy anytime and buy whatever and not even go near where the pharmacists fill your prescriptions. Gas prices vary by state and even within a state. Yes oil producing states can be lower but state taxes and state environmental regs often play as big or a bigger part in prices. The three lowest avg prices for regular gas right now is Mississippi the lowest ($2.749 a US gallon), then Tennessee ($2.758) the 2nd lowest and Texas the 3rd lowest ($2.759). The highest three are California ($4.769), then Hawaii ($4.635), then Washington state ($4.152). But I can tell you the closest gas station to us in a Seattle suburb is $4.59 right now. I’m old enough to remember gas being under a buck a gallon when I first started driving in 1992. Very nice people and sensible thoughts but I can’t fathom driving or bussing from Canada to Florida or the Carolinas rather than flying!!

-This video was made three years ago. -Alcohol sales vary by state. -The wrapped house is being fumigated. Maybe for termites. -Our gas is cheap compared to most places in the world because it isn't taxed to death. (Except for states like California). Plus, we produce and refine our own oil. The biggest part of European gas prices are your penalizing, exorbitant, manipulative government taxes!!!! -Some golf courses are municipal/public and set up for the average person to play and afford. Fancy private country club courses are where the money is, and the rich people play. -These two are downright sleepy. They've been holed up in Canada too long . -I'm in N Minnesota and we get a TON of Canadian shoppers down here. Their dollar isn't worth much against the American dollar, but our prices are much lower, and the selection/variety is much better in the U.S. -I hate shopping, so outlet malls have zero appeal for me. And really, their decent stuff isn't all that cheap. It's mostly clothes, and how many clothes does anybody need. -Fast food isn't cheap anymore thanks to Biden and the Democrats. -I fly the flag every day in my front yard on a 20 foot pole because I am a proud American, and my dad, a Korean War Vet, always did the same at his house.

oil prices in the usa have more to do with the federal, state, and municipal taxes. these are such a major part of the price and its by percentage so when the gas price goes up, so do the taxes.

We don’t have many gas stations that are just selling gas. They sell hot or cold ready to eat food, candy, snacks, sodas, bottles of water, souvenirs etc. In places like Buc-ees, they sell ready made sandwiches, candy, salads, jerky…..it’s soooooooo good I love Wal-Mart. They have great birthday cakes.

Gas prices vary across the country. Some of it is because each state applies taxes to gas purchases that vary from one state to another. Some of it may be because of laws they have in place that drive up the price of gas. Typically gas is more expensive in larger cities and California.

16:00 - they are saying 'outlet malls' - originally they were groups of stores operated either by the manufacturers or under special contracts. Originally the factories would have outlet stores at the factories where they would sell products with some defect so that they could not sell them at full price. I remember my family going to the Hushpuppy Shoes factory outlet store in Michigan in the 60s. Then promoters developed outlet malls so that bargain hunters could find a lot in one place. and ... 7 - for covering the couples bus tour.

Each state has different laws about selling alcohol. In the state of New Jersey, alcohol is only sold in "Liquor stores" or supermarkets that have a separate liquor department away from the rest of the store. It is not sold there in convenience stores or gas stations. Some counties in America, particularly in the Southern "Bible Belt" have counties where the sale of alcohol is completely illegal. And some states prohibit sales on Sundays.

We sure do!! Also, the prices on everything have gone way up in the last four years.

Bus trips can be fun but they are mostly destination trips. These are not for your first visit to America. You will on the bus for hours and hours and hours. If you see something interesting along the side of the road you won’t be able to pull over and check it out. You won’t be able to stop and just walk around to stretch your legs. If you are not used to being in a vehicle for hours at a time you will be exhausted and just want to sleep. And the number 1 reason is the toilet is disgusting and gets worse the longer you are on the bus. I hope you have a great trip, decide what you want to focus on and don’t spend a lot of time traveling. My opinion is that cities are cities whenever you go. Visit the world in the fly-over states.

Yes…you can go on bus trips to any destination you choose. My cousin that lives in Canada crosses the border to the US just to shop for everything they need since it’s way cheaper here. Clearance & sale items at end of the season are a fun way to shop since it’s drastically reduced. Yes Andre, you can find coupons for fast food restaurants for a discounted price. Gas stations are obsolete, so there really is no "beer in a gas station." They've all been replaced with convenience stores, where selling gasoline is secondary to conveniently picking up a few items on your way home from work. You used to be able to get your points gapped or tires rotated while getting a few gallons of gas, but that's been replaced with selling cigarettes and lottery tickets.

I can relate to a lot of this. Many years ago I golfed in South Carolina and there could be seen big gators about 50 feet from the golf course and on the course. I see she's wearing a Daytona Beach Shores T-shirt, where my parents retired and I live about an hour and a half away. Plenty of things to do in this area. Many Europeans come to Orlando's outlet malls for the deals, which amaze me. It's not like it's a short trip across the Atlantic.

For years I would look at a gas station flying a giant American flag and be disgusted that it was being used cynically to get attention and make more sales. These days giant flags are so ubiquitous that they don’t get the same attention and it’s not so nakedly commercial. Another softening factor is that in many places the unAmerican Confederate flag is transgressively flown in many parts of the South including in Kentucky right across the Ohio River from Illinois. I’d much rather see Old Glory instead.
