You've actually given me the idea of traveling from Amsterdam to London for a day of 2 and then from London to Paris for a few days an from Paris to Amsterdam. Don't care about the meals but the waiting lines and lounge I'm willing to pay extra.

Nice video, yes you can go upstairs in the lounge as there is a cocktail bar up there. I used to travel Standard when I started using the service in 1999 then went onto Standard Premier but these days I always go by Business Class. To me it’s worth it especially to avoid to check in queue and the lounge. But hopefully you got to use the Business lounge in Paris because the Lounge is much better than the London one.

Got to love getting a good experience without spending cash on it! I have fond memories of the first time I went on Eurostar as a day trip in Paris for a friend's birthday - she managed to get us all access to the lounge in Paris and it was fantastic, such a luxurious start to a journey and so peaceful after the chaos of Gare du Nord!

Am I the only person who never even thought about travelling by Eurostar and now wants to?😂😂😂It makes no sense to travel thìs way for us, flying is the way, but looks great. £250 though? Ermmmmm if it was just me😂

you can go upstair, there is more seating and a bar counter, also seats are different in std and business premier

I went standard premier and the chairs are basically the same but we had a table seat where there’s two on either side and we had one meal and one desert which was a donut, and drinks. However No lounge access and no priority check in lane obviously.

I'd definitely have grabbed a croissant! I was like a kid staring into a sweet shop on my last trip to DLP as there were no seats in the waiting room and I was right opposite the Business Premier lounge!

Hi Sam , I’ve always wondered what it’d be like to travel business class , so it was so interesting watching. I love the lounge , very very nice & such great service onboard with the meal . But, for me when I travel to DLP I always treat myself to Standard Premier which suits me ( but I admit it is pretty pricey at the moment , another trip planned at the end of Sept 🙌😊 ) And I also admit the news of them suspending the direct Eurostar to DLP from next June , ( put me in a panic for a few days , goodness knows why as I use trains a lot in the U.K. & think nothing of changing trains - sometimes 4 times to get to where I’m going . But At some point Sam , could you possibly make a video regarding changing at Lille on route to DLP as I’m sure it would be so helpful & appreciated 🙌😍 thanks x

I used to go to DLP by coach but I always fly now. Eurostar may well be an option now....thank you. I do have a few questions though, please... Is the food in the lounge & on the train free? (ie included in the cost) I take it this train goes through the eurotunnel? Are there any large tables in the business class carriage? And is there quite a bit of space for luggage on the carriages too? Many thanks. PS I don't think that's a bad price at all tbh.

I have booked for next year and to upgrade to SP they wanted an extra £80 each... don't want to think about BP 😅😅😃

Hey Sam, it's funny to see this video. I was reading yesterday that Eurostar are going to stop running trains to Marne-La-Vallee, meaning that the only option will be to go via Paris Gare du nord. I really feel like Eurostar are in a bit of trouble. They announced a few days ago that the stations in Kent will not be reopening before 2025 (if ever again) and now they will stop the trains to Disneyland. Have you noticed any changes over the last couple of months?

Business class lounge in London its free food or you have to pay?

There was no information on how to check in luggage or how to accommodate it on board.

Nice to see the difference. We've used Standard Premier on the direct trains a couple of times, but our next trip is standard only, and we have a change in Lille on one direction too, so trying it all out. Would be nice to hear your thoughts on the change at Lille. Thanks Sam for another informative video.

Mmm not sure Sam . Do you think they could try to give a choice for the starters and sweets? Can’t help thinking that some fussy eaters would struggle with the menu. I have been premier class and back in 2007 ,went first class to Paris and was really happy with the experience at £60 per head. Great value then. Seems they may have re thought their position.

Ok you all might think I am replying as a "spoiled American", and maybe to a small extent you are correct, but my husband and I do have health issues we bring into our decisions when we purchase either train or plane tickets, so more than likely we would say "yes we would pay the £245". However though; to be fair; listing out everything you receive for that money; if you think about each and every item; it does indeed make the price seem very frugal. For example; a person paying the £100 for the standard tickets; they would still need to purchase food if; like you they were hungry, so ask yourself, what is the average price AND QUALITY for the food purchased in the restaurants located in or near the train station? Then there is the lounge access; now for people like my husband and I who have to deal with stress, anxiety and even depression on a regular basis; having a quieter place to sit while we are waiting for the train helps to keep us from having to spend extra money on things to help us relax and unwind once the trip is done. Those features alone make the price for the Premier experience well worth it, especially if you try and compare it to what we might pay for Amtrak here in the US. Since I live in Hartford, CT. I would either have to drive to NYC and catch the train from there in order to go right to First Class on the Acela train, or I would have to settle for Business class all the way from Hartford to Washington, DC; OR I would have to do Business class from Hartford to NYC and then have a seperate ticket for First Class on Acela from NYC to Washington DC... either way the cost does get higher than the Premier class ticket you had for very similar benefits... Just over $400. (Please note that here in the US; Business Class is a LOWER class of travel for both planes and trains).

It's worth it for the convenience, private lounge, dining, and no queue times! I wish you had tasted the passion fruit pudding because it will end up in the bin. Clean plate club, Sam!
