On this episode we take a closer look at a Eurostar EV97, covering some of the regular inspection items, Mandatory Permit Directives and common issues with an inspection on this plane type. Mark discovers some common faults on a Rotax 912 and finishes with a stunning check flight.
If you own a Team Eurostar EV97 you can find the maintenance manual here: urheiluilmailuopisto.fi/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/ev97-maintmanualandpoh.pdf

Always good to see what actually goes into a aircraft inspection. No magical torch waving done here ;)

Yeah, the fuel pump is one of those things that is time limited along with all the rubbers. I'm in the midst of doing all of that and it sucks! The fuel lines were getting a bit hard so it does make sense to get rid of them but it is a LOT of work on the wing tank version Sportstar with tight access in the wing roots. The coolant hoses aren't too bad and there aren't many oil lines so not a problem. For a simple airplane, it still takes time and diligence at the same level as applied to the legacy certified fleet aircraft.

Most rubber parts should be replaced every five years regardless but we’re finding it’s much sooner than that

Another insightful and interesting video - thanks for posting 👍😊 Out of Eg, C42, Skyranger Swift and Eurostar (EV97) is there any one that stands out as being more reliable and/or easier to work on🤔🤔

Great video 👍. Do you prefer the maintenance or the flying ? 😁😁

That’s like asking which is your favourite child! My love for flying has been rekindled since I bought my single seat Flex, but I love seen planes transformed.

On the VNE dive, how close do you come to VNE?

Normally I would try and achieve VNE, but for a check flight you need to be within 5

I'm not convinced there is any link between rear bulkhead cracking and moving the plane around by the vertical stabilizer. It was a possibility that was suggested but I don't think there was any evidence that it could cause it

So what was the outcome with the AC fuel pump?
@wingnutshomeofmicromainten6946
It needed to be replaced
