You worked so hard to get there! I cried at the end when you hugged your dad. The whole world knows how it feels to reunite after a long absence…love and gratitude.
This was an awesome video , going through the tunnel was the best , Holly's nose on the dashboard and finally arriving to hug dad , I had tears in my eyes , bless you all ❣
Omg,I felt the customs pressure and was holding my breath with you. That must have been so stressful! I'm glad it all worked out and that you arrived safely. Loved the drone footage in France and learning about the euro tunnel. ❤️❤️❤️
The new "normal". What a world we're living in! Delighted that you made it to your Dad's house - I'm almost as delighted as Holly obviously was. It's no surprise that everyone loves her, she's a little sweetheart.
I thought the same. When I saw you check-in at the Pet Reception, I was not sure if Holly would be in a separate area as they have with the ferries. I was relieved when I saw Holly with you in your car's passenger compartment, as I know she feels most happy and secure when she is with you.
I cried at the end - we drive from England to Portugal ( and back again!) every year but this year was very emotional as well. Tests and border controls! I could feel your stress! There is something very magical about car journeys across countries. Thank you!
The stress this trip caused...me! LOL Carlo cracked me up when he gave options for proof of a child and Holly's face when she thought she was being left in the car when you swapped drivers and then finally making it to your parent's home! So many emotions!! Thanks for sharing!
Oh my god this vlog Took me through so many emotions I was sad thinking you were not going to be able to make it across I was worried for Carlos And then Carlos had me laughing I'm so happy that you were all three able to make it through. I'm gonna need a drink after this I just love you both Continue your safe travels .
I cried at the end too when you hugged your Dad! So happy for you and your family to be together. Also, you and Carlo are both so calm dealing with all the border controls. Enjoy your much deserved time with family. ❤️❤️
Beautiful heartwarming ending - really happy you both made it across. The rule change caught several people out, and I think it was unfair of the French government to impose these restrictions just before the holidays with very little notice.
Thank you and Carlo for being the bright light in our Covid Tunnel… so glad you were able to get through the tunnel to your Dad !! Holly is the best !!!
So glad you made it to your dad’s safely! He looks well and you all look very happy to be reunited. Can’t wait to see the next vlog! Happy New Year from Canada 🇨🇦 🥳🥰🙏
I'm having a nervous breakdown just watching this!!! What a nightmare for you all. So happy you got there ❤ Now I'm having anxiety waiting to see if you got back...ha! I'm praying everyone got back to Positano safe and healthy.
This was very emotional for so many it seems, including me. As a Brit who hasn't been home since 2017 and lives in Canada, it is lovely to live vicariously through you . My Mum is 80 and what I wouldn't give to hug her again. Your Dad looks lovely . Thank you so much for sharing .. your channel is my favourite. Happy New Year !
You mean driving through beautiful countries, driving their car to sit in a train to go through a tunnel under the sea is senseless? Or checking in her dog and the border patrol? Every country on earth has had border check ins for several decades. It’s not senseless, it has always precaution for countries to be safe. If you don’t know the reason, look it up, do research and you’ll understand why. If you don’t want all that, go out there and do something about it.
In Japan there is a saying- “your daily actions will show you what will bring in the future”. You and your family deserve your vacation with your dad! Of course including Holly!
How lovely to be together again with your dad. Made me feel emotional as well. I so miss my sons and their families in the UK as well. What a trip so glad you arrived safely.
I was thrilled and tearful when you got hug your dad❣ So happy you were able to make it home to England ‼ Holly was adorable with her chin on the dashboard. Carlo was funny when trying to offer proof they had a child together 😁 So happy it all worked out. These are tough times..... Sending love from across the pond♥️♥️
My delight in having found your channel a few years ago continues on (along with a good dose of envy). I’m so impressed & grateful for all the work you guys do to bring the beauty of your lives & your part of the world to us. Especially loving the new direction your lives are talking. And, especially loving Carlos’ mastery of English. But, then, through the years I’ve been so in awe of everything that guy does. Wishing all good things to come to you all in this brand new year… including good health.
That was so lovely! Im sure we all suffered along with you in your going through Customs! So happy you are safely in England and I hope the return is less stressful. And here’s to the best for 2022, stay safe!🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
Carlos' drone shots are really good! It is such fun to see from your camera and the drone. Europe really goes all out w/ decorating for the holidays....stunning!
So happy you made it through “everywhere” to get to your Dad’s. Happy Christmas (belatedly) with him and your family). I have really enjoyed this journey with you and Carlo. The videography of each town/village/roads that you took to show us was amazing! Beautiful! Thank you so much. Look forward to the journey with you all in 2022.
Being from the States (New Jersey and now living in North Carolina), this is so fascinating to me to watch how you travel from country to country. Great informative video!
Thank you for explaining how the Chunnel works. I had no idea that you got on a train to go through. And only 20 minutes, that's fast. When people don't expect others have the knowledge or experience and take the time to explain how it works they do others a kindness. Also, Carlo's drone shots in the town at sunset were fabulous. Catching the moon rise was special. Thank you Carlo!!
Omg! Scary drive just to get to England. Glad you made it safe. Carlo's English is getting good. Holly so funny. She looked like she was bored in the car! She is one lucky dog that she has you! Have fun with your family in England! Hugs❤
So emotional to see you hugging your Dad. All those headaches but you made it. Holly is such a good traveler. Now waiting on Skye and crew. Enjoy your vacation. 😘 Till Sunday.
I can't believe you used to work in Cullen's in Weybridge! In high school I stayed with a friend in St. George's Hill and we'd walk or take our bikes over to Cullen's and eat the hot bread and drink some of their crazy fizzy waters, like clear flavored plastic cans from Iceland. I think there was a Safeway there too, but we went to Cullen's a lot. We'd go to Wimbledon and other local attractions. We'd go to Cobham for school sports tournaments at ACS. The summers of 1990 & 1991 we're especially fun there.
So happy you got to see your father! Wow , what a trip. Very different than my life here on our ranch. Thank you so much for all the amazing videos. I would never know how diversified and beautiful our world is. Thank you again and Happy New Year.
Very true, these types of videos expand our thought process and able to view things in a different perspective. After all, humans are the same social animals wanting to be loved and cared.
What an “adventure” travel has become. The rules keep on changing! So glad you made it home. I think my wishes to see family in Italy will have to wait for quite awhile.
For me, this has to be better than traveling. Carlos flying his drone, holly, videos. No crowds, customs, to deal with. List goes on. Makes it fun and enjoyable.
That must have been so anxious for you, but you and Carlo made it lighthearted too! Great to see your dad. I see more jam going back with you to Italy. Happy New Year to all!
Love how you punched up the word “pretended” to explain your last chateau visit to those with irony deficiency! This was such a perfect leap from vlog to filmmaking. I so appreciate the laugh out loud moments-Carlo and Holly for entirely different reasons. Thanks for sharing, all three of you.
Holly's face when you were in the car and petting him was priceless! Not to mention, Nicki's reaction when Carlo said he was "able to drive in England". That face is all of us when our partners overstate their abilities!! I, too, got a little emotional seeing your dad, knowing that he would have you with him on the holidays and beyond. I can imagine this pandemic being so tough for people who live alone. Enjoy your time with your family!
Ok why .. am I crying at this ending.. seeing you and Carlo hug your Dad.. ❤️❤️.. I couldn’t do it .. the stress you have to endure during times of Covid travel probably too much for me…. You two are amazing! Love your journeys !!
I used to cross the channel constantly, living and working in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. I gave up with the Chunnel because I found it terribly boring. I ended up simply using the ferry and, although it took a little longer, the getting out of the car, stretching my legs wandering around the boat, watching the coast arrive if the weather permitted, maybe getting a meal and a coffee, is a far more pleasant experience.
Hi Nicki, Carlo and Holly. What a performance to get into England.!! That was hard work. All that uploading and pages to fill in. Troyes looks amazing. And a Christmas Market. Was that Carlo and his drone work.? Perfetto. Carlo did make me laugh. "How can we prove we have a child together. ". Ha ha. . . Awwww your dad was cute at the end of video. Bless him 🙏. Thankfully you got through. 💙💙💙
Awe! This was such a good video! Nikki-the vlogmas content-as time consuming as it was for you really elevated your content this past month (imo). It was good before but these Dec/Jan vids have been so great and your energy is inspiring!
I can’t get over how much English Carlo is speaking! It’s wonderful to be able to look at him while he’s speaking instead of reading subtitles. I hope after spending time in England he will feel confident enough to do vlogs in English. This makes me very happy. Good job, Carlo.👍🏼👍🏼🥰🥰
This is the practice run for tis coming down the pike. Keep those hens healthy and the daughter close to home this year. Thank you for all your hard work!
So glad for you both, and your dad too, that you made it back to England without too much red tape drama. Hope the return trip does not cause you any headaches with all the changes to the rules and systems that take place. In the mean time trust you had a lovely family time all together. May 2022 be healthy, happy, and full of new adventures.
So glad y’all finally made it & was so precious to see your Dad with you, enjoy your time. Family time is so precious. Again I want to thank you for sharing your trip.,
Love this!! So miss UK and all family in it. We’re utterly locked down in Canada! This makes zero sense! So glad you are able to enjoy this! Hope your continuing to have a fun time!!
Like so many others, I had tears when you got to your dads house. I think after the past two years I will never take for granted seeing friends and family again. I’m so happy you made it to the UK.
So very delightfully English to see your Dad greet Holly before you. Makes me miss going home to England to see my Dad - he passed 13 years ago. Have a wonderful time.
Love that you shared the experience! Last time I was in Europe driving around I could barely notice that a border was crossed!! Just after a little while the style of building s changed and signs went from French to German and back again.... I loved an OPEN Europe! Seriously they Plandemic changed everything and it's not about our health anymore... we did everything "they" asked and we are still being treated like peasants! OK... enough venting... Just a big SIGH of relief that you made it and that hug from dad made the stress worth it right?? Love your channel.... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
I CANNOT THANK YOU enough! I feel as if I went on this journey with you guys!! I was stressed at the border with you!! lol. found myself holding my breath when we journey under the water! I was happy to see your father, and looked forward to his jams!! 👋 have a beautiful time.
I just came back from Canada and understand full well the border and testing issues which all changed from the time I planned my trip. It was all worth it to see my family after 2 years. Enjoy your time with loved ones and stock up on chocolate!
Ending this crying....and he's not even MY dad! Soooo happy to see your dad there. The whole vid was lovely! The 🎶 was spot on - as always. So perfect I have to play it back to hear it separately. I always wondered how the tunnel worked, even though I didn't ask. Thank you. I'm starting Twelfth Night celebrations. Happy Twelfth Night and Epiphany/Feast of Kings, if you celebrate.
Absolutely loved watching today's video! So cool how the Eurotunnel works I had no idea so very fun to watch! First time commenting for this Canadian girl
Very emotional to watch Nicki , Carlo & Holly on your journey back here to the UK and finally you found your Dad x Few tears , would have been my Dad's birthday today . So it was heartfelt to watch you and lovely that you allowed us to watch you and your Dad's greeting 💕 xx
That was so good. I too got a little misty when you hugged your Dad. Carlo great job, the drone coverage in France was amazing. I can't stop writing. Loved it.❤
Great stuff Nicki…..so glad that you will be spending time with your dad….its actually so nice to share with him some moments…..this is what life is all about at the end of the day, never forget the ones that brought us to this life as they need us now more than ever. Lots of love to both of you
That last leg of your journey was nerve-wracking! Nicki, you look a lot like your dad. He seems like a lovely person. I hope your holiday was everything you wished it would be.
That's was amazing Nikki and Carlos! As expats we were curiously waiting for your next video to see what happened during your travel to England. Having never been through the Chunnel we wonder if travel through Europe is now changed forever?? We were astonished at what it entails to travel in Europe (and with family pets)! I felt it was like watching ' Swiss Watch precision' and piece by piece it all came together!! @ haha .... you did it! Precision timing and nerves of steel, not to mention all the paperwork ect!! phew..is this the new normal??? As crazy at it seemed, you both did so well. Aguri Carlo, your English is greatly improved and we wait expectantly to see how the next stage of the journey and life changes progress? I must add how sad that our world has changed so dramatically with Covid :( We wish you every good thing for the future Carlo and Nikki. Thank you for sharing! A Scot/Italian and an Englishman.😃
Ughh that hug and walk into the home has me teary eyed. I’m so glad you made it home for the holidays and were able to be with family. What a nerve wrecking trip. I miss my family so much and can’t wait to hug them all when I return home this year. If you need a place to stay on your way back home, I am more than happy to host you guys in Aix en Provence. Bonne Année🎊
