The second part of the full voting of the 1970 Eurovision Song Contest, with English (Ireland) commentary and in this part the votes from: - United Kingdom - Luxembourg - Spain - Monaco - Germany - Ireland
the commentator says, irish spokesperson cannot know how the others vote. irish spokesmen says: "this is a very cheerful dublin calling" - how is that possible?
Dana + Mary Hopkin are adorable together! I personally think the best 3 songs of 1970 were the eventual Top 3, regardless what order of positions it was... Ireland, UK + Germany had wonderful entries all worthy of winning. The contest in general wasn't that great nor exciting mainly due to the significant low number of participating countries after Finland, Norway, Portugal + Sweden bottled out in protest after the previous year's 4 way tie, the voting would've been more memorable and surprising if Belgium were last to announce their points.
Because Ireland is the last jury to call, they are probably about to win - Mary Hopkin should have the maximum 10 points from Ireland to win, and since the spokesperson already of course know the Irish vote, he is able to (in a very explicit way) declare that Dana has won.
GB 26 IRE 32 That is more than the rest put together, poor Netherlands was terrible, some of the songs over the years you think if that country voted for that one what were the rest like, like how bad must they have been, I know the songs are supposed to be folk songs that represent the county but after about 74 that was out the window, bucks fizz brotherhood of man etc
It was the jury that didn't know the votes, the votes were all cast at the same time , the commentator of course kneew as he was watching it live like everyone and commentating , think
@@johnnymaguire People love to create a conspiracy!... They all think because they watched an episode of Miss Marple then they "find' something to investigate.... pisses me right off....
