She was 16 performing in front of such a big audience for the first time and representing a whole country. Of course she was nervous. If I were her, I would pass out 😆
I was 14 years old when I watched this on TV and I LOVED everything about it! Her hair, her outfit, her makeup! To this day (23 years later) I have never forgotten this performance and I still love the whole look! :D
I love the overflowing 1998-2001 vibes in this video. Everything, from the song with the dramatic chorus, to the style of singing, to the outfit, to the dancing, it's all so late 90s and early 2000s.
I love how 90's this looks: Showing the bellybutton, the way the two fit background dancers dance. The white line down the sides of their pants. The sound. Everything. I don't know if I'm biased because I was a kid back then, but those times seemed much simpler and free-spirited. Now it seems like you can't do anything right anymore.
The bellty button trend went on far into 2000's: britney, aguilera, shakira, j lo, spice girls all sported bare stomachs for a few more years. I would not say the bare belly button was a 90's trend.
@@alanmalan3819 тебе никто не задавал вопроса, кто она по национальности. Если уж на то пошло, она живёт в Лос-Анджелесе, замужем за евреем. Так что, плевать ей на её корни, если она вышла замуж за еврея.
Im Danish, Denmark won that year. I remember rooting for Russia becouse every time they Got 12 points she would jump from excitement. Her top nearly fell off.. Ahh, those Were the days..
I remember that as well! Watching this as a 14 year old boy made an... impression, to say the least. I remember being gutted that your Danish lads won, but in hindsight they probably deserved it, haha
Hard to take people like you serious, who deny mass killings and claim Kosovo is Serbian when the whole World know it’s not 😂😂 And yes the winner was better than Russia
It mind sounds dated now but back in 2000 this actually sounded the most modern out of all 24 songs competed that year, even the winning song that year sounds like it was from the 80s even though it's a good song.
Am I the only one who is watching 2:12 in repeat cause the synchronised move is AMAZING?? It was like.. together without missing a second!!! I love it!!!
If this is the best one I dont want to hear the others. Unbelievable this disgrace of song got the second position. it is boring, and the singer constantly out of tune. If you can't sing properly, I wonder how you get to go to Eurovision.
Give with women an oscar Performing on a stage at 16 with loads of people and getting top 3 is just great for her I would just die so much And the song is great
I remember being at Samarkand railway station in 2000 and a girl started singing this song. Maybe she thought I was a foreigner and wanted to show that she could some English or maybe she was ethnic Russian and proud of Russia getting so far at the Eurovision Song Contest. If I had known about the contest and the winning song, I could have sung my country's winning contribution afterwards.
i'm just 15 years old then, after a tiring day (saturday), and when i started reading my lessons for school, suddenly i hear this song and dance to it. I knew it was called "Solo" , But I didn't know the singer. Alsou just rocks and her singing is better than the Danish and Latvian ones.
@@Gizemkorkmaz01 Turkish are you!!! Just so you're clear, donkey, Russia is a multinational country. And all these ethnic groups have been with Russia for many centuries in which they have become Russified.
I haven't really listened to many Eurovison songs past this year, but maybe has this inspired other people? It just sounds so similar to other songs lol
At the first blush, when I watched it on TV, the style and the staging reminded me of "Anabel Conde" and I told to myself: "it will become second". My guess was right. To put all her efforts into job and to put everything one has into. Putting your back into It. Hammer and tongs. Doing the utmost effort (the all-out effort), making your best, doing your utmost, doing your best. Going all out. Digging into something: hincarle a algo el diente We all dig in with will: todos nosotros trabajamos con ahínco Spanish idiom equalled: "poner toda la carne en el asador". Thank you.
That's how 16 years old girl from Russia got 2nd place. Now, I'm 16 ( nearly 17 ) years old boy understand that my is totally boring (ok, not so, but most of all).
