thank you all for watching this video, really appreciate the Eurovision love and the folks who have NO IDEA what’s happening and are watching anyway. I love Eurovision and I’m not throwing shade on any competing nation by making this video. Until next year in Italy! 💖🏳️⚧️🌍🌏🌎🏳️🌈💖
@@christianalvarez9635 Um sir these are RU-vid comments and everyone has a right to type whatever they want. I don't know who are you to take away that right from me?
yes I am an American who strives to learn more about other cultures but just from this video, I think I need to do a lot more research to fully understand what's going on (though for some of the performances I'm not sure anyone can truly tell lol)
@@heehee5472 I'm not taking away any rights, you can do whatever you want, I'm not forcing you. I'm just saying, don't waste your voice mocking somebody else's sense of humor. It's not cool and it isn't helping anyone. Say what you want, just try being a decent person.
@@leonievasa Jenrik is a real sweetheart, imo. The message of the song wasn't bad either and it's a funny song... However, it was too childish for my taste. But hey - everybody has different opinions and that's fine :)
@@MissMoontree don't know about netherlands and england but as a german, I can confirm that I had no clue who our singer was and I am convinced that his plan didn't involve winning at any point. He was probably there to goof off only
I'm Dutch, and for us it wasn't necessarily about winning, it was more to make a statement. The singer is from Suriname, a former Dutch colony. His song wasn't in Dutch, but in the native language of Suriname. It was kind of a statement towards the period of time where Suriname was used for slavery and the like
Yeah, there are songs, performances and light shows that are genuinely great, and there are the ones that are so bad, that they are great again. The middle ground is very small, so you are mostly watching high end entertainment, whether it was planned or not.
I wonder what Graham will say when he'll have to cover the Italian Eurovision next year. We have a penchant for super long shows, the Sanremo finale lasted 6h last year 💀
One thing I often think about is when the Swedish commentator after I don't feel hate said: "That was "I don't feel hate" from Germany, I wonder what you feel after listening to that"
Btw, that was not just any Swedish commentor, but Edward af Sillén, the guy who wrote the script for Petra for Eurovision 2013, and for Petra and Måns for Eurovision 2016, including songs like "Love, Love, Peace, Peace". He´s really funny! (And the other Swedish commentator this year was Christer Björkman).
I'm German and Germany seems to always send the bad ones (or we don't have any good ones). I cringe so hard at this years performance. The other times I saw Eurovision the Germans were just not good, but this year they were awful.
in Italy, after Måneskin's final performance, one of the commentators screamed that he was gonna undress if they won, so you can guess what happened next lol
@@ftlouim yep! he only took off his skirt, but still, it was live tv so it made quite the impression :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VmFlAy05BQg.html
It was so strange to hear him crack jokes and make fun of the artist. In Denmark they just comment on the show and give some background information. This is way funnier 😂
Manizha’s fluffy dress is a symbol of the labels that hung on the woman, which hinder her movements. And Manizha coming out of the dress throws these labels off... allowing herself to be who she wants to be and do what she wants to do. This is so inspiring. Her performance is amazing. I’m so sorry she is underrated.
Emma None well I’m russian and I can tell that there is no real “russians” here, because of our history we all are half asians, tajik, romans, slavic, even black, the most famous russian writer - pushkin - is half black... etc, russia is multicultural, multinational and multiracial country, I don’t know why manizha is a target for lots of people, I just don’t get it...
As the woman in the German act dressed as a hand puts her arms down and turns her back to the audience. Germany, flipping the bird to the rest of the world.
@@thejintymyster6396 In the original video it was a middlefinger costume, but it had to be the peace sign for television. They just got around the censoring by tweaking the choreogaphie.
My favourite quotes are “ next song is Greece, there’s a lot of greens screen in this but it appears she’s dancing with *laundry* “ And “ sentit has actually performed for San Marino before but given that San Marino is so small she’s doing it again. It’s almost like jury duty “
My favorite comment from the swedish commentators was: " No one knows how they persuaded Flo Rida to perform for san marino, but rumor has it that Flo Rida nowadays own entire San Marino
The german one wondered if he was cruising around and got a ticket ot something and now hes paying by doing that xD Then he said that it didnt matter since Justin Timberlake was thwre once as well, but no one rememberes
In lithuania the comemntator went nuts and gave like 20 compliments to italy in under a minute when they gave us 12 points, it was kinda hilarious "12 points! amazing! Italy is awesome! Great taste in music! Great people! Yes! Thank you! We love italy! I love italy"
You know when they went backstage to talk to some of the commentators. Yeah Finland is commentators can you just stock one of their hands at the door and in fucking a sharpie or something it was written join us. They kind of just wiggled it around and eventually peaked out just like hey you wanna talk, you can talk to us hey hey hey. This year was the best Eurovision I think I’ve ever lived to see you. Also I still cannot stop wheezing over “ finally Lithuania our only friend” hagsfgshahah
In Germany we also were like: "Oh no, now its our turn...". But it doesn't matter anyway, if a great German artist performs or a bad one because everybody hates us anyway
When Russia did that little circle in the massive dress I absolutely lost it and I couldn't look at the dress again for the rest of the night without cracking up
@@nathancreek6086 I dont understand why you have the most incredible lighting capabilities and that whole stage and you still decide to go with a green screen that looks tacky as 🙃
I discovered recently there is a traditional Russian dance where the female dancers move like they are gliding. It's mesmerising. Maybe the act was inspired by that too.
What, really?! I found him so offputting. And I live in the UK and love his show normally. He was rude to Germany and Italy. Not cheeky, not funny, just rude and dismissive. And a bit about Finland. Just because of his bland tastes... Though he made the best out of the whole "UK sending a terrible performance and getting slapped" situation, tbh.
the best part is that the day after eurovision the news complained about how the spanish budget was a fucking joke and made it real hard to make it look half as good as other countries' entries and i'm just like _did they spend their entire budget on that moon_
Honestly one of the funniest bits for me was when it came down to the public votes and Finland, Ukraine, and then Italy just sailed to the top and they kept cutting back to Gjorn’s face as these other countries with their weird songs(I loved them all) kept topping him; I just could not stop laughing because it’s like, dude! Why do you have to do him like that??! It’s so cruel! But the concept was so funny I could hardly focus on anything else. A wonderful Eurovision this year, and I’m excited for next!
@@ButterflySimmer Well, the word "it's" is a rather odd choice of words if your sentence only exists of one word. In the future, the phrase: it is, might help.
My absolutely favourite line of one of the Greek commentators was: "Th Uk the past few years had had many low places and it is also "in danger" of this happening this year. So you people watching, give them some help! If not for the song "Embers", at least do it for the Kingdom, do it for the Queen, do it for the 5 seasons of the "Crown" you watched..." I just bursed out laughing 😂😂😂😂
The english moderator is so salty i love it 😂😂, the moderation highlight in germany was when he missplaced his notes and instead of being told the introduction to bulgaria as it is supposed to be it went "ah yes as you can see, she likes animals. Nobody that likes animals can be a bad person right? Fuck where did i put my card??"
It was a parody on Russian culture and the misogyny in Russian society - that is why this song is extremely controversial in Russia. If you look at the original video and the Russian comments, you'll understand how they feel about her replacing Little Big as their representative.
@@akumayoxiruma oh, thank you for the information! Very interesting. Too bad Russia is becoming so much more misogynistic lately with for example the change in the meaning of Woman's day ..
@@rdvrlrn I’m from the UK, I absolutely loved his song. He didn’t deserve such a little amount of points. It felt like traditional Eurovision, like the songs that were still well known after Eurovision.
Yoo the guy has a tik tok and talked about and showed how all he wanted was to go to eurovision, he was so fucking hype to have made it at all!! They didn't go for points, getting into eurovision was their goal and reward and he was extatic to be there
The Italian commentators made a bet about Italy winning and had to take their pants off when Italy actually won 😂 plus all the comments during the game it made the night even better loooool
Now I'm just wondering if on the uk stream they joked about the uk getting two times zero points or if it is like the german commentator who is great at being sarcastic and throwing shade at everyone (and would be great at doing that to the german song too) but somehow seems to be not allowed to do that
He joked about us too, its was quite funny, at the start of the scoring he said "well, if we don't come last, that will be an amazing improvement!" and then when the votes came in and we were still on 0 and watching all the other countries who still had 0 as well before the public votes slowly leave us at the bottom was quite hilarious 😂
I love how the Dutch commentators just went “oi boy straight up ripped our Duncan Laurence off with that!” when Spain did its little riff. Salt was being sprinkled that day.
He went "and then there were [insert number]" a few times, then when it got to the UK he went "and then there were... oh no" EDIT: sorry, that was during jury voting
Peter Urban is fantastic too, he's just not that mean to the contestants (especially not Germany lol). I guess he isn't allowed to roast everyone as openly as Graham Norton does tho
@@littlepinkcactus Can‘t even remember. Most people enjoyed his dry humour (including my mom and I). But for real I really don‘t remember anything being rude or sth. Especially compared to moderators from other countries..😂
i really loved the san marino entry and it was a catchy song, but seeing flo rida on stage sent me. i couldn't believe an american rap artist had turned up to represent a tiny country at eurovision.
Yeah like halfway through the night the only thing the Swedish commentators talked about where the logistics of him being in fucking Eurovision. Also about how they were not sure that he would actually be there because he wanted to judge a bikini competition… what?
The funniest thing is that the German narrator tried to justify Germany's failure by saying "its concept is too complex, most Europeans probably didn't understand the depth behind it". No dude, it was just bad.
At this point I am surprised people are volunteering to represent us. I mean the majority of us doesn't even care. We would actually be surprised if we received points 😂
@@eizu.l to be fair, i care a lot because i've been such a huge eurovision fan since my childhood 😩 i'd even volunteer but i need a band for it first 😂 i'd like to do something like hatari
I love these types of compilation where you hear other countries commentators. And Graham Norton nearly said exactly what Edward af Sillén from Sweden did. I would very much enjoy a co commentary between the two of them!
@@EddusPoet Yeah, it really seems like we do! Haha, yeah I guess we have. But I'm rooting for you to get a win soon! I was honestly soo confused by the lack of votes for the UK this year.. I really liked your song, and was sure it would've at least reached top 10. I really can't understand how you didn't get any points! He took it as a champ though, and that deserves a trophy in itself 👏
Well... Actually her song is not that funny, since it is bout a strongness of Russian women cause a lot of them r beeing abused and manizha thought it would be great to introduce our main problem to the world. (u can find out about this song more on the internet if u wish because a lot of people are thinking that there is no sense or anything special in this song but there is a big meaning in it)
God I remember the Polish commentator after the Serbia semifinal results made a comment about "some people got very *excited* about that one huh and it left me cackling
