Let us know what you thought about Eurovision 2021 winner.

To the people who complain about Italy's victory, perhaps one thing is not clear: this is the Eurovision SONG Contest, not the Eurovision POP-SONG contest. Italy won with a rock song, but in the past years she has brought many genres: jazz with Gualazzi, funk with Nina Zilli, light music with Marco Mengoni, opera with Il Volo, denouncing music with Meta and Moro, pop with Gabbani, hip hop with Mahmood... does not always bring the usual pop song like many nations do. For this reason Europe just have to say thanks to Italy for the quality and variety of music she has brought in these years, and congratulate with Maneskin for the deserved victory (the numbers don't lie: 4th for the juries, 1st for the Eurovision pubblic).

Italy deserved to win. Their performance is one of the best ever on esc, and the song goes beyond esc standards. I really can't understand French people's behavior, we have images, there is no drug. A big hug from Sweden Italy.

Guys they wrote this song 5 years ago, when they were 17 and played music into the streets of Rome and nobody gave them a chance to have success. And they wrote this song to say to the world do not judge other people by appareance and that you have to believe in yourself also when "People unfortunately talk about things they don't know". Winning Eurovision with "Shut up and be quiet" means a lot for them that won also the prize as best lyrics. I hope you are going to react to other their wonderful songs as "Torna a casa" or "Vent'anni" to understand their music.

I think their winning performance was even better! So emotional, so f*cking good! Oh my poor heart.

Of course we’re gourgeous! 😉 I see no issues in expressing a preference or not. So if you don’t like them it’s perfectly fine. What is not acceptable is being mean or disrespectful, but is not your case. Everything is about respect. I like your reaction as you show what you think honestly. Hugs from Italy 🇮🇹

It was the only act which didn't feel like it was either shot in a studio or shot with a lack of audience in mind. There was no specially made piece of set just for added story telling or visuals, the drum riser for example looked practical rather than for show. Camera wise it didn't use augmented reality or a green screen. Unlike Finland there was no excessive jump cuts either so production wise it felt more authentic. I think many acts felt they needed to fill in for the lack of audience and so created more of a spectacle but the bit where the instrumental break is in this does exactly the opposite and so gives you a feeling of watching a live concert. It's just them standing around cheering on the crowd. Lighting wise too theres nothing in this to suggest it to be scripted like France and Switzerlands and all the diva numbers were. For example we start with the lights pointing straight down in the home position on open white, they then move into a Sine wave effect and then move around and flicker before going into the solo spot then changing colour a few times. No video screen, no floor video, no closeups or video effects and only the pyro's at the end to suggest it was rehearsed everything else looks like it was busked with pre made effects like you would get at a festival. The drum riser lights are a good example because it looks like someone is pulling a fader up and down to the beat of the music instead of for example Malta's act where its very clearly the Pink bit or the Yellow bit with the close up where you can tell it has been cued. All this make it feel more authentic. Music wise it has a very distinct genre that only Italy could produce. Its not for example a copy of American music or a copy of past winners. Unlike the rest of the acts there is no drop or crescendo at the end and there is no end pose. It sounds like its being played live even though it's not. The song itself even though I don't understand the words represents a mood better than the other songs. In Voila for example you know the song is going to progress to become evermore chaotic, In the Swiss Entry again its going to rise up and die down again at the end like any ballad the same could be said for the Diva songs but this has a chaotic energy which makes it more listenable. As soon as you've seen The French entry get more chaotic, or Flo Rida turn up for San Marino or Azerbaijain do the bit with the fire you know its going to happen the next time. So once you've heard it once it sounds like your done with it forever. With this song its harder to tell the verses apart which makes it more intriguing because you don't know if your going to hear the solo next or the chorus. I think because of the fact we don't get many rock songs in Eurovision and the fact they made it feel like a concert instead of a rehearsed televised musical theatre Beyoncé tribute act means this act will go on to be more memorable and successful than some of the other Eurovision winners.

Best performance, well-deserved win

Caught just a few seconds of their performance on a news snippet as I have with others over the last few decades.. it totally blew me away!. Its the first time I felt compelled to look up eurovision on RU-vid just to see their performance.. never really watched ec before. Now I look up every single youtube and song of theirs and am obsessed. They are really, really good and talented and are going to be globally huge.

the song is about loving who you love, wearing what you want to wear, be whatever and whoever you want to be. and Also to be yourself and not let hate get to you. they are amazing and all their songs are great.

Not all Israelis feel like Toy - I voted cca 10 times for Maneskin. They were just sexy, good music, and despite all the costumography - there was something so natural about them. You know just kinky costumes and bold makeup, but beneath they are natural young beautiful people who play music together and appears they are totally committed to it.. Like in good old times when music charts were occupied by actual musicians, not robots who do what producers want.

I wasn't a big fan of the song firstly and I supported France, Switzerland or Ukraine much more to win, but I can appreciate the fact that it's a completely different genre that usually doesn't win the contest + the fact that it's in Italian (and the top 5 are - apart from Iceland - all in native languages) so in the end, I'm actually quite happy with the results, I wouldn't mind any of the top 5 countries to win ❤️

I don’t know why this video was in my feed but I have cared about only one eurovision song in my life that actually made me vote and it was this one. It’s a quality song that sounds nothing like the typical songs we hear there. I am glad I discovered this band in such an unexpected way. I’d never think I’d find good music in eurovision. I couldn’t be happier that they won.

If it had been for the politicized juries we would have had yet another second place as for Mahmood in 2019 and by now we will all be listening Voilà, voilà, voilà... dying of boredom! I didn't know their story but now I do. It is a typical ESC winner after all. The underdogs who played music on Italys' streets before winning Eurovision. No wonder there for me. But they also won me over so I am happy for Italy... See you in Roma, Milano etc...... 😘😎

I hate to say this but it could be an age thing. It didn't appeal to me or my friends (all of a certain age) but online it seemed that the younger end in their teens & twenties really liked it. Oh the joys of getting older lol.

I'm following you guys since last year and I must say I was so disappointed that you did not like at all, but I would love to see your reaction to "Vent'anni" and "Torna a casa", "Le parole lontante". You should go deeper in their albums, you will find them extraordinary!

You don't really like music unless is a bit camp, that's what you are missing. I actually like the fact a non camp performance won Eurovision. Maneskin are leaps above anyone else in Eurovision, they are real musicians, and people who actually buy music understood that, that's why they won. Funny though that the most LGBTQ friendly group is the least camp of the show. You should be happy they won as the song is all about being proud of what you are, gay, bisexual or trans.
