Thanks for this great video compilation. May I add a few more earlier entries by some ESC winners: 1969 Anni-Frid Lyngstad "Härlig är var jord" 4th place in the Swedish national selection Melodifestivalen (1974 winner as part of ABBA "Waterloo" (Sweden)) The two BOBBYSOCKS singers did not only represent Norway in 1971 (Hanne Krogh) and Sweden in 1982 (Elisabeth Andreasson as part of CHIPS) before winning the ESC 1985 for Norway (as shown in the video) but each of them participated two more times in national preselections: Hanne Krogh 1972 in the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix with "Smating": Although this song won the competition, Grethe Kausland and Benny Borg were chosen instead of Krogh to perform the song in Edinburgh. Hanne Krogh 1979 in the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix with "Nar vi er barn", finishing 8th out of 8 Elisabeth Andreasson 1981 in the Swedish Melodifestivalen as a member of Sweets ´n Chips with "God morgon", finishing 2nd Elisabeth Andreasson 1984 in the Swedish Melodifestivalen with "Kärleksmagi" (eliminated in the first round) Johnny Logan came 3rd with "Angie" in the Irish National Final 1979, one year before winning the ESC for the first time. Charlie McGettigan also came 3rd in the Irish National Final - in 1987 with "Are you shy?", seven years before winning the ESC together with Paul Harrington ("Rock´n roll kids")

1) Crimean occupation, 2) new band (and thus, a shift from old school jazz to electronic pop). Both happened at the beginning of 2014. Of course, things may not be that simple. In her earlier work, there are serious songs, too. For her, the Crimean occupation obviously was a shock that perhaps affected her mood in general, which is reflected in her work since that. As to music style, she had been introduced to electronic pop earlier, perhaps she wanted to experiment with that style, and took this into account when hiring new band members. Anyhow, she seems able to express any emotion a human being may have.

Måns Zelmerlöw has tried 3 times and the third time he won. In the Netherlands we have a saying: driemaal is scheepsrecht. Which means something like: the third time it will certainly work/happen. Well, in his case for sure!
