One reason i bought a Tesla was to bypass dealership mark ups.

Picked up my new MYLR at Mohegan on April 9th! It was a great experience. I ordered and will service (when needed) in Milford. Nice to see Stamford getting a service center/showroom!

Dave. Here in Ft Lauderdale and Miami. Remote SERVICE CENTERS. JUST DONT WORK AS BUSY AS IT IS HERE IN MIAMI. PEOPLE LIKE THE SHOWROOM VIBE where they can service thier vehicles and look at cars

Definitely going to be a cybertruck service center. Many cant service Cybertruck and I was told they will have locations that will have major space for the lifts.

Dave, Great article but makes me wonder how this expansion fits in with all the lay offs both car side and suppercharger side and how this affects this space and the wider charging community? That includes the new and soon to be new car companies that are joining.

South Carolina has the good old boys dealer network and they have the political clout to keep Tesla out. It is totally anti-consumer and I have to drive to Georgia to get my Tesla serviced. Ridiculous.

Yes, this was a very informative video Dave. You covered some of the hidden reasons why we can’t find sales or service centers for some of the smaller EV companies. I guess it will take a few more years for them to get through to the large manufacturers.

Great news regarding the new service center in Stamford. I hope I don't ever need it when I visit family across the street from Ridgeway, but if I ever do.... I've taken advantage of Tesla's arrangement with the Oneida Nation to arrange for delivery of the M3P I just ordered (one day late to be able to get the Ultra Red paint and still get the tax credit -- damn!). Much better than having to go to Mt.Kisco again (I live a few miles away from your alma mater). Great video, as usual. Keep 'em coming!

When they get done with your Stamford, Ct location, please send them here to build or, um, remodel a service center in central Alabama. Though I have to say that Willie (our local Tesla Technician) has provided some pretty good service right to my door, I would like there to be a local service center and maybe a body shop in the state. What I want to know is why Alabama gets the sales tax and registration fee for a Tesla that I had to drive over to Georgia to receive? (Alabama is a state that has so far blocked Tesla from having a showroom or a service center in the state. I would much rather have paid fees associated with the purchase of the car to the state in which I actually made the final transactions).

This is one MAJOR reason why I will never buy from a dealer again. They suck!

I wonder if superchargers will be installed by the market. Seems like a great area for it.

I believe VW was the first to have no haggle pricing. My first new car was a 1968 VW Bug. I remember asking the salesman if he would come off the $1835 sticker price. He laughed and said if I did that VW would take our dealership away, true story.

No sales and no service in KS. I think we’re lucky to have a Tesla collision center. Right at the border with Missouri though 😒

Dealerships are very powerful politically with lots of money and politicians in their back pocket. If the truth be know, I think they're responsible for most of the lies and misinformation about EVs.

I agree that Tesla ought to be able to sell and service everywhere. I wish we had a center in Rockford, IL. It's over sixty miles in Chicago traffic to Schaumburg. What do you thin of Tesla firing so many people, and especially the entire supercharger team? Seems to me that branch of the company has been working really well. I hope Tesla doesn't loose its reputation for having plentiful, reliable charging.

Any dealer with a Fisker would have to pay me to take it off their hands.

It's called the auto dealership monopoly. No one wants to talk about it. They all want to talk against government mandates like ICE bans in certain cities that have yet to happen, and yet they say nothing about the state government mandate that ALL legacy auto manufacturers are forced to sell only to "flippers" that we call dealers. Imagine if you could not buy a home from the builder but were forced by law to buy it from a flipper. Yes, flippers exist there as well, but it's against the law. And yet, on the second largest purchase of your life, state laws FORCES you to buy it from a middleman flipper that can charge whatever he wants. Go ahead and read it for yourself right next to that little asterisk -- "Dealer sets the final price." The autodealership association completely controls ALL politicians on both sides of the isle. It's time EV RU-vidrs start bringing that up. Because the main media is completely terrified of bringing it up. WE can vote out these bought politicians. We need to all share this because the average American in completely oblivious of it. The vast majority of dealers are owned by multi-millionaire and multi-billionaire auto groups. It's the American consumer that is forced to pay for all their multi-million dollars homes and yachts.

Regarding the pole stars, skinny tires and heavy electric vehicles are a terrible mix.

I tried to purchase a new Tesla M 3 Performance yesterday. But in order to get the $7500 tax credit the price couldn’t go over $55k. The only one that qualified was the ugliest color on the planet, that Stealth Grey with all black interior, Ugg. I sure wish Tesla would discount this car by $3500 and I would purchase one with the red exterior and white interior.

I can't see you shoehorning into a Polestar Dave. I wouldn't touch a Fisker with a 10 foot pole. In my book it's throwing good money after bad. It's a dead duck.
