Standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona, totally did that on our EV road-trip then charged at the EA and planned on eating at Captain Tony’s Pizza and Pasta Emporium but it was closed Monday’s which was the day we were going thru. That was our first leg and we went from San Jose to Gallup NM in 1 day, 920miles 😂. The Taycan did very well.

I can only speak on Tesla...there is so much Tesla infrastructure that roadtripping is so easy...I think CCS has quite a bit of infrastructure but I do not know how reliable it is...there is also a lot of level 2 throughout the Northeast...Tesla and J-1772.

I always enjoy your videos, especially these roadtrips. You've really tempted me to order a Mach-E, especially a California Route 1 model, but… I am not yet convinced that the maximum DCFC kWh and charging curve are fast enough. Drat. Makes me wish I could shoehorn an Ioniq 5 drivetrain into a Mach-E!

Thank you! Ya that's an understandable dilemma! I mean I don't think you can go wrong with either an Ioniq 5 or a Mach-E so if road trips and fast charging are something you will do often then it makes sense to consider it! - Liv

In British Columbia, we get about 95% of our power from renewable sources with hydro being the largest source and works out to roughly 14 cents per kwh at home.

Paying 9 cents per kWh in SE Pennsylvania with 50 percent nuclear. California is nuts for closing their nuclear plants .

Thank you. Great video!. We drive this route at least twice a year to Santa Fe but have not yet in our Lightning. Coming from So CA, Winslow is our first days stop, and we will stay at La Posada in Winslow. Coming from Albuquerque it would have been too early for an overnight, but it is a terrific old ralroad hotel and restaurant. It has two Tesla destination chargers. Our return trip overrnight stay is Kingman's La Quinta which is just across the road from Smith's(with EA chargers).

That was great to hear your positive review of a McDonald’s in Albuquerque. It’s nice to point out the successes. I remember when we charged up that charger during a road trip from California and I did a phone order from a Chinese restaurant about a quarter mile away, And walked there to get the food.

Great Video. Cottrell (no relation) is a major manufacturer of car carriers and I noticed one in a shot. The east coast would generally have more stopping places and you should do a road trip, at least a Route 66 (what is left) one to Chicago. I think the Trans-Canada through Ontario is as bad as the west. It takes a couple of days to get though the 1,300 miles from Quebec to Manitoba, most of it though woodland. I am also a fan of The IT Crowd.
