I MUST have that Little Twin Stars pillow!!! I love all the Sanrio characters, but Hello Kitty will always be my fave. This flight is my idea of travel perfection!
Great review! Very, very nice food presentation and stunning pictures during decent! Plus you get my sympathy for ordering all that chili - love it too. :-)
great review as always, do like their comprehensive food and the 1-2-1 seating is great. I could do without the cartoon theme though, not sure what the obsession with that is....
What a great trip report. Lots of detail and fun too. Great editing. I enjoyed it very much. The taxi, take off and beautiful landing sections were very enjoyable. I can’t believe a person can eat so much chilli! Do you put it in everything?? I’m impressed with the food and service on EVA. Can’t wait to try them. They’re on my list! Thanks for the vid.
I recall reading about EVA changing Krug to VC due to Krug being a short supply now. seems like almost every premium airline was serving the Krug. Makes sense to me...
If anything, I don't know why an airline from Taiwan chooses to promote a Japanese branding? Why not promote a branding from Taiwan, there's certainly plenty to choose from. Always an over fascination with everything JAPANESE in Taiwan it's disgusting !
Excellent Point...Fully Agree With You. Sadly, due to lack of coherent national identity plus the island's history of constantly being colonized by foreign powers, Taiwan has an extremely unhealthy obsession not just with everything JAPANESE but also with everything FOREIGN [K-POP & HOLLYWOOD ETC.]. I personally would love to see Taiwanese Airlines promoting its own brand(s) in the near future, starting with China, Eva, and even Starlux eventually using its country name: Air Taiwan or Formosa Air, in the near future!
@@jau-yonchen6492 The last part you mentioned is next to impossible. Don't think the current gov't hasn't tried. It's a touchy political topic in Taiwan, but mostly it's regarding routing rights assigned to the name of the carrier. Redoing it under the new name will cost BILLIONS plus some countries might not want to sign a new agreement with the new carrier name due to Int'l politics, esp with Mainland China in the background.
@@shihlin1 Well, for practical purposes, got to make the impossible possible because China Airlines often gets confused with Air China ALL THE TIME...Despite costing billions, this is something that needs to be done in the coming years in spite of the insurmountable obstacles. Just have to wait and see what happens because a lot of names, especially on government agencies, like China or ChungHwa Post, need to be renamed to Taiwan or Formosa Post.
@@jau-yonchen6492Also, when "China Airlines" was created in 1959 by the Kuomintang party, Taiwan was recognized as THE true representative of Mainland China by most gov'ts, incl the U.S. But over the ensuing decades, more and more countries switched to China as the sole representative, incl the U.S. in late 1978 by Jimmy Carter. Most travelers don't know the history behind all this and Taiwan's plight behind the patented name. Changing names would create a major crisis, mostly for the Taiwan gov't. I happen to know all this only bc I've lived in Taiwan for over a decade, so I'm well aware of the political implications, domestic and international wise. It's a hot potato too hot to touch.
@@shihlin1 Although it's a hot potato issue, it needs to be addressed eventually because avoiding some thorny issues will only make it worse in the long run. Changing the name of China Airlines is NECESSARY to reflect the current plus future global environments because the Republic of China government no longer and will definitely not represent the mainland any time soon. Since ROC only represents Taiwan, it makes sense to not use "China" on TW's national carrier. BTW: most travelers don't care to know the complex history behind China Airlines. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THAT THEY BOOK THE CORRECT AIRLINE AND DON'T END-UP IN THE WRONG DESTINATION!
