Scope and content: These are the private motion pictures of Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun, which were seized by the US Army, in Germany, in 1945. They were subsequently assembled into 8 reels by the US Army, from 28 reels of original camera rolls. The National Archives received this film in 1947, and in 2012 began the digital restoration process, using existing negative copies. The original 28 reels of footage was not originally compiled by the US Army in chronological or thematic order, and these reels reflect that original assembly from 1945. All 9 reels of the film may be viewed in the National Archives Catalog (catalog.archives.gov/id/43461).
