Live recording of Khachaturian violin concerto in d minor with Zagreb Philharmonic orchestra. The concert was held on 13th of January 2016 in concert hall Vatroslav Lisinski. Soloist: Eva Šulić Conductor: Tomislav Fačini
I've not seen their piece on this yet, but I have only just started watching them! This piece has always been my favourite and just felt like seeing a 'live' performance of it since I've only ever listened to it without seeing it played
Kachaturian music is along with Rachmaninov the best of XX century. Each one in a very different style but both sublime. Outstanding performance by Eva and the Zagreb orchestra. Thank you!!
@@alvarogarciabarbosa3199 'Best' is merely a matter of personal opinion, but 'significant' could I think be given a more general definition; if say, considering the number of recordings and performances of composers then I think Prokofiev, Stravinsky and Shostakovich (and Rachmaninov!) would probably easily beat Khachaturian.
Love the composer..best performance for this beautiful, mesmerizing piece...thx Eva...thx all involved for a true pleasure to listen and watch....what a amazing second movement
My favourite classical pieces. I heard on classic FM radio when I was about 10 years old, and I spent weeks finding the mp3 to download! This was in the early days of kazaa/limewire. 10 year old me didn't understand copyright but he did understand an amazing piece of music.
when I was even younger there was in the house a number of old 78's of Beethoven, Brahms and others. The first 3 LP's to enter the house were all Khachaturian: the Gayne Suite, Piano Concerto and the Violin Concerto. Can't imagine how many times I played them. Gave the Gayne album to my first girlfriend in college.
"Ach du lieber, mein schatz" Eva! "Zdravo & Kako Si! You have just beautifully tackled one of the all time great violin concertos!! Armenian passion beyond belief!!! "Gesundheit" mein schatz!
Young performer, old soul! Your tone is beautiful and your passion is palpable Eva! Bravi tutti! Excellent performance all around. Great recording job.
This is my favourite concerto by far, more than the Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, Prokofievs, Brahms, Beethoven, Mendelssohn... anything. She does a pretty great job of it, at times reminding me of the Oistrakh recording I have been thrashing for the last 35 years.
This difficult performance Eva plays with splendid skill and exquisite technique and specutacular attire is beyond description , unfathomable , inspirational , graceful and comfortable to the ear and the mind . From Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun 🇯🇵

I was just craving to see personality in this performance!! Everything is wonderfully played, but it just needs more, especially the last movement. Look at Nemanja Radulovic's performance to see what I mean. Their interpretation of the finale is strong, and I know Sulic can do the same!!
