This video is about Evaluating Inverse Trigonometric Functions (arcsin, arccos, arctan) Using Unit Circle. We discuss how to find the angle given the trigonometric value using the unit circle. We also discuss the restricted domain for sine inverse, cosine inverse, and tangent inverse and why they are restricted to these quadrants. We also go through 15 examples to give you plenty of practice!

this video saved me. My online trig professor likes to put notes online and audio to explain the notes and it just was too confusing. I needed to actually see it being done. Your explanation was so easy to understand and it helped that you went through problems one by one. By the second problem I was answering before you were done explaining. THANK YOU SO MUCH

Hello, I have a question here regarding your Unit Circle and I am sorry just incase this was already addressed in the video I might not have been exactly paying attention but,,, My question is: why are your values in the fourth quadrant of the unit circle different than the normal ones I have seen? Like for pi/6,, the one I know is 11pi/6

@MariosMathTutoring
@MariosMathTutoring 4 года назад
Greetings Amira! It’s because the arcsin and the arctan have a restricted domain from -pi/2 to pi/2 meaning the answer needs to be in that interval....otherwise if we didn’t restrict the domain there would be an infinite number of answers. Hope that helps!

Why is it, in Quadrant IV, that the variables of pi are not (11pi/6), (7pi/4), (5pi/3), and (3pi/2)? On all of the Unit Circles that we have constructed for my class, those values are the variables listed in Quadrant IV...perhaps a detail my teacher missed - are they supposed to be negative and without numerator variables (excluding pi) instead?
@MariosMathTutoring
