This channel is about things not documented in the manual. As part of a series on rebuilding the engine, this video has us going through completely rebuilding a clutch slave cylinder, and discussing the different options for replacement. It also covers quickly the various options for a replacement clutch master cylinder, in that the one I took off is one of the cheap ones, and I have had failures with them.

thank you I watched this as I have a 1973 tr6 and am doing all the work on it myself as I had my tr exported to canada in 1980 and cant find anyone to work on the fuel injection as all exported trs had carburetas , mines a right hand drive rust free and undesealed from new and hasnt been driven for 42 yrs has 30,000 miles on it so in retireement im doin everything myself as I tried to use other mechanics and that was just like dropping thousands of dollars into a firepit, so your videos will be watched with geaat intent , do you have one about a master cylinder rebuild as thats where Im at thank you

Hi, sorry for taking so long on replying. Keep me posted on your progress!!!! You might try Chef Tush or Elin Yakov up there in Canada, see if they can point you to a mechanic that can work on the EFI. Search on their names and "Triumph" and you should find them on RU-vid. I haven't done one on rebuilding a TR6 master cylinder, sorry. Mine was beyond rebuilding. I have done one on the brake booster adjustment. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J1ozyqzZqUI.html Before I switched to video, I did do a blog entry on rebuilding a TR3 master cylinder if that helps. You might want to consider getting your TR6 MC done by a rebuilder and getting it sleeved, IF you have an OEM master cylinder. Try a rebuilder like Apple Hydraulics. BTW - I have no financial interest in them...,

I just checked out your channel. My next project is part of what you are doing now - I am going to paint the engine bay, as mine is previous owner rustoleum black. Let me know how your cylinder rebuild goes!

@@triumphrestoration7403 Turns out my Slave cylinder was in great shape no ridges, no rust or ware marks. I did clean out the interior with cleaner and reassembled the unit. Thanks again for what you do.

Great video for those wanting to do a rebuild. Have you ever had one re-sleeved before?

I had 2 failed brake master cylinders in a row. First was Classic Gold after a year, then a TRW after a couple years. I paid Apple Hydraulics to sleeve an OEM core they had. So far so good, but less than a year on it. Never had a slave sleeved before.

Any recommendations for removing the piston without compressed air? (Don’t have a compressor)

You needed an excuse to buy one!!! I have heard of people using a grease gun. Never tried it myself. mgaguru.com/mgtech/hydraulics/ht105.htm
