I totally agree, he kept a framework for the otherwise insanity of Volta, none of the drummers ever worked because they were all trying to add too much, Jon kept it creative but tight.

Agree completely. He reigned it in which is a good thing for these musicians. They basically explode creativity and john popped some structure where it needed it.

As a drummer, I've found that I love to listen to Pridgen's drum lines because they're so frenetic and wild that I can't help but just love to hear the pure technical ability on show - however, Theodore's drumming is a far greater compliment to the songs he plays on; I like listening to Pridgen play on the tracks he's on, but I like to listen to the tracks themselves that Theodore's on.

Pridgen knows how to chill - listen to the studio versions of his run with TMV. The point is that, live, by the time he was with the band, they all were playing frantically, making even the chill parts of the songs not chill at all. He did what Omar asked him to, basically.

I think you just play 16ths and accent the downbeats. It probably only sounds syncopated because of that displaced/groovy kick drum underneath.

Probably not that long. I learned this song about in 1 week

Jon was the better fit despite not being as chop oriented as Pridgeon.
