The picture is a little dark and I cannot see it clearly, but it seems that Mr. Christopher is playing a german-type clarinet. Very unusual for a jazzer, and all the more astonishing that he gets this dark, sonorous tone out of it.

No, no es un clarinete con sistema alemán, es un sistema Albert (muy similar, por cierto) que solían utilizar muchos clarinetistas de New Orleans.

it's an Albert with a bit too many rings :) - Dodds used a six rings Albert and Edmund Hall too. as you know, I think that tone depends more on mouthpiecce than clarinet - nevertheless I myself prefer to play a selmer than a buffet...

@@pacosantos3803 it's strange because MfJimminoone is a well informed clarinet player and lover... he must have been mislead by the presence of three rings for the left hand.

@@pacosantos3803 I'd say yes... they usually have an hole for the fourth finger and a free hole for the second of the right hand, too
