Amy said once a record company told her that who would want to listen to a female rock singer who plays the piano. It wouldn't play on Rock radio and that's they'd pass on them. I'm assuming he got fired for his mistake. It's what gives Evanescence their sound. Well and that silly good voice of hers. And she's pretty too:)
Amy is beautiful and everything inside and out and whoever made that comment was obviously pissed for whatever reason probably for the fact that she is everything that person is not and probably never will be. She doesn’t need his opinion or anyones because she flourishes regardless
Ye, fired, if those people got fired instead of promoted, Amy wouldn't had to write that kind of song or sue the label, because they just sell away her and her full catalogue of works without asking her permission.
Ha, I grew up a rock music fan and admired the likes of Elton John, Billy Joel, and of course the great Freddie Mercury ( i have seen 6 times live). If you look back at their careers, you will find that the record company didn't know about what we love to listen too. BTW, this performance by Amy was great.
Her voice is memorizing and can emote so much sadness. This performance is the best I have listened to and it is also one that constantly sent chills down my spine. Amy Lee has the voice of an angel and when it's paired with her grest song writing, it creates a masterpiece, like this one.
@@jazz7436 actually, there's a video of the performance on RU-vid that's autotuned, however this one is not, you can hear the difference clearly especially in the bridge
Thats awesome its also one of my all time favorite songs of theirs....I want to get the lyrics..."as much as I'd like to feel like I belong here im just as scared as you"....on my left arm...im getting the ev symbol on my right arm...my first tat...:)
It's the smile and the rocking side-to-side that shows how much she loves that part of the song, and as a result, we love that part of the video. Breathtaking and spine-tingling.
I hate that this band is so underrated just because people look at Rock like it can't be as poetic as Amy's lyrics are or have a vocalist with such an angelic voice like Amy's or instrumentals that can make you feel soft, yet deep sadness the way their songs do. They deserve better recognition and I will never change my mind on that
...in what world is evanescence underrated lol. they had large mainstream success and sustained a long-term career, what else do you want? AND they are performing at the Nobel Prize event???? like????????????????????????????
@@yamammiwammi lol they had a Grammy too. i guess what this person is trying to say is that the band is just not AS relevant in the todays scene as it was, i would agree with that, too, but tbh, rock music haven't had a revival in popularity for years, so i'm not really that surprised, it is still a fairly niche genre. They might be underrated now, but they definitely were in the spotlight and people still know them well.
Rock as a genre and musical talent in general isn’t important to the mainstream industry anymore. There’s a handful of actually talented people who make it thru these days but for the most part, the industry wants half naked pop stars who twerk and mumble rappers with purple hair and face tattoos. Hopefully the pendulum will eventually swing back and real music will be appreciated again, but its been like 2 decades since then.
This is just over the rainbow magic... that vibrato travels through me so violently, and her fucking voice... i have to say FUCKING voice it´s the most beautiful thing in this world. Can´t believe this
I'll cry... So touching, so expressive, so awesome!! The emotions I get listening to this performance can't be desribed in words. The song, Amy's voice and the lovely violin arrangement that lifted the song up to another level left me speechless. 10/10
After all these years of listening to this song. After all these years of hearing her voice I still can’t get enough. Amy and the band has helped me through so much of my life.
Amy Lee is a fantastic singer. She has the ability to sing high and low. She is the most amazing singer that I have ever heard. Keep Rockin Amy. You are the best. ❤
I've been believing in something so distant As if I was human And I've been denying this feeling of hopelessness In me, in me All the promises I made Just to let you down You believed in me, but I'm broken I have nothing left And all I feel is this cruel wanting We've been falling for all this time And now I'm lost in paradise As much as I'd like the past not to exist It still does And as much as I'd like to feel like I belong here I'm just as scared as you I have nothing left And all I feel is this cruel wanting We've been falling for all this time And now I'm lost in paradise Run away, run away One day we won't feel this pain anymore Take it all the way, shadows of you 'Cause they won't let me go 'Till I have nothing left And all I feel is this cruel wanting We've been falling for all this time And now I'm lost in paradise Alone and lost in paradise
It happened! And I went to their live performance for their synthesis album OMG. I can't even express how lucky I was for being able to watch them perform live with an orchestra!
I think this is a great song because its a powerful tool to come to reason yourself when you live in solitude can make you be at a high level goals or something you need to come quickly
Amy you have an amazing voice you're an awesome writer you have magical hands you know how beautiful Planet Earth is music has no borders everyone adores you this an extraordinary performance
Because you tied that wonder rump to her piano she's very good. But over the years she's gotten a million times better singing live than in 2003. Her voice has aged quite well.
