I don't think there ever has been or ever will be a more beautiful song than this. It brings me to tears every time I hear it just like it did years ago.
THIS IS ONE OF THE THOSE SONGS THAT I FIND IMPOSSIBLE TO LISTEN TO ALL THE WAY THROUGH WITHOUT COMPLETELY FALLING APART EMOTIONALLY. IT SIMPLY OVERWHELMS ME. SOMETIMES, EVEN AFTER JUST A FEW NOTES, I HAVE TO TURN IT OFF. AND BY THE WAY, JAMEL, YOU ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST "REACTION VIDEO JOCKEY" ON LINE. INTELLIGENT, UNIQUE, FUNNY AS HELL, AND WITH A HEART AS BIG AS THEY COME. THANK YOU FOR HAVING THE GUTS TO BE YOU!!!
Ami Lee....greatest female vocalist in the history of rock and roll. And the word you’re looking for....her voice is ANGELIC! (Edit....I posted this before you said angelic haha I guess I jumped the gun)
Such a powerful & emotional song. Every time I hear the lyrics "Though you're still with me , I've been alone all along", it is seriously hard to fight back tears.
*Her name is "pain," and her voice makes your heart want to burst!* Yet there is an uncommon melancholy beauty that haunts your very soul. Powerful stuff!
you got it right. Angelic is the perfect word to describe this wonderful woman. I always find this song very emotional no matter how many times I listen to it.
I've heard this song many times but it can still bring a tear to my eye, the lyrics and the passion in that beautiful voice hits me right where I live.
I could have just been blasting Slipknot or Motorhead or something heavy, just being all amped up, then this song rolls up on my mp3 rotation and it'll always put me on a knee.
Yeah, Amy Lee’s songs and singing always seem to convey a very real pain and a melancholy coming from really deep inside. Same thing here, doesn’t matter if I was blasting some tech death or prog, this always gets me.
im the biggest fan of evanescence and i listen each and every song of her but this song is truly fablous amazing its been almost 20 years still its on my top of the playlest
A lot of her songs come from life experience or relationships. I can't believe that voice comes out of that five foot three little lady. Just Beautiful. Definitely my favorite female vocalist.
The word I use for Amy’s UNBELIEVABLE voice is ethereal. She has pipes!! She actually wrote this song at 15 years of age. Not only does she have 1 of the best voices in the entire world, but she is absolutely stunningly gorgeous!! Multi talented!!!
Mrs Amy Lee . born in Cali on dec 13 1981 in burbank . moved to Arkansa and started Evanessance with ben moody who starred in the vidieo with her .the band and relatiibship broke up in 2011 , but she is back now with the same name and a german guitarest . absolutley amazing . now is Amy lee Holtzler . and IS the best voice in music . as far as im concerned . great video bro . love the reaction
I think you mean "Our Truth" by Lacuna Coil. Really good song. I can't remember when or where I first heard it, but it instantly caught my ear and I had to know what the name of the song was and who was singing it. I had never heard of them before that.
Glad to see that I am not the only one trying to push Lacuna Coil when I see anything Evanescence related. Also recommend Heavan's a Lie and their cover of Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence.
God I was sooo in love with Amy Lee. Soo talented, those eyes.. You did it again brother!!! Great band...great song. There is a great live version of this song on YT.....she plats the piano/ true musician.
My mom got me started on Evanescence but hearing this song always makes me cry as I often feel this way when I think about my mom since she passed away 7 years ago
She is a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice singing a beautiful song! Please please please react to the song Broken by her and Seether! Another massively epic song! You wont regret it!
This was getting a lot of radio play when I was driving back and forth across the country during my dad's last illness in 03. While it's not got good associations, I still like the song.
I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone, But though you're still with me, I've been alone along You still have all of me. .... Too many broken hearts understand. Beautiful, perfect, song.
I would describe Amy as ethereal, with a haunting voice and beauty. I don’t take her as an angel but a woman still bound to her past. She’s wearing bandage like wrappings or ties, around her hands and feet. Although the ties have been cut, she’s still wrapped in them like she physically cannot let go. That song is haunting. I love her voice.
If you listen closely, there is Morse code in the background. It spells out "CQ" (seek you) which is the way ham radio operators reach out to each other.
From an interview Moody explains, "It's actually a preset pattern on a keyboard synthesizer that we were using on that song. And if you sustain the note long enough, it trails off into this beeping that sounds a lot like Morse code and we thought that it sounded really cool, so we left it. So it's there by accident, to be perfectly honest with you."
A 2 months before this album dropped I lost my first real love in a car accident. I played this song over and over for a year and a half while I was in a dark place. Still 20 years later when I listen to it, I get so sad and remember my first love. We were so young and thought we had our whole lives planned out. But that’s the funny thing about life, nothing ever happens the way we want it to.
This song was actually written mostly by the band member who was playing the piano and walking around. He wrote it for his grandfather who passed away and Amy helped him write the song and performed the song.
She's and angst-ridden tortured soul in the name of love........ Could be an angel...... must ponder that..... Anything by Evanescense is fantastic."Going Under"; "Bring Me to My Knees".
Jamal my buddy Vince turn me on to you and I've never had so much fun listening to old songs and through you reliving the first time I heard these songs and how much I came to love them ...I am so impressed how you pick up on all the little nuances every instrument everycord the Dynamics that do not exist anymore in music today the craftsmanship the raw talentand to hear these points coming from someone much younger than myself who appreciates this timeless music and it deserves being APPRECIATE IT AGAIN AND HOLDS UP BECAUSE OF ITS STRENGTH I THANK YOU SO MUCH JAMAL SINCERELY ERIC SAHAGUN
Notice the wrists and ankles bound as if she is a self-inflicted passing. Also, she is always above the ground. He is walking around in despair from losing her.
Goosebumps, goosebumps and more goosebumps! Such a beautiful song, can't believe I haven't heard it before. Thanks for reviewing it, now I'm off to download it.
Evanescence was my middle school years 7th and 8th gr getting me through suicidal adolescence...even my dad loved this one said I could sing like her...he'd secretly listen to me sing in my room.
Those eyes. That voice. Incomparable. Did you notice the bandages on her hands? They were on her feet too, but they were wrapped like ballerina slippers for some reason...
Saw Evanescence live during their orchestrated album Synthesis. Amy's voice has become stronger and more mature. I was surprised that some of the seats in the arena were still empty, but I think that was due to the hiatus. If this was mid 2000s again...packed. Amy's voice and the composition of the music just puts me into a trance. The darkness in it is what does that...a soul reaction.
Ben Moody (the guy in video) wrote the lyrics while still in high school. he signifies her lost love. Ben insisted it does not mean any particular person lost but how it feels to lose someone and memories that haunt us when they are gone. He is barefoot as many dead are not buried with shoes on. I always thought in the video that both were haunting each other and both had passed on. I think its open to many interpretations. Whatever it is, Amy's voice is ethereal.
