There are moments that are pretty neat, and the whole project is well edited and mixed. But there are some pretty big moments where the sound is not “big” enough for what’s happening on screen, especially compared to some moments that would likely be silent in reality. Moments like Sachiel breaking 01’s arm and impaling it’s head through a building are oddly quiet, while shots of computer monitors have layers of loud mechanical sounds

The roar of unit 01 was nowhere near impactful or scary enough. Just little squeak 😂

The guy was spot on. The eva sounded exactly how it should've. The damn think is a cyborg partly comprised of a giant humanoid alien. It sounded as other worldly and robotic as it should've. And the screeching of heavy slow machinery works, too. It sounds like what you think it would sound like if hydraulics and massive motor systems were absolutely burning fuel to pull skyscraper high alloy doors and other massive machinery. Overall, it's sound design fitting for a series by the name of evangelion Neon Genesis.
