I watched Ayo Adesanya on Gbajumo where she said that Ijebu did not have Oriki. That will be in her mother place. Thank God you're Ijebu from Ikorodu. I knew her father's family house in Ijebu Ode. The area has a general oriki and each houses have their own oriki as well. My mother was from Ijebu Ode and my father too. I can render my father's and mother's oriki. Ijebu ode has general oriki, that everyone can render. Like Omo Obanta agborun jagun Omo ewe dudu ororo agemo ofi yowoyowo, omo alegemo merindinlogun, Omo anihun toyinbo oni nile. This is general oriki for Ijebu Ode. What happened is that the modern woman are not read to learn oriki. Am from Ijebu married to a lagosian husband which mother came from Ilaro, I learned my husband's father and mother's oriki. Am so happy with you my dear sister. God will continue to empower you and be your strength IJMN.
