They are a young couple. The guy is reckless but he has good intentions at the end of the day. The dude is 25 and a year younger then his lady. I think he is acting his age only problem is he has kids and is in a relationship. So he needs to mature a bit more and should get some help with the gambling before it becomes a true addiction. As for the money part when his girlfriend went to a family member I could understand why he would be upset. I'm pretty sure that she would be upset if she found out that he borrowed $1000 from a family member and found out after the fact.

Years ago a friend of mine’s sister was killed because her boyfriend played dice and won one night stripping the other guy of all his money. The guy followed him home and when they were sleep broke in and killed the boyfriend and his girl. Their child was saved because the woman fell on him trying to shield him. He was 2. Habits that involve money are never ever harmless. They are dangerous.

One of the biggest things that women desire is security, especially once we are mothers. We are wired that way. It is apart of guaranteeing ours and our children’s survival. Feeling financially insecure causes women panic and stress, fight or flight. Being in a constant state of survival mode will wear a woman down mentally and physically. That’s the opposite of what a “provider” offers. Security gives a woman peace to give of herself. Coming through in the clutch on a regular basis will have her nervous system frazzled. She’ll be focused on holding on to what she has as opposed to pouring into those in need.

The judge’s advice fell on Deaf ears. He lacks accountability and awareness of his problem. In his mind, the ends justify the means, so the fact he “wins” trumps all the bad behavior. She is his enabler because like he said, she’s right there to enjoy the spoils when he wins. Unfortunately, she better get used to instability because it’s only going to get worse. Gambling, like any addiction will destabilize the relationship to the point of termination. She believes a separation will wake him up, but it will only leave him more free time to feed the beast.
