Last Man Standing's Eve Baxter (Kaitlyn Dever) sings a soulful, from the heart, love song. I do not own the rights to this music; all rights belong to Kaitlyn Dever or the TV series Last Man Standing.
On the other hand, I really resent the line. I guess it's just too real to me how many children over the years my wife and I have known who were rejected by their parents.
I remember my eyes welled up during this scene. Not only for Kaitlyn singing so beautifully, but the looks on Tim and Nancy’s faces. At that moment, Kaitlyn really was their daughter. They had such a look of pride on their faces. I’m so happy that her and her sister recorded an album. They’re both great singers who’s voices compliment each other so well.
Tracy Polselli Tim Allen said in an interview he has 3 daughters in real life and brings that to the set. He thinks of his tv kids just like his own. It was the same on Home Improvement. He thought of the 3 boys like his own sons.
At that moment they were more likely real proud friends than proud acting parents! Excellent song, singing & playing! I wish it hadn't been cut off. I would've liked hearing the end & the applause!
@@melissaculpepper7663 Yes, I thought the same...But at the same time, she isn't a clone to Emmylou. I honestly and sincerely haven't heard a female singer this good in a VERY long time. If she even had the desire to pursue being a career musician, I doubt very much that she could get anywhere because of the times and culture that we live in today....There is just not a market for what she is doing.... The truth in that is kind of depressing.
@@melissaculpepper7663 Honestly, at the risk of being a buzzkill, in regard to your hope. I do not have any hope that musical instruments and vocals like what happened during the 50s 60s 70s and 80s will ever be "a thing" again... It will always be around and still alive as proof in this video. But the last generation or two, as a whole, have zero interest.. This is proven to be true simply by what is marketed. The people peddling music, pedal what sells to the masses. I once recognized that Rock n Roll music was dead but now it's clear that music is dead. If music makes a comeback, it will not be in our lifetime. But hey, on the bright side, I can still listen to and enjoy actual music. All the old and the occasional underground, non-mainstream like little Kaitlyn Dever in the video. WOW is an understatement !
When Tim Allen lifts his head as to say....."go ahead, Eve....you got this". That part and when the camera lands on Nancy and Tim when they start to get emotional listening to Eve.....when I see Tim's reaction, I tear up.🌹
I immediately got teary-eyed when she began to sing but more tears came when Tim looked at Nancy and then Tim looked at the people in the coffee shop to see their reaction. Just beautiful ❤️
man she can sing!!! Kaitlyn Dever is a very good actor and a great singer. she is the full package i wish i could've done the same when i was a teenager
She has a really great voice that comes straight from her heart, and with such a beautiful song, She's a big talent, way more than her role as Eve on "Last Man" allows
Tim Allen and Nancy Travis's reaction makes me wonder if the filming was the first time they'd heard the song. I know they are actors, but Nancy was fighting back tears. I seriously wonder if Kaitlyn kept this a secret till filming
I'm pretty sure I read that they had heard bits and pieces during rehearsals but they filmed the scene in one take and it was the first time all the actors heard Kaitlyn do the whole thing, playing the guitar and *really* singing the song and it did hit them hard....the young lady has talent that's for sure.
@@joemckim1183 This was not acting ! It was a vocal/guitar performance that most people that are career musicians cannot compete with. Sadly, in this day, there is no market for what she is doing here.
When this happened it took me back to the Donna Reed show when Shelly debuted (sp) her singing (short lived) career. It's like when a flower blossoms. What a beautiful girl with unlimited talent.
I wanna latch right on to you I’m trying, but you don’t want me to` The sky was pink When I thought of you But the road’s a little foggy Without you Oh baby baby blue Ooh, why can’t it just be Me and you? Oh baby baby blue Ooh, why can’t it just be me And you?
My ex-girlfriend has a beautiful toddler age daughter (my ex-girlfriend got pregnant by her new boyfriend), and now the girl is living her life, growing up with her newly single mom, and an absent jerk of a father. My ex-girlfriend's daughter needs a good father figure, role model, and mentor. I want that sweet little girl to know who I am. That little girl is going to grow up without a father. I'm so sad for her, especially knowing that I could provide love and support for that little girl. She deserves to know me. I don't even know if my ex-girlfriend wants me in her kid's life. I don't if I could go on in my life knowing that there's a wonderful little girl out there who deserves an awesome dad. I would give up everything to be her stepdad. I wish my ex-girlfriend would communicate with me. That sweet little girl needs me, but I'm sad that I may never get to know her and be there for her. Even though she isn't my biological child, I would love her like my own. I want her to know that I exist. I already feel love for her. I love the only stepdaughter I may never have.
My goose bumps get goose bumps every time I watch this amazing video of true talent. She sings this song with such an angelic voice that you can't dismiss the calming feeling you get. I wish that it was a longer song for all to enjoy. The reaction from the "parents" seemed so real, not acting, makes you wonder if they were just as surprised at this young lady's true talent. Sing on, sing on.
I know its the actor’s original song, but I can’t help but think how very much out of character it is for Eve Baxter, or if the song is lending a hand to the emotional depth Eve has shown to be capable of throughout the show (usually by pulling it from her by the teeth). The song, from what I can get, is meant to address another person who is unwilling to meet the singer halfway. “I wanna latch right on to you/ I’m trying but you don’t want me to.” The feeling of heartache is expressed as she croons “the sky was pink when I thought of you/the road’s a little foggy without you.” There’s a sense of devotion, and of nostalgic love, as she sings the chorus, and all together places the song in the category of a country new-age love song that always remarks on a very emotional moment we share in our lives. Just...Eve hasn’t even gone to college at this point. She’s had a grand total of three high school boyfriends she dumped because they got too close or weren’t good enough. If anything, she’s afraid of love. How can she nail it so perfectly?
Found online : The song, "Baby Blue," which was sung by the character "Eve," was written and sung by the actress who plays "Eve," Kaitlyn Dever. (She actually sang the song and wrote it.) . Season 5 episode 16 of Last Man Standing, Episode title : "Eve's Band."
Oh my God! I was TOTALLY floored by how beautiful her voice is. I could listen to her all day long but I'd run out of tears. The perfect voice with just enough background guitar to carry the melody. Simply beautiful.
This young lady has loads of talent. I already knew she could act but now I know she has a gorgeous voice and pretty damn good with the guitar too. Of course I am a sucker for arpeggiated chords so there's that.
