Damn this brings back some memories - As Masakaa I flew in red frog and later on in black frog back in 2010/2011. Very happy to see the frogs are still going strong!
I've used Red Frog quite a few times and I've always messaged my pilot to say thanks when it's dropped off. They'll go 1 jump over for you if you pay (generally I always put min 2 jumps worth as a reward though cos Freighters be slooooow). Always professional and so damn quick. Amazing service. As for the video, that accent is awesome and keeps it interesting. Really great presentation and throughly enjoyed it especially the fun slides. O7
I used to be in Red Frog and loved it for the most part. (I left after they nerfed freighters with "upgrade slots" which ended up reducing cargo space, unless you doubled the cost of your ship.) I really enjoyed hauling freight for people and was fortunate enough to never get ganked, even when customers would be "daring" enough to put up to 10 bil ISK worth of cargo with a 1 bil collateral. Those types almost never gave tips, either. My internal gripe was that I was affected by a Red Frog who stole lots of freight. She (?) apparently apologized to the officers and claimed to pay everyone back, but I lost thousands of corpses she was hauling and she never paid me back. My favorite day was generally Sunday b/c there was one particular customer who would put up dozens of orders to be shipped from location A, B, & C, to Jita (IIRC). I had to get up early to get those contracts b/c another Frog would grab them, too, and while I could only accept 3-5 contracts at a time, she could accept 10. lol But she was so nice that she'd lend me about 4-5 bil ISK each Sunday (to cover collateral) and then after the work was done, I'd return the money to her, then I'd head to church. Good times before CCP nerfed freighters. I do wish I'd kept with it - never got burned out of hauling freight and I was one of the only people that wouldn't AFK fly. (I did it once, to test it, but AFKing just wasn't for me.)
Southern Syndicate Why would it be better in highsec to take a shuttle? Interceptors are not exactly expensive and if you have the skills for one a travel fit ceptor is great, warp speed rigs and nano's in lows will beat a shuttle in speed / safety any day, at least from what i understand.
CaptainCraftIt Interceptors have less than 5k EHP even when tanked, meaning if someone wanted to actually gank them, they would die regardless. Both Shuttles and Interceptors align pretty much instantly, depending on skills. With max skills on either, it is impossible to stop them. Even without skills, it's not enough to lock either up, cargo scan and then blap them. Sure, the scanner could be an alt, in which case with either, you're fucked, however, most times than not, people don't target shuttles when looking to make solid ISK through ganking. Interceptors are mainly for NulSec travel and BP hauling, as they are immune to non-targetted interdiction (dictor/hictor bubbles and anchorable bubbles).
In Red Frog's recruitment page it says: "Freighter Alt needs to have Hull Upgrades II trained (to level two only)". Can someone explain why only two levels?
It's been several years since I played and was a Red Frog pilot, but if it says something like "two only," then any excess is wasted as far as freighter piloting goes. So, Hull Upgrades III may expand cargo holds or something which isn't available on freighters.
Dunno why Blockade Runners aren't acceptable forms of transport for small amounts of cargo. If you have a Cov Ops and get caught, you suck at getting through gate camps.
No no. red frog is the premier private freight Corp in eve. unless you got permission to sell plex from eve, you don't really get real cash. but if you get a sellers license, "markee dragon" for example, your not allowed to turn isk into cash
Nah they weren't rude at all...and the room was big but not full. There was another ccp presentation at the same time. (to be honest I would have gone to that one too, but I had a presenation to do :) )
