'Eve of Destruction' 2023 at Lebanon Valley Speedway! (Full show) - 6/29/23 

Well they did bring the Bone Shaker truck to the Night of Fire but this.....the Eve of Destruction only ever had a jet car one time that I can recall and that was in 2015.

Hehe well filming storms and stuff is what I do and this is a really top of the line camera and only use it for video. It's a S1 and I have had it as my main thing for 3 years. It films well. :)

Yeah here in Lebanon valley we usually do the Eve of Destruction and Night of Fire (which I film too) and yeah at the Speedway they do the open wheel racing every Saturday. Actually my Aunt, her friend, and I plan to go to the Saturday Event on July 8th as everyone in attendance got free tickets as the Eve of Destruction got rained out 2 days prior so because of that...free tickets so I will likely film that too cause why not. The Dragway at Lebanon is usually really good too. I don't know if I will be able to walk the pits on the Saturday event at the Speedway but you can on the dragway events for general public.

@@MightyMuffins I see, yea never been there heard of lebanon valley though but always got weird vibe from the name as there used to be much fighting in the 80's in the middle east and to this day, but I would hear the word lebanon and it would creep me out or make me nervous scared feeling because of all the war and death in this far off place lebanon, we fear the unknown, though for the longest time I thought this was called Upper Lebanon Valley speedway, not just lebanon valley, as for me never saw a night of fire or destruction at a track, was supposed to see a jet car do a car burning one year but we could not make it that weekend, and more then once they had jet cars at the avilla raceway including doug rose's green mamba in I think the day after the 4th of july or on it in 1992 or maybe earlier that year and the car being roasted blew up as it had a little fuel in the gas tank they guess, but my cousin would talk about it several times, and how they had to back people up from the fence as he went around with the car behind the jet car and the shower of sparks it put off, the one time though at baer field here in indiana they had a car burning by someguy named airplane freddy but I cant find any record of a car like that on the web, but I missed that one too the reason though I could not go to the one after or on july 4th in 1992 was because we were leaving early for vacation to go to kings island in ohio in the morning, if memory serves me. mind you I been to monster truck shows several times and seen a demo derby or 2, but going to the tractor pulls back then and seeing the sprints on dirt series at the local paved tracks was our bread and butter, or fireworks night, took till 1995 before we got to see a dirt track at eldora with the allstar circut of champions and several guys from the outlaws ran with them, I belive it was after steve kinser tried to make a go of nascar and then came back to sprints and we saw him that night in the number 11 we went there a total of three times over a 2 year period I think and once saw him with the outlaws actually the one time cbs was there and filmed the race and it was on tv and that was the last time I was there till 2021 at the 4 crown nationals and it had changed much since seeing it on tv and in person last time I was there in 1996 or 1997. Good times though. I liked the dirt track though since for the longest time we never got to go to them, so now that is about all I go to if I can help it, because 1 the cars actually slide on dirt, they spray dirt on the wall as they slide and it looks cool for the little kid in me, its what God gave us to race on, the surface changes each lap and its more unpredictable, and takes more skill to drive it, and last they will on short dirt tracks change leads sometimes 3-4 times in one lap and sometimes is just who is lucky enough to hook up first off the turn on the last lap will win the drag race for the finish. sarry to write a book, just sharing a memory, of course we did have a dirt track not real far away in bryan but my cousin that took me went and saw the sprints there and said the place was ran down and it ended up closing the end of that season anyway, and was used for a time a go kart track and it was closed down due to noise and interupting the golf games nearby on sunday afternoons which heaven forbide we dont want to bug our bosses and rich people when they are trying to have entertainment now do we? there was also the one in quincy michagan wich is about an hour from here at butler raceway or montpilier and gas city but those were smaller track and not sure my cousin knew about those, that we could have went to for seeing 410 winged sprints or kokomo but then again its about the same amount of time or less to go to eldora, which some call the largest seating dirt track in the nation, like the indy motor speedway or dirt, though opinions will vary from person ot person but it was one time the fastest before valoosa took the fastest time record from it in florida, some say bristol is faster but its not a permanent dirt track so to me it dont count heh

@manga12 . It's really good because the track and everything is usually very well maintained and we've never had a problem going to the speedway or the dragway here and nearly 25 years. And we pretty much live around the Albany area anyway.

@@MightyMuffins right, yea we did have avilla 5 miles away started as a dirt track went to pavement then covered it up with dirt for a time over the pavement and back to pavment till it closed in 1995, when the city closed them down for noise even though the houses were built after the raceway was there it was a mess and I miss hearing the slight rumble on a clear night that used to be on saturdays till then, and baer field well that closed too guess the guy that owned it died before a distant cousin on moms side that was the promoter there could buy it from him and the sons did not want to be absentee owners so now who knows if it will ever see a race again or is just going to be torn down for parking by the airport there.

I was actually surprised you managed to hang on after the collision on the back straight in the reverse race. hehe in a way you could see more from a distance what was ahead of you....though you did say in the post interview you had you in car camera too.

@@MightyMuffinsit was a pretty big hit, yes I did have a go pro in my car for all the races I’m working on editing them all now they will all be posted by tomorrow evening!
