Junkie XL - Beauty Never Fades I haven't been able to find this particular version of the track anywhere, so it might just be a "remix" of another track.
Yea. Not only that, but in EVE, velocity, rotation, and distance all matter in fights. In WoW, it's just click and shoot as long as you're in range. All you have to manage is what attacks you use and when. And if you're in a party, you just have to manage who does what and when, you don't have to worry about surprise attacks, flanking, or different fleet maneuvers.
I agree, at least to a certain extent. I think pilots should have the option to either control shuttles and frigates directly or use the current point-and-click interface. Also, it'd be nice if carrier and mothership pilots could let other pilots control their fighters. For instance, there could be a drone/fighter control room on the ship. People could dock their ships with the mothership/carrier and they'd be able to pilot one fighter at a time. A/w, just a few ideas.
I never said it wasn't, I said it requires tactics and strategies. WoW doesn't require complex strategies. Also, watch videos of gangs of interceptors. Interceptor pilots (like myself) have to factor in their velocity, range, transversal velocity, accuracy, falloff, ammunition, EWAR (including ECM/Electronic Countermeasures), fleet members, enemies' weapons, enemies' tracking and targeting, enemies' falloff, etc... You also have to have backup plans and escape plans should things get hairy.
It's the animatrix edit of the same song, although I haven't heard the song on any of the animatrix episodes. I think you might be able to get this mix on limewire, but I got it from someone else. So I'm just not sure, but it's a great song to listen to when you want to imagine epic space battles.
I've explained this hundreds of times in the past month or two and I don't feel like doing it again. Just watch a vid of an organized roaming gang in EVE. Watch the tactics and strategies they use, how they coordinate, etc...
Yea, that's why it's such a niche game. The same things that turn people away are what make people love it. There's too many WoW clones out there, it's good to have something original like EVE.
This is what made me discover Junkie XL. This is what made me discover EVE and pay after the 14 day trial. This is what made me become a goon. This is why i've got 8 accounts and spend so many damn years shooting POCO.
If this Game changed 3 things, it would be the best. 1- you shouldn't be able to attack your own faction, 2- the hit point ship system is no good, its like WOW in space. I want to be able to his particular systems in the ships. Last, I hate the planets, they do nothing, you cant orbit them and it messes up the illusion of the vast space. Other than that its great. Oh and this is the best mix of the song.
Eve would be a great game if you controlled the ships more directly like in Freelancer. Freelancer I still play now and again after many years, but EVE I tried for a week and it got boring quick. Not because of the depth, great amazing depth it has. But the combat is blargh!
Like you said, the subscription numbers pale to WoW. Granted, EVE may be quite popular, it's still a niche game. EVE has around 1/48 as many subscribers as WoW. Yes, EVE will continue to gain subscribers, but it will never have nearly as many as WoW. And you have to realize that there are many, many adults playing WoW. It's not all kids. Some people genuinely enjoy that kind of brainless monotony.
durge666, I don't get it. I played EVE and there's less depth to the combat than WoW. In WoW you have to constantly move and reposition yourself with direction controlled inputs, and the use of abilites and the right time comes into play. Eve you just set an orbit and then hit the button for each weapon once, and it auto fires. If you actually calculated the amount of key strokes used in EVE vs WoW, WoW would have at least twice as many per minute during combat/
