I really love the designs of the new ships. The faction destroyers are a perfect in-the-middle choice before going t3d or a T2 cruiser. The new patch will bring me back to EVE. Looking forward to the FW changes. IGN: Caldente
Just returned to eve half a month ago after two years of break. Glad to see that your channel is still active, you helped me a lot back when I was alpha.
Don't forget to zoom in for sound on the target too! And it differs as it hit shield vs armor (can also be on your own ship too, but I try to avoid going into armor, even for science :) ). I have to say, I love the sound of projectile turrets (testing AutoCannon atm).
I'm thinking the navy cormorant could be a good sweet spot for an alpha to speedrun T0 (and potentially T1) abyssals. Obviously if you are omega there's the jackdaw etc. but alphas have limited choices and this should expand upon those choices nicely. IGN: Same as youtube :)
I’ve been wanting some more choices for the navy DDs for the abyss, this game needs more ships an alpha can access to get butts in the seats. IGN Troa Buell
The removal of the Trigger Neurolink Conduit on the BPC of the subcap navy ships is having a positive impact on price for both the buyers and sellers. Sellers are getting more profit from their time, effort and risk to get the LP, buy the blueprint, and then either sell the blueprint on contract or build and sell the ship for even more profit. Buyers get to buy the ships at a lower price than initially anticipated (at least 31M ISK for Navy destroyers, if LP farmers would buy the ship prebuilt in the LP store (cost 30K LP + 1 Tech 1 Destroyer) The blueprint now cost 12k LP +3.5M ISK which can be value at 15.5M ISK (I would not expect to find the blueprints on contract bellow that price), And the estimated price of materials to build the destroyers is 2.5M ISK. So a player built navy destroyers cost ~18M (BPC + Material). If the Trigger Neurolink Conduits (TNC) were still necessary, you would have need to add to the cost 27M for one Caldari TNC, 34M for a Gallente TNC, 26M for the Amarr, and 12M for the Minmatar TNC. No one in his right mind would have bought the BPC, and all the destroyers on the market would have been bought prebuilt from the LP store, and the price on market north of 31M. Not good for industrialists who got into the painfull process to build TNCs, but I said it at the beginning of the industry change when they were introduce : they are an horror to make and should not have been introduced, especially for subcap ships. The initial purpose of the industry change was to impact capital ships anyway, so they should have been restricted to capital ships to reach the goal they had. CCP reducing the number of TNC needed in cruiser pirate ships and bigger, a few months ago, and now by removing them from subcap navy ships is a silent admission that it was a mistake Can't wait for CCP to remove the TNC on pirate frigates BPC as well. Now... to your question, I'm not sure if I'll get a navy destroyer, as I don't use turret ships at the moment. I'll hope for a second release of navy destroyers as the Uprising unfold. As I'm focused on missiles, my initial hope was for a Corax Navy issue... and hopefully without the horrendous kinetic damage bonus lock, which is a serious irritation for me, but I wont rant about that here again, it is not the subject :) o7 IGN : Vadania Danann
With short range T2 ammo the Cat gets 2500m-4780m, the Cormorant gets 3800m-6000m the Thrasher gets 1100m-8000m and the Coercer get 5700m-11000m o7 We have extended the Thrasher Hail range to 14km with tracking comp with optimal range script and tracking enhancer, will be good in the abyss to dodge the neuts and hit the rats.
My only (minor) critism of the new ships is purely an aesthetic one (i hadnt even noticed the changing headlights colours)...i reckon they should be white in warp and agressively angry red in regular space/on grid. That way you look cool and mean while going pewpew :) IGN: Jaynestown.
i feel like the angry red lights should be when they're flying around killing people not happily warping around and safe from harm. Cormorant navy is definitely the sexiest of the new navy destroyers aswell
Definitely agree with the price reduction. Affordable and worth every penny for anyone to upgrade to. I am glad they have been coming down since first introduced. IGN: Talbot Shepherd
The differences between Navy and regular versions seem to be a difference in intended targets. As most Navy versions have lost their application bonus and added damage bonus, it seems that Cruisers and Battleships are favourite targets. The frigates and destroyers will be less likely to be hit. The regular versions were typically ideal to destroy smaller or same classed ships. IGN : Dianera Dragosha
Nice one fella, thanks for the preview. I’m looking at the catalyst and cormorant versions for my hanger. Particularly like the new warp lights. Very sultry! IGN TestoSlaine.
Nice breakdown of all four Navy Issue Destroyers. Thanks Mark. I plan to check the prices this weekend and if they are down in the 20s (mil). I going to invest in the Catalyst and hit those LS belts near hard. Thanks for the reminder about holding back the tags for a little bit. I honestly didn't think about that and was going to sell some this evening when I log on. o7 my friend, I always enjoy the content your putting out. IGN: Airistin Northgate
I plan to try the Thrasher in the Abyssals this weekend (test server first). Then try some T1 / T2 in Tranquility. I will post how it goes. I think I am going to try the Catalyst as well. Mainly because I am a Gallente ship guy. IGN: Airistin Northgate
Clone soldier harvesting should have been the tag line. These will make it much easier. Looking forward to snagging a Navy Coercer. Thanks putting together the side by side comparison. Dark_Arcanum
Excellent breakdown as always! Started playing ~3 weeks ago and this channel has helped me immensely. Currently just fly Amarr so hadn't seen/heard those Mimmatar guns in action before - I think I might have to switch up my training so I can experience that glorious noise more regularly! IGN - Flint Foxworth
The current Alliance Tournament has shown the differences between standard and Navy versions of ships. The difference is immense in terms of tank and additional room in fitting. It will be curious to see how navy destroyers will change this field in the alliance tournaments in the upcoming years. IGN - Spectral Spectre
I fancy taking out the navy thrasher for some hacka tacka tacka. Is the nos only to keep the other shipped tanked up on cap, or can it also deplete the clone soldiers enough that they have trouble holding you down and/or firing? I guess there isn't enough time in these type of challenges though.. ign: Pollekey
I assumed when I first started playing that you had to be in the Navy to fly these ships , I think you should have to, it isn't like you can just go out and buy an F16 off the shelf, (even if you could afford it lol) I also think they missed a trick by not updating the model, yes they look ever so slightly different, but not enough, these models could have been used for the existing ships and brand new designs for these. Minmatar philosophy! Put as many guns on as possible, but it "NEVER HAPPENS". Should have knocked one gun slot off all the original ships, barring the Thrasher, and had the Navy ones keep the extra gun slot, Thrasher should have eight. It's also about time all ships had an ammo magazine.
I think the Thrasher fleet issue might replace the normal thrasher as my standard LS roamer. It's awesome that as with all Minmatar ships the cap is easier to manage. When you landed 60km off a clone soldier I hoped that you would actually try to burn at him to really push the MWD sig radius reduction to it's limits. One question I have for you is, do you need a web on the TFI to keep on top of the webbing clone soldier, or does leaving the MWD on keep you quick enough? IGN: Tension Travis
I didnt feel that brave with the only hull I had to mess with. I will have it on the belts for real by the weekend. The web means you can cut the mwd once you have settled into range. But it is not that hard to do it with the mwd. I will be messing with fits and tactics for sure :)
I've barely tried using the catalyst yet, and now I'm thinking of the navy issue. Maybe I should get used to the standard version first? I thought the price seemed a little bit high, but I think the price of the vexor and the algos went up recently as well. IGN: Jae Ablem
You can do well in the regular Catalyst, especially once you have tech 2 guns. You can wait till 30mil for the navy hull is a small amount of isk to you, it shouldn't take long :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a_C1a68C7KU.html
I'm using Navy Cat (T2 FIT), It's VERY effective vs clone solders, THEY MELT!!!!!! IGN: Marcus Soletta, I killed a Garmur with my DareDevil, got the Bp :P
I rushed out and bought all the new ships as soon as I could (paid lots) I’ve only used the cormorant and find it’s perfect for the lowsec roaming I usually do I used the extra slot for a scrambler just in case I get any pvp . Ign: BARRY monk
@@daddex9222 Ah, I either didnt know, or forgot that. Ré the current 1 mil SP push, I am recommending people use you or AceFace's SP links, - all the channels and even mail, is full of people trying to get people to follow sign up links. I hope you get some sign-ups to help with your channel
Or both!!!! yeah apart from the squashed face of the Thrasher and the couple of extra bits stuck on the Cat there is little newness to them. The Catalyst looks even more like something created from a B17 kits left overs now...
