How To Construct Tribal Decks (A CGB Guide); Step 1: Identify all the cards that would synergise with the tribe you have selected. Step 2: Select 10% of them and put the rest back in the box. Step 3: Construct a standard control deck but remove 10% of the cards. Step 4: Add your 10% tribal cards to the 90% control deck. Tell everyone this is a "Tribal Deck". Step 5: Profit.

41:57 - CGB misplay - They changed the rules in (I think) 2020 so that commander deaths now work as is most intuitive. When a commander dies, it DOES hit the graveyard first now, triggering dies and graveyard abilities, before THEN being redirected to the Command Zone. This means that Kalitas should have created 3 Zombies here, because the replacement effect also triggers as though the commanders did hit the graveyard.

CORRECT! Graveyard, Exile, Library, and Hand are all zones that the SBA will see a commander entering and allow it's owner to make a choice to then put it in the command zone or let that object stay in said zone. Was looking for this comment!

Yes. But the zombies are created by a replacement effect as well and are a conditional effect of this replacement. Since the commanders go into the command zone (a different exile) he would still not get them.

@@bryanholdren9043 Bit of a mistake here. The commander goes into graveyard/exile as a SBA. But when it goes into the library or hand sending it to the comland zone is a replacement effect. Basically: - public zone: the commander hits the zone, then you decide if they go back in the command zone as an SBA. - hidden zone: you decide whether the commander goes into that zone or if it goes into the command zone *instead* .

@@danlewis7707 The commanders hit the exile before going back to the command zone, so CGB would get the zombies anyway, as the condition to create them was fulfilled.

All-star: Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. Such a fun card to play around with. Lifelink shenanigans are great and CBG pulled the perfect combo! PS: would love to see a 2-headed giant game with CGB, Mrs. CGB vs. Shea and...? Or random partners so that you can't build your decks to synergize with each other...

Around the 40min mark the sacrificed Commanders do trigger the creation of a zombie. Commanders visit the graveyard and then move to the Command Zone. See uptick in Elenda, the Dusk Rose recently with a Commander Rules committee change.

The lifegain combo is so boring, you can basically play it in any black deck. In our playgroup it's scum to play something like that, no one plays it anymore because everyone then kills this player, no matter what the cost. This pretty much goes for any two card combo. In principle, no one here throws such combos anymore because it's just not fun to play. The same also applies to Ben's infinite mana combo with his commander, it's just boring and way too strong, if nobody has an answer at the moment, the game is simply over for everyone in turn 3 or 4.... .. that's not fun for anyone at the table,

now that I understand the title, i like it. Tbh I didn't click the other episodes because I wasn't sure if it was a commander podcast, actual play, what the power level was, etc. I think some thumbnail work might help, but what do I know, I'm just a dumb comment leaver :P

kind of agree, but light paws is also the sort of commander that goes from 0 to unstoppable in a turn so I understand not wanting to let the foot off the gas. Still, I think it ended up hurting Blake in the end cause she was always under too much pressure to pay for CGB’s taxes

I get getting rid of thr problem but then the attack to pretty much just try to kill her what... 3 turns in or so lol was much... but its their game and I still liked watching it... and they are allowed to play there way.. in no way was I trying to offend anyone or Blake. Just my opinion on one small part of a larger game! Great content none the least!

Fan of the show, likeable group. Go underdog Ben! Getting repetitive watching CGB dominating play with counter spells and Blake the only one that might have answers. Arch enemy needs activated until gameplay spoiling abilities are delt with or other decks too often don’t get the chance to shine. Would make for better game play imo.
