All he has to do is to tell the people inside the hotel to move to the next hotel room to their right, meaning that the people on room nr 1 moves to room nr 2 and 2 moves to nr 3 and the people living in 3 moves to 4 etc. Since there is no room number 0 he will know that room nr 1 is empty.
They meant the next room. Move from n to n+1. If you’re in room 1, go to room 2. If you’re in room 2, go to room 3, and so on. This way you can move Jack to room1. I hope this helped.

actually, not all the rooms are on one side of the hallway. So shifting right actually puts someone at room 0, which is not possible. Although you do know the answer, what you typed was not 100% correct.
Areomancer i think the broadcaster only has to announce all his guest to shift one room farther that is if a person has owned room no. 3 then he have to shift to room no. 4 tha way hence the no. An alternate solution to the last one is that each student could tell the one in front what their hat is (Student 1 from the back could look at student 2 and tell what Student 2's hat is, and so on down the line)

Answer: He should announce every guest to the next room. So the guest in 1 St room moves to second and the guest in 2 moves to the 3 Rd. Since there is an infinite rooms every existing guest will have a room. So Jack can use the 1 St room.
As they can communicate with each other using those words my solution for the last riddle is the following. Let the 2nd person from the left touch the first one and say his hat's name/colour. This goes all the way to the last person, who is then able to conclude which colour or name his hat has. All of them can now say the solution. I came to this way of solving it because I thought that the students could only see one person in front of them I guess I'm too stupid to listen properly 😂
