I love how Victoria's Secret played this. People complained about how it wasn't inclusive enough and they hit us with the "you sure that's what you want?"

I never once looked at a Victorias Secret model and thought “I am only 5’3” but I want to be just like them! So I demand that they include people like me”. No. I’m in awe at how amazing they are, while accepting that they are 100% on a level I will never be on. I’m so tired of this idea that anyone can be anything they want to be. NO YOU CANT!!!!

As a dude, I remember the Victoria’s Secret catalogs, fashion shows, getting dragged by the gf to the store to then complain that they need provide a “husband & boyfriend seating area,” Miranda Kerr was my favorite model…and then it was all destroyed. Just like everything else that “Woke” touches. It’s like a frigging plague.

I am always baffled at people who make statements like, "that company only cares about profit". NO DUH! That's what they're supposed to care about. That's why they started their business. There's no point in being a woke brand if it drives away your actual customers.

EVERYONE knows what Victoria Secret sells, and what they are known for, in the face of criticism they loudly reminded us that we LIKED HOW THINGS WERE, they used Doja's "ATTENTION" intentionally, the song literally talks about criticism, and it everything they did was for ATTENTION. It was SO BAD that everyone is going to talk about Victoria Secret, they didn't put any of their products in this mess because they don't want to hurt the reputation of their product. It was an absolute GENIUS marketing move. Now everyone will welcome back the angels with open arms and put Victoria Secret at the forefront of conversation. They subtly hinted at what they are doing without talking about it because you cant cancel them for being inclusive but you could cancel them for mocking it.

I equate the way women watch Victoria’s Secret models to the way men watch bodybuilding competitors. Seeing the extremes of what the human form can be is a sight to be behold.

I am fat and I LOVED watching the Victoria Secrets show when there were still Angels. I want to look at beautiful women and have my 5min of delulu where I can act in my head like I would look drop death gorgeous in that lingerie set. I never once thought: “Oh why can’t I be like them”, NO! Why can’t people just enjoy something without feeling victimized because their specific body type isn’t shown?!

Nowadays “inclusivity” is a joke no matter what you do. Too many brands and companies tried too hard to appeal to their woke audiences to the point that whenever I hear or see the word inclusivity I just crack up. It’s a complete joke.

I’m not sure why people say it a fantasy or unobtainable? I know plenty of girls that look that good. Normal girls who stay healthy and eat well. Hell, even Bret looks that good. It’s not unobtainable. People obese just want a reason to call everything “unrealistic”

they went ditch to ditch. all they had to do was feature inclusive sizing. nothing else. instead, they changed every aspect of their marketing, and guess what, still in many stores don't have inclusive sizing.

My theory is that they purposely made the tour awful so that they could bring back the OG shows without getting cancelled!

This is the byproduct of the body positivity movement’s over correction. While I agree with the basic sentiments of the movement (ie “beauty comes in all sizes”, “your smallest is not your healthiest”, “love and accept *your* body”), at times it went too far. It got to a point where girls were being shamed for being thin. The envy & jealousy bred hate towards girls & women who either had a mental illness (EDs) or couldn’t change their DNA.

I got issues with plus sized models. We should never incentivize being in poor health or being lazy.

I remember watching the 2001-2006 shows on fashion channel back in 2008 a few days before the 2009 show happened & I was blown away by how beautifully every segment was put together, how beautiful the models looked & how amazing they walked, the soundtracks & the glitter & crystal platted runways. Those shows really made an impact. I still haven’t gotten over my crush on Fernanda Tavares, Isabeli Fontana, Flavia De Oliveira, & Karolina Kurkova lol.

In my 29 yrs I’ve been so used to the Old Victoria Secret and I will never understand what this crap was in 2023😂..I’ve never been a skinny girl, but I didn’t care if it was only skinny models in the fashion shows or in the catalogs modeling the lingerie and everything else..I’ve still been able to fit into their stuff lol..all this woke, leftist, activism crap is getting really annoying🤨🙃🙃

I think the VS models (or kpop stars, or models in general) shouldn't be assigned anorectic-type activities, like only liquid diets and crazy cardio plans. They could be stunning and still pretty skinny without feeling lightheaded and losing their period and hair because of malnutrition. I think their health should be valued more. Some kpop idols have fainted on stage because of this nonsense. I don't think this is what I'd like people to have as role models. VS models have also been very frequently pro-anorexia inspiration. I think we should have fit, skinny and healthily beautiful people on VS-stage, not women who have been made as tiny and fragile as possible.

Victoria's Secret made the same mistake that so many boyfriends and husbands make; they took women literally and assumed what they said was literally what they meant.

The reason being body positive didn't lead to more sales is because the movement has always been about how it makes you look like a good person for saying you're body positive but not actually practicing it. Rest assured that the majority of the people who were being the loudest in their support of body positivity were still going home and quietly swiping left on fat people.

Finally, FINALLY. Victoria Secret is a brand of a pure beauty, not for everyone, sorry not sorry. And I am telling that feeling about myself like 5/10, 6/10 if I was in shape.

I remember when I visited with a modeling agency in high school. The agent commented that I’d never be a VS model because I wasn’t tall enough (I’m 5’6”). I didn’t have any issue with that because they were the super model unattainable beings.

If I was the head advertising executive I would organize a BIG VS show for a week before Valentines day with ALL the best of previous shows (including all the angel costumes). However, start the notification campaign on Christmas day with an official meme showing the wings with the message "What SECRET is going on at VICTORIA'S?". Each day release another meme adding a little bit more intrigue and on 28 Jan announce the new show BUT NOT THE VENUE. Then release a daily meme giving hints about the venue. 5 days before the show start accrediting reporters and celebrities and LIVESTREAM THE SHOW ON RU-vid, RUMBLE etc and tell the television channels that they can broadcast the livestream on air. But VS better make sure that there is NOTHING WOKE AT ALL and it is THE BEST OLD SCHOOL, SEXY AND BEAUTIFUL SHOW THAT THEY HAVE EVER PRODUCED. The venue location will have to be stunning AND KEPT SECRET, NO LEAKS... Get the whole of social media trending and trying to guess or figure it out.

I think Victoria's Secret forgot who their products are aimed at....men. If it were for women only and not for men, women would buy the most comfortable underwear possible no matter what it looked like because it wouldn't matter.

They could've easily made a good film. Pair up a designer with a particular model. Have them showcase a few different sets on her, as we get to know that model a little bit on camera. Kind of a day in the life with her. Make it fun and flirty. And you could have different themes for each showcase. Have one girl and designer do a french fashion theme for their sets, another pair do an italian one. That would give you an excuse to go on set to some of those cities, as well as showcase some fashion from areas of the world we don't usually see, like Asia and Africa. And you could also pick a couple of the models who are maybe a little thicker (though not fat), to show a wider range of actually healthy body types. There, an easy VS docu-showcase that highlights the beauty of the brand, while showing a new, more personal side to it.
