The thing about I Burn is that it’s not just “a” Yang song… it’s the *first* Yang song, the way we are introduced to her character in the Yellow trailer. But on the vol. 1 OST, the song right after it is Gold. Both are about Yang, both call her the sun, but in very different contexts. In I Burn, Yang is a sun whose heat burns her enemies to cinders. In Gold, Yang is a sun that lights up Ruby’s life and warms her after the death of her mother. It’s a strong depiction of both sides of her.
@@teddy3444 Makes no sense if it was Yang to Ruby since she's would've been way too young for most of the lyrics to fit. It's also fundamentally made as a parental song between father and daughter.
Nora told Pyrrah to practice what she preaches. Norah is practicing what she preaches. She says that she'll say boop instead of I love you and that's what she does. In volume 1 she said it to him in the Emerald forest
This entire soundtrack could be subtitled “JNPR girls be thirsty for their teammates” 😂. In Nora’s defense, I can see how it would be difficult to talk about feelings with Ren, who is pretty unreadable a lot of the time.
In Sacriface the line about Mirrored Eyes is not about Weiss , you might not know this but mirrors used to by made with silver, in other words that line is about Silver Eyes
From what I understand, Monty Ohm, who voiced Ren in addition to directing the first volumes of the show, had a short-haired ginger girlfriend - they served as the inspiration for Lie Ren and Nora Valkyrie.
A bunch of these songs only played during some end credits… Same for the volume 1 OST… For future volumes I think almost every song appears during the show itself or character shorts (except the final volume credits songs)… But anyway, I think this volume might be tied with volume 7 for my favourite of the OSTs… I’m not sure either have that many of my favourite songs from the show, necessarily, but as a collection, they are pretty great mixes of music. For I Burn, I think I slightly prefer the official soundtrack version… Not that swearing isn’t fun lol, but yeah, it’s more fun how they creatively changed the lyrics to remove the swearing. In regards to Nora telling Pyrrha to practice what she preaches… Pyrrha had just given that advice to Jaune, Pyrrha is therefore the hypocrite, given that she is the one not living by her own advice… Nora only ever suggested that Pyrrha was not following her own advice and didn’t give any other advice. Occasionally there will be a song that isn’t directly related to the story… I think technically All Our Days is Jeff to his daughter, Casey… This said, it could fit other characters… I thought it was Yang to Ruby at first, but it suggests that they dreamed about them long before they came and Yang is only 2 years older, so it seems unlikely… I think when it plays there is fan art of Penny, so maybe it might be paired with Penny somehow… It could fit, but I’m not sure it’s meant to fit directly with the show. Sacrifice might be worth revisiting later… So many things in it make much more sense in 2 to 3 volumes time lol… Personally, I think it’s likely from the perspective of the mystery woman in the end credits scene, but possibly it could be Cinder… It amuses me how many people jump to the future Ruby thing… They see the colours, but don’t see the resemblance in the face… That’s what I personally noticed lol… Then again, did I? It’s been a while and I watched so many reactions >_>;; Did I notice later? Oh well, I certainly noticed at some point ^_^;; A fair few people had your idea though.
I guess one way to handle sound stuff is by having the video volume be separate audio file and change the volume of that while editing? :P Though admittedly I dont really mind if music is too loud, my headphones will fix it themselves :D I Burn: Yeah generally all Yang songs are about beating ppl up Funnily enough there was misscommunication about this song and when asked they were told that they can swear. This turned out to not be correct so they had to go back and censor the song for the version that went on the track, they released this separately. :D Well for example the Super Sayan reference is literally cuz the look of Yang using her semblance is designed off of Sayan mode. Mirror Mirror: This one is pretty important since all Weiss songs kinda build off of one another. If you read into the Lyrics you realise that the whole "Ice Queen" thing is a front - its a wall she puts up to the world for some reason. Time to Say Goodbye: This song nicely references the whole there is no time to be kids. For longest of times this song was my favourite Opening. Die: This is quite an ominous song. Not much I can say about this though other than it is a bop. It isnt exactly a Ruby song I would say. Shine: This is the JNPR dance song. For the record - not every "ship" song is to be taken as "they are a thing" - sometimes they are a bit of just "what if" Ships you mentioned: Ladybug, Black Sun, Iceberg, Freezerburn :D Dream Come True: This one is mega self explanatory so I wont say anything tbh. Song like that might exist, we will see. Dont worry, once you hear them the memorable ones will start to creep in from the score :P They start doing a lot of cool stuff with that around S4. The Ship is Arkos. (Arc+Nikos) CAFFEINE!: Lamar is the guy who does pretty much all the rapping in RWBY - if he is featured, the song will include rap. This is the CFVY theme song. This song includes references to the Deep Purple song "Highway Star" I love how it sounds like someone who is way too overenergised. Not only semblance, we havent even seen Velvet use her weapon so far :D The fact that Velvet is the one taking the selfie in this image is funniy and fitting but you will get why later :D All Our Days: This is actually a parental song to a child. Since Jeff wrote this song about Casey we could maybe assume that this might be Ruby and Yang's dad to either Yang or Ruby. This has insanely cute picture in the Flynt of RWBY version but it would have made tiny spoiler so I assume thats why we get this instead. Boop: This is what plays from Nora's headphones in Jaune's "talk" with Ren. Boop is my prefered name for Ren+Nora ship but official ship name is ReNora (there is also Flower Power) Yes Nora said so in the first moment we met her "We know each other for SOOOO long." Makes Nora a bit of a hypocrit doesnt it? :D To be fair now you can consider every time she says "boop" she wants to actually say "I love you" Jaune asked if they are a couple and Ren adamantly denied it. Sacrifice: This song is possibly the most mysterious songs we have. To this day we dont really know who exactly is singing this song. There are some massive things in this song that you wont catch for a while yet. Nice catch of the "mirrored eyes" keep this in mind for later though - once explained you will see what this bar was about :P All in all... IT IS TIME FOR VOLUME 3!!! 🥳🥳 I for one cannot wait :D
Is the game Grimm Eclipse? I thought that should be played later. It isnt a very good game other than being RWBY to be fair so only play it if you feel like it.

I see 'All Our Days' as a Tai to Yang song. I really think he's making this vow to Yang when she was an infant, heart broken and feeling abandoned because of Raven leaving after Yang was born.
I wonder if the Weiss cameo was planned, or was spontaneous :) Jaune x Phyrra - Arkhos (Arc +Nikos not sure if any other shipname they have) All our days - Jeff wrote to Casey (his daughter) - can be interpreted as Tai singing to Yang or maybe Yang to Ruby. (In another music video this has a Tai + Yang art) When Jaune talked to Ren about Weiss, Nora said they aren't "together together" Nora at least said Boop to Ren in the Emerald Forest when they met, but yeah maybe she could sound a bit hypocritical too.

The war in the middle east were started for the wrong reasons (to secure oil rights), but the people who went to war did it to free an oppressed people from a genocidal tyrant. Unfortunately, the politicians at home decided to nation-build, then gave up about 50 years too early (that typically takes 70 years, and we were only there for 20).
Not sure if anyone answer your question about Lamar Hill(sp? might spell the name wrong, on phone). He's basically the one that does the rapping (for example Yang's I Burn).
I suppose one benefit of being late to these is that I can give my thoughts on “Sacrifice” without worrying about spoilers. It’s not entirely clear what it’s referring to (the visuals aren’t always an accurate depiction), but it’s my opinion that it’s Raven talking (literally or otherwise) to Ozpin and declaring her abandonment of his mission, stating that she won’t be his sacrifice for his endless and futile goal of trying to stop you know who. Having recently seen volume 6 episode 3, you can see how that goal might be considered even more hopeless, not that I know for sure if Raven’s aware of that detail. Granted, this song came out before we knew much about Raven, but I believe some story points were written and thought out well before we saw them in the show itself. Not to mention we did just see her an episode before this song plays in the credits.
@@goddesssalem4842 I’ve heard that as well, but the words in the song appear to be from a victim’s perspective, and Salem never considered herself lower than Ozpin. Betrayed perhaps, but not manipulated or taken advantage of. Plus we see Salem’s song “Divide” a volume later, and it has almost the exact opposite tone as this one: superiority and dominance.
@@chaossalad3243 This song doesn't fully match up to Raven either, there are many lines which just don't add up and they seem to be from Salems Perspective towards ozpin. Words like "I wont fall for you", and why would Ozpin be trying to stop Raven, that makes no sense. I also don't believe ravens sacrificed much, she a bad mother who abandoned her kids, unless her backstory tells us different, we need that STRQ flashback. This song is very much in debate, one thing I know for sure , this aint a cinder song.
@@goddesssalem4842 I interpreted “I won’t fall for you” as Raven not falling for Ozpin’s hopeful view of the world and his plans. I don’t see any other lines that go against Raven’s perspective, though a lot of it is admittedly similar to Salem, likely since they both believe Ozpin’s goal is hopeless and deceptive. The song isn’t necessarily saying Ozpin’s trying to stop Raven, except perhaps to stop Raven from leaving (and even then it would only be passively). As for what Raven has sacrificed, that’s relative to her experience that we don’t fully know. It was never fully explained why Raven left Qrow and Ozpin, but we know she felt deceived and taken advantage of in some way. In my mind, her general sacrifice is the years she devoted herself to Ozpin like Qrow did, and also the potential to die for Oz’s goal. This isn’t proof of anything of course. As I said plenty of the song matches Salem, I just feel it matches Raven more, plus we don’t have a full Raven song otherwise. As for Cinder, don’t think she met Ozpin before V3C11, so yeah.
It’s too bad neither of them have any motifs later on (that I know of) that match this song, that would clear up the debate pretty quickly. It’s weird since most songs that play in the credits we hear in some form in the background of an adjacent episode. Maybe I need to rewatch the Vol 2 finale, though if I missed it after so many rewatches I don’t think it’s my fault.
At the conclusion of Volume 2, you really shouldn't have any clue what Team CFVY's semblences are. Only Velvet's one was "sort of" alluded to. If you were told what they are, fine I guess since they aren't shown in the show proper for the most part. Fun fact, as opposed to color, birds, or gender-bent semi historical figures, Team CFVY is themed / named around various types of sweets. As for All Our Days, I always read it as a song from the dad's perspective to Ruby considering Yang would have been 2 when Ruby was born.
ok but Jaune was born with 7 sisters, a variety of women and standards, if he still trusts his dad's advice on women, then it would be reasonable to believe he has a bias on what a woman like Pyrrha might want in a partner based on his sisters ideals. Also they were roomed together, he likely put in his mind to think of it as if sharing a room with his sisters in order to act normal. It's a rant, sorry

the sisters thing was mentioned while he danced with Pyrrha and it can be surmised from his comment of his dad telling him all women look for is confidence back in volume 1 how he still believes his dad's advice
