Even More Holy Grails - Superlink (Energon) Galvatron  

I have vivid memories of going to a Toys “R” Us and grabbing Energen Optimus prime in his chunky glory, I am definitely gonna have to look at picking one up now

realtalk, energon is why i love galvatron. just a really striking design that seared itself into my brain, and in the show he was just straight up scary.

I like how many cannons they have,and when i see this figure for the first time in 2016 i say : looks like this despeticon get another reformat from the unicron

I always loved this mold, and I still have my original normal color Energon Megatron. The only figure of Big M I like more is probably the outlandish Cybertron design.

I have the bigger boy and I love him. He’s got an extremely beautiful Royal Purple on him. I highly recommend you get the Energon Leader version.

I got the takara megaton version of the figure. While I would prefer the galvatron colours the normal collate still good. For anyone looking for megaton look at the face the takara is a sky blue while the US is a metallic green the size is different but hard to tell sometimes from photos

As one of my Holy Grail's I bought the Leader version of Energon Megatron, and despite the size, I rather love the thing just because of how A: imposing he looks and B: How much an homage to Galvatron he is. While I would've liked to have the smaller voyager with the more vibrant colors, I can't deny that Leader Energon Megs just looks awesome

In the early 2000's, I remember clicky joints were a plus and minus. Plus because who doesn't love ratchets, but minus because I couldn't pose any of my toys after 10pm for fear of waking others.

Having both the big and small versions of this design, I enjoy the smaller version far more. Better scale, less nonsense. That said, I only have the US TRU small release, not the purple redeco.

In the energon show , the translucent wings were called as Hyper Mode

i kinda miss these kinds of transformer toys when they weren't focusing on collectors being their market (which meant bs scale excuse for toys shrinking focusing on articulation over quality and trying to use nostalgia rather then coming up with new ideas) but when they were focused on trying to make cool toys for kids that kids could enjoy and that parents thought were worth the money

In Energon, Megatron and Galvatron are the larger ultra class versions. Also as a TRU exclusive they did the smaller version of Megatron in a two pack with Smaller Superlink Optimus Prime. In Superlink all 3 versions which include the Lucky Draw are the smaller size. He is a nice figure but too pricey to go back and buy when Kingdom is better. Also Superlink was the 20th anniversary of Transformers for Japan

The alt mode on this is sweet. Think there's any chance you can find the tank to go with him?

Still have the original Ultra or whatever class it was when this guy was released. Think it was the same size as this one though I remember all deluxe variation released also. Still an amazingly fun, and well engineered toy with a decent amount of articulation considering how old it is. Only complaint really was the rubbery green plastic used for the Hyper mode wings as they can deform over time. Also a problem with wins on Vector prime. Even in his original colors this for me was always the definitive Galvatron for me growing up as no toy really came close or improved the design. That is until Kingdom/Legacy which finally got the toy right. Side note/ The sword, and star are from a scout dino from the same line only in transparent green. Can't recall the name, but remember it being a really weak figure with almost one step transformation.

They...already have this mold. It's been done with Shattered Glass Megatron. Like how Hasbro is dicking around doing a SG Sideswipe instead of giving up Armada Wheeljack...given he HAS the minicon with him!

i did love energon megatron and wanted to pick up galvatron back in the day but it never went on clearance and ive regerted it since. its not as good as toys are today but for its time it was great. btw this is my first time seeing your face and and dang age has been kind to you dude, you look like your still a teenager to me lol if i was only that lucky

I managed to snag the megatron version on TFsource some years back, in box and 'complete' baring one of horns missing...coincidentally the one that popped off on yours, go figure. Basically same figure but white and light blue color scheme which I definitely prefer. Such a good find

Also, if we get an Energon Megatron in Legacy or something, it will probably be a recolor of Pulse Shattered Glass Megatron which uses the same stupid WFC Trilogy base mold but with extra wing and cockpit pieces. Which sucks.

I don’t have kingdom galvatron mold but if there’s peg holes on the back you could use shatter glass megatrons wings to make a sudo energon galvatron/megatron

I had the megatron version, which eventually found his house in another kid home This one just was not sold anywhere near here, but IMO, it's the superior version

At the moment, my two main Holy Grails are SDCC TLK 2017 Optimus Prime and the TF:AOE Autobots United 5 pack, all cuz of the nostalgia.

A Kingdom Galvatron retool would be better than that Shattered Glass Siege Megatron that is trying to emulate the first Shattered Glass Megatron which is Superlink Megatron repainted as a Botcon exclusive

I have the larger version of Energon Megatron, and the soft plastic parts of the wings have started to get sticky. I think the plastic there is starting to degrade with age.

i have the megatron deco and i prefer that over the galvatron

IV owed the Takara and I still have the Hasbro Galvertron and I have to say your want the Hasbro one more it's better bigger and the purple is much more fitting for Galvertron . It's a shame about the tank if I had a spare I'd send you it but I think I just have a Megatron one in that size sorry 😊

I have the original wally world exclusive one I like it & yes the tank is needed for the cockpit blade along with the lights & sounds yes the tank stores on top of the jet mode but if you don't have the tank well you're not missing much just a small homage to armada megs tho Edit 1: the 4 minicon pegs on the back are meant for the tank so you're getting 3 pegs instead of 6 Edit 2: at 6:08 I noticed you're using the hyper mode gimmick wrong you do not lift up on the wing panel you pull out the middle clear part to put him into hyper mode

Oh, I WANT that Galvatron but the price online is ludicrous. I'll just have to settle with my Leader Energon Megatron who only miss the tank's missile.
