I died of a massive heart attack on July 23, 2020. I was dead, in my living room, with my husband right there and my youngest daughter upstairs, unaware of what had happened. Paramedics arrived and somehow were able to revive me. On September 1, 2020, I walked out of the hospital. I don't know why I lived, but hearing this song makes me feel grateful that I have more time with my family. Thank you for touching me with your emotion and your beautiful lyrics!

Sorry for your loss. My husband and UI have been together 31 yrs. On our 3rd date I told him I could see us together 32 yrs. I knew a couple who were together that long and that was what I was looking for. 32 years is fast approaching and I'm terrified. I have the habit of making off hand comments that come to pass. 32 years seemed at the time a long time it's just a blink of an eye. Again I'm sorry for you loss. Heard something in a movie. When someone dies, If you don't talk about someone, tell their story. Then they die twice. It goes along with what I took from the Ancient Egyptians. If you speak a person's name then they live another life after this natural one. A sort of immortality. Like saying Tutankhamun. He died 1000s of years ago but by speaking his name he lives on. My son took his life on August 6th 2019, just before his 25th birthday on August 25th. He struggled with depression and mood disorders for years. Tried to get him help but he always said no one could help because no one understood. He left us and his now 4 yr old son behind. It hurts so bad. I'm having a rough day today. On November 17th 30 years ago I married my best friend. He would tell me "I'm not perfect" and I would say "no, but you're perfect for me"! Two days before our 6th month anniversary he was killed in a car wreck. James was only 26. Six years later I marry a man that is just seems to be heaven sent. After listening to this song I wonder if James put him in my direction for me to find him. There are days that I feel James all around and I know he is still watching over me. Prayers to you and your loved ones. This song hit me because my health isn't good. I have a rare blood cancer. Not curable. I know one day it will take my life. This song made me think of my kids. The part that I helped more than I hurt them. I know my one daughter is bitter I've been sick so long. That I couldn't do everything a mom should be able to do, in her highschool years. That she was mad we had to live poor because I got sick. But she never went without. I raised all 3 of them alone for 16 years. My ex husband remarried. So he walked away from them. She's the only one that I wonder, will the good times out number the bad? Will she be relieved when my sickness finally ends.. That she doesn't have to see me sick anymore. It's strange. I heard my mom say last year she was glad my grandma wasn't suffering anymore. All I could feel was, I'd give anything for her to still be here. Different relationships, different personalities.. But we all just hope we got it right in the end. That we loved more than we hurt them. God bless

I'm a 35 year old man sitting here full on crying. 7 years ago my 34 year old brother died of a shocking leukemia diagnoses. He died 23 days later. 3 years ago my dad was killed in a freak motorcycle wreck. He was 52. And last year my mom died from cancer. She was 69... Wow, what a truly moving song. I face my mortality daily, as I look in a mirror and go play with my 19 month old grandson. I too sing, but can no longer play my piano, or other instruments, I've never learned to write music, so have started a journal and added photo's I take as he's growing. 2 years ago I spent 4 months in ICU fighting for my life from a heart infection, blood infection and both lungs infected, my body wasn't responding to the medications and the Dr's told my family to prepare themselves that I was losing the fight but somehow I pulled threw. I believe my dad had alot to do with it as he passed away just over a month before I was admitted to hospital, so this song is very special to me....ty Chester your the best

You have to listen to the lyrics and especially his actions before he starts the song. Just beautiful! I needed this! I miss my daughter so bad! She and my grandson were in a bad wreck and were in a pickup. She threw herself around his carseat to protect him. If she would have hung on to the steering wheel, she would have survived. My grandson was life flighted to Vanderbilt and spent 4 days in ICU with a brain injury, 2 skull fractures and broken jaw and over 100 stitches just in his face. She gave her life for his. I am so proud of her. She was a great mommy. She would have been 21 on her birthday just 11 days after the accident. That's the day my grandson came out of the hospital. Sorry for the rambling, I was thinking about her so much and this song popped up. Thank you!

Voice of an angel brother. In the last 8 years I have lost my whole childhood family. Dad, mom and now my sister. I am 46. Dad died in 2016 at age 70, Mom in 2017 at age 63, and my sister 6-19-24 at age 40. I have been so stricken with grief. So thankful for my wife and children to help me push through this. I feel for you sweetie. I lost my 23 year old son to suicide Aug 20 2015. He did it in front of me. Took a piece of my soul with him when he did that. It forever changed me. I had to learn to live a new normal life. It has been the hardest time of my life. His birthday is coming Jan 6 he would have been 28 this year. He left us with a beautiful 10 day old daughter when he took his life. She has been my saving grace. Everyone needs their time to grieve and then you come together to support and be strong for each other. This is too new. You are still in shock over this and you have a right to grieve for your son! A mother carries her child for 9 months inside of her. You are the only one that felt him move and he's the only one that knows your heartbeat! You gave him birth! No one else went through that pain to bring him into this world and no one else will feel your pain now as you have to let him go back home without a choice! There is an invisible bond of love that forms at that time in the womb and it just grows stronger over time. You pick whatever song you want for your son and don't worry about anyone else. A mother gives up so much for her children, so you are allowed a moment of putting what you want first! Falling apart is expected. He is your son! A mother's heart was not made for this kind of pain! This is the beginning of a long journey of deep abiding love turning into deep abiding grief. Right now it's going to be about surviving one breath at a time to one moment at a time and then down the road it will be surviving one day at a time. Sending you so much love and big hugs!! In the summer of 2021, my husband discovered Chester See and this song. The title got his attention, then the piano music, then he listened to it - over and over and over. He played it for me, our children, and my best friend. He loved most all music, and lyrics, heartfelt lyrics. He told me that when he passes away, he wanted me to play this at his memorial. He passed away January 26, 2022, he was 55 years old, and the most amazing, most intelligent man with the biggest heart I have ever met. Our love was unconditional, a love that grew daily, a true love story, just shy of 29 years of marriage. I have lost the love of my life. But, he is in no more physical pain. I played this song at his service, and many times since his passing. I fell in love with this song first time I heard it. My oldest child, my daughter Paris passed away July 13th 2020 after her boyfriend was running from police. She was 35 yrs old. I lost my son August 12, 2020. He was hit by a motorcycle, in front of his best friend/girl friend and my daughter came right after. I wish I could take the pain away from them. This song actually gives us comfort. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Oh wow this came at a perfect time for me in my life because I just lost my dad a month ago about a week before Thanksgiving and he was my world and this song just says everything I don't have the words for he was a poet and if he would have written me a song before he died I think this is what he would have told me its beautiful and even though it makes me cry like a baby it's bittersweet Melancholy tears thank you thank you so very much for this beautiful song it touches my heart and soul God bless you in the grief that you felt when you penned these beautiful words I wish you light love and peace

This just broke my heart all over again, it’s been five years since I lost my mom and she was my rock, well every one around me. She was such a loving person and I feel so lost without her. Wow my friend you have done what most only thinks of and some try and fail. God gave you something great to touch people on a very deep scale. I can tell you have a wonderful heart and I’m so sorry that you had to discover and write these words in a song because of your loss of a loved one. I know it hurts and I want to give up sometimes but stay close to God and we will be with them when our time comes. Much love to you and to all. God bless. Oh yeah I wanted to tell you that I don’t cry, well not easy. I’m still slinging tears after writing this. Just saying!

Oh my dearest sweetest Jesus do I ever know how you feel!! Ever so sadly my 26, year old ever most precious baby girl lost her battle with addiction September 5, 2020!! She had been clean for 8 months & checked herself out of rehab early!! 11 days later she overdosed on fentanyl & was found dead in a motel room all by herself!! My entire world has just crumbled into a million broken pieces & I will never be the same again!! There are so many days that I really think that I can’t go on anymore without my angel & bestfriend!! Only through the Grace of God am I still here on this earth!!

I lost my mom 2 years ago on Oct. 16th, I just heard this song for the first time. She fought for 4 months, but what's crazy is that had she passed away the day she collapsed, I wouldn't be here right now. Cause, I would have not been able to handle it, I already knew what I was going to do had the EMS worker told me that she had no pulse. Now, I am living every day to the fullest, cause I know I shouldn't be here right now. It's scary to think about the dark place I was in at that time, but my family was there for me & helped me more than they will ever know. If anyone hears this & starts feeling that sadness again, please reach out to friends, social media & especially your family. Someone out there cares about you & if you have no one, then I'll be there. I know I wasn't the only one that felt that sadness & pain I was in that day, so please reach out & talk to someone. I hope everyone enjoys their day. And you have an amazing talent for writing songs & a great singing voice, Chester! And remember everyone, the best is yet to come!

Please call out to Jesus !!! It took courage to write that! Yes we can thank Chester for having written this song . I don’t know this artist very well and I wonder what he’s going through to prompt him to write something like this. Does anybody know? And you my dear friend, take comfort in that Jesus died for you so that you do not have to die the second death-but the Bible does say we have to call on him, it’s our choice. He expects us to make that choice as he has given us free will. He said I am the resurrection and the life ... he that believes in me though he die, yet shall he live! Call upon the name of the Lord and you will be saved! Jesus is real! My heart goes out to you.

My son in law was shot and killed yesterday standing beside my baby girl ,Destiny who just turned 21 and he would be 23 in 2 months , he has left behind my daughter and my 3 grand baby's. .He will be dearly mussed and loved ..you will always be in our hearts Jacob Tyler Stone ..
