@@musiyevonchilla6769nope. Ryko was the original reason people stopped setting before battle. Because if he gets flipped up, your set shit can get popped
It's funny because in the amidst of the whole "oh the tutorial in MD doesn't teach you the real game" drama, there's one tutorial that literally is just "bro don't set before the BP or else" kkkkk
@@M1911pap there are times where people don't know and I gorz. He's honestly not bad to use for free link summons 🤣 plus no one expects him in this economy
@@esoteric7990 I'm pretty sure I scarred a cyber dragon player yesterday cause they power bonded a 14k chimera over tech and crashed it into my shaddoll Construct 🤣 I did the same with magic cylinder as well
As someone who started yugioh by playing duel links, this is a habit I had to grow into and after roughly 1 and a half years of playing tcg and retuning to duel links, something I had to remember for duel links again
As a former EDOPro player (TCG) I can tell that it can also work the other way round. Sometimes I forget to set my backrow in DL due to the habit of having a MP2
My favorite part about this was that they set the full five. Not a single brain cell told them during that process to bait out or play around evenly matched.
I always play around it, and if i forget for some reason and set cards i simple skip the battle phase just to be sure when im playing lab, a little bit of damage does not win the game, your setup does
There's two main groups that make this mistake: 1. Duel Links/Terminal World players forgetting Main Phase 2 exists 2. Card of Demise enjoyers forgetting they're going second or on a deco with a battle phase(card was popular in Runick for a while and True Draco/Generic Stun often need True Draco Apocalypse/Moon Mirrir Shield respectively before they can attack safely into things without floodgates).
What is this "Main Phase 2" that is all the rage these days??? I still don't get why we don't have the phase but they put in cards that require it to work.
And then there's me, who sometimes forget to set his backrow on the MP bc he thinks he has a MP2 in Duel Links Mentioning DL: Imagine Evenly Matched will also become a thing there (I hope no) & then it will suck hard like DRNM
I would only set 5 go into battle if: -I get rid of my monster within BP (in a non suspicious way) and have a live Epsilon in hand - It’s needed for damage thresholds.
Evenly Matched is a very conventional card in giving psychological trauma for life for the following reason: At the end of the Battle Phase if you control no cards, you activate this trap from your hand which banishes all of your opponent's cards face-down (cards unsalvageable) until the same amount of cards you have on the field (one), That's why you should never place your traps before the battle phase is over.
Also even back in 2007, Malevolent Catastrophe is an infamous card that would wipe your entire backrow if you Set everything before attacking, and therefore create this practice of "Set your cards in MP2" similar to how Gorz still makes players attack with their smallest monsters first even when opp controls a dead card on field.
Not sure how i feel about board wipes and omni negates being considered good for the game. Power creep actually removing the braincells required to duel.
Wonder how many cards just cause players to say nah im done, id imagine a large sum 😅 and theyre legal because lol they aint that bad or F a certain deck
Banishes all opponents cards at the end of the battle phase until they control the same nunber of cards as you do. You can activate it from your hand if you have no cards on the field
Evenly Matched (Trap Card) Effect: At the end of the Battle Phase, if your opponent controls more cards than you do: You can make your opponent banish cards from their field face-down so they control the same number of cards as you do. If you control no cards, you can activate this card from your hand.
Activating a trap card from your hand that destroys everything on your opponents field, while the opponents traps they set cant be activated until their next turn. Yeah that makes sense. I really hate what yugioh has become. I dunno how they can come back from cards like these
Nah, the harsh battlefield of duel links legends ranks has made me a dueling god. The first time I played master duel it did not take me long to reach top gold ranks.
I mean either way. His board was being reduced to 1. So dunno why this is so funny. Edit: actually yeah the difference would be they can activate all the backrow.
If you ban a bunch of the current OTK-Meta decks along with it I’m absolutely with you. I’m a Cyber-Dragon-Albaz player and Blossom/Max-C/Evenly are the only reason I’m still playing this game. Some „play this card and draw your entire fkn deck“-strats are just plain braindead …. This Sushi themed deck for example. I started my turn, started my Cyberdark combo and saw that he had handtraps, so I settled for the weaker boss monster and summoned my CD-Eternal with End in my GY, in the hopes he needs to wait for Kaji or some other tribute buster, so I could try to build up my board. He filled his board in one turn with 3000+ and let me draw my entire deck in 4 turns, 3+ nullifies on his side at all times and he could just immune my attacks/circle through his synchros every turn. There is nothing, absolutely nothing outside of an omni-immune evenly with a OTK summon afterwards that could do jackshit against that. That is busted, and you talk about handtraps ….
