The online launch of our 2023 report to Parliament on progress in adapting to climate change in England.
The Climate Change Committee's 2021 report on progress adapting to climate change in England found that action was not keeping up with the increasing climate risks facing the country.
Two years on and understanding of the importance of adapting to climate change is growing, both in the UK and internationally. Our 2023 Adaptation Progress Report will assess whether government
action in England is now reflecting the risks from climate change as set out in our Independent Assessment of UK Climate Risk. It will be published ahead of the Government’s third National Adaptation Programme, expected later this year, which will set out the actions they plan to take to address UK climate risk.
Please join us for the online launch of this report on Wednesday 29th March to discuss our independent assessment of progress and expectations ahead of the updated adaptation programme.
The event will include a live Q&A hosted by India Bourke, Environment Correspondent at The New Statesman, along with contributions from members of the Committee and Secretariat, including
Adaptation Committee Chair Baroness Brown and Head of Adaptation Richard Millar.
