Event: Investment for a well-adapted UK 

Improved climate resilience requires significant investment. Investment will be needed to create new assets to protect the UK against climate impacts (such as flood defences and sea walls). Existing investment flows (for example into infrastructure investment) will need to be delivered in a way resilient to future climate conditions. Investment from the public and private sectors will be required to fully tackle the range of climate risks facing the UK.
Whilst the financial community has taken up opportunities around the pursuit of Net Zero, adaptation has been less easily understood. The CCC’s new report on adaptation investment highlights some of the priorities for adaptation, pinpoints the barriers to funds flowing where they are needed and sets out a vision for how to solve these.
